Border check between Croatia and Montenegro

Went from a daytrip to Dubrovnik back to Montenegro a bit more than three years ago at Vitaljina/Kobila border crossing. Thats the way smaller and lesser known crossing between Croatia and Montenegro. This was the „passport control“. He actually was standing a couple of hundred meters before the border terminal… No table, no computer, nothing. He was just standing around like somewhere on the roadside. When he saw the german passports he put his stamp on a random page and didnt gave a fck even really looking at the data page.

Looks like this road crossed the border without a checkpoint not long ago.

Richford, Vermont. Town Hwy 11, no street view.

Border between Erenhot, China and Zamiin-Uud, Mongolia

I'm so happy to discover this sub cuz I love border crossings! This was taken seven years ago from my China-Mongolia trip. Started in Shanghai and ended in Ulaanbaatar! One of my best trips ever.

San Ysidro / Tijuana Border

One of the most unique, contrasted experiences I've ever had. On one side, you have the economic powerhouse of San Diego and SoCal, and on the other you have Tijuana.

You can cross by foot in and out of both, and the side entering Mexico is usually pretty quiet. Sometimes they ask for a passport, sometimes not. Once I walked in without even speaking with anyone. But re-entering the US is a whole different story. Super tight security, huge CBP building, and one of the longest lineups of any border, especially by car.

Once on the Mexican side you can feel time travel backwards. Nothing's familiar, the music and language are different, and everything feels a little off. It's beautiful yet feels lawless. It's such a unique feeling, I find myself wanting it at least once a year.

Re-entering the US is like a breath of fresh air, like everything makes sense again.

I'm fascinated by borders and have enjoyed this group. Thank you!

I think we need a thread "Europeans using Border Markers as Garden Ornaments". Here is a house on the Dutch/Belgium border with the white bollard marker next to the door.
