I recently started going for runs after work but now that it gets dark so early I (F) want to know if I can continue doing this safely. I know to wear reflective clothing and bring a safety device, but are there any good/safe/well lit places? I know the hub at lovers lane has a running track—is that worth the drive out there? I know the city parks all close at dusk -_- Should I give up and get a gym membership?

How do you like it? I'm in t-mobile, so the service should all be the same, right?

Hello, my wife and I are interested in moving to Bowling Green, given that it's about halfway between our families (Central KY and Nashville). I was curious about the general job market. I work in banking operations and it seems like banks in BG are pretty scarce job-wise for people with experience, or that virtually no banks are headquartered in BG (that are hiring), based on my research.

My wife works in education, so I'd also love to hear about how the local school districts are!

Figured I’d give this a shot. I’ll be in Franklin next week and a couple of my co-workers are seeking out a place to have some fun and do some shooting (safely and responsibly). I’m a Carolina native and he’s a KY native. I’m not seeing much in the way of DNR outdoor ranges anywhere close by. Would rather not do indoor range shooting either (rifles). I see a few membership based ranges around.

Is there anything I’m missing or someone could fill me in on? Some sort of public land like out west where you can freely shoot or any other good and safe outdoor location to do some fun target shooting out to 50 or 100 yards? Would appreciate any insight.

I posted a few weeks ago and this’ll be my last post, but wanted to throw out one more time. We have a group of men that works out outside at 5:30 a.m. every Monday morning at Covington Woods Park. Workout lasts about 45 minutes and ends with a “circle of trust” where we talk about what’s going on in our lives. Optional coffee to follow (but no pressure to stay if you have to get off to work).

It’s free and open to men of all ages. There’s no hooks or gimmicks — we’re just out there trying to push each other to get better and grow one step at a time.

If I moved there from out of state, started a business and wanted to net around $100k, is there enough of a local economy to support that kind of revenue? I've owned a couple service businesses in the past including handyman, trim companies and HVAC businesses.

If I wanted to move there with my family and set up shop what would everyone recommend? HVAC? Electrician? Handyman? Cabinetry and trim? New construction builder?

I went to Precision Eye Care and they were super sketchy. Same with Precision Dental for the record.

What are your favorite places to see nature in the area that aren't just the standard mammoth cave, lost river, etcetc? I want to drive some places before it gets too cold. Might bring my mountain bike too.

Do you have any harder to find areas within those parks or places you like to go to as well? (Like an offpath that leads somewhere etc)

My 14 year old daughter and I have gotten off to a really rough start here. It's just been one thing going wrong after another. To make things worse, we're 3 months in and neither of us has made a single friend. My daughter is taking it really hard and told me that she wishes we never moved here and she wants to go back.

I've tried. I've given her suggestions for how to talk to these kids at school but she says they all treat her like she's weird and won't talk to her. I signed her up for a soccer camp to try and help her meet kids, she's the only teenager that signed up so she hates it. She says we moved here too late for her to join any clubs at school. She comes home every day bummed out. I don't know what else to suggest. Any ideas? I really think that if she can just make a couple friends her opinion of our new home will change.
