Purely from a perception point of view, I'd argue that Amitabh passed the torch as it were to Shahrukh through Mohabbatein, K3G and to a lesser extent Veer Zaara.
So who's next? SRK isn't averse to working with junior actors (see Dilwale, Main Hoon Na and more) but who do we think will get the rub from the current (perception wise) king of Bollywood?
Random thought but the cameo in ADHM could have been something (for Ranbir)if the film was better regarded'
Based on their acting, box office succeses, awards and critical acclaim who do you think is the real King of Bollywood? And any actor from this generation who can replace the "King"?
I don't know whats is going on but i found Bollywood movies like highway, simran and lots of other movies uploaded on youtube by t-series, zee5 like big channels. what is going on? is it hacked or they just did it anyway?
The original movie was first made in malayalam, then was remade in kannada and then telugu - tamil. I watched the kannada versions aptamitra and aptamitra2. The lead actress soundarya gave me chills and I could dream her expressions and get scared. What a movie. In any case, both the parts borderded on the issue of multi personality disorder. It was not a horror genre.
After BB1, it's a shame that the genre was completely changed and the soul was completely missed making it a horror / horror comedy. Just cashed on the trend. Can never watch these movies. And I just don't understand how its making money.

Why does all Akshay kumar comedy movies end in chaos? Hera pheri, phir hera pheri, bhagam bhag, welcome, de dana dan
Too much brainrot

Pathan and Jawan might be great as a theatrical experience but that is about it, I really miss the actor that he was. Even in Raees, JHMS and Fan his acting was good, say what you want to about the movie as a whole. Sure his crying scenes could be a hit or miss, mostly on the latter side, but he is so endearing on screen. What happened to him? He could do a mature love story, social drama, so so so many things to explore where he can still be a main protagonist if he is not willing to be a supporting character (understandable). I am sure there will be no dearth of scripts that reaches him potentially, then why is he still after box office glory? He proved it, now why can't he sign something rooted, he is amazing in drama genres.Look at his performances in Swades, Chak de, Dil se, Veer Zaara, my God those eyes!!! Why can't he do some small budget high content movies?? Why always go after box office glory. He has seen his fair share of successes. Or has he lost interest and is just phoning it in , one film in 3 or 4 years. I respect Aamir in this. The guy always is a trendsetter rather than having herd mentality.
Anybody know the name of the actress, left of Raveen Tandon, light blue color dress.
This scene comes in movie at 17:55
Bhool bhulaiya is very good frenchise but their sequels is not good compared to original version of movie...what are the reasons , bhool bhulaiya 1 is better than others.
"Neil Nitin Mukesh, John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, and Arjun rampal are all accomplished actors known for their versatility in playing complex characters, including negative roles. Among these talented actors, who delivers the most compelling performance as an antagonist?"
This is my unpopular opinion but most of the Karan Johar movies are cringe af except My name is khan and KANK. KKHH and K3G were cringe AF. Drop your opinions .
What do you guys think is missing from bollywood today?
When YouTube dubbed movies are so so popular, why bother remaking it, I am doubtful about Baby John but prefer movies like Jawan which were not directly taken from one single movie.
Farah Khan’s best one. Deepika’s dream debut. Shantipriya’s such an iconic character. And Om. A Movie in which Bollywood was Bollywooding. And Deewangi Deewangi, Farah’s crazy for pulling it off. Used to have a blast watching all of them as a kid. I still do. Everything about oso is so iconic.
Ajay devgn and Rohit shetty in a recent interview confirmed that Golmaal -5 will be the next project where they'll be seen together .Ajay also said that shaitaan 2 is in pipeline. So now ajay's upcoming filmography looks like this -
1)De de pyaar de 2 2)Raid 2 3)Son of sardaar 2 4) Shaitaan 2 5) Drishyam 3 6) Golmaal 5
I mean It's easier for filmmakers to churn out forced sequels to cash in on a hit movie's success rather than take the risk of creating a fresh, original concept. As they come with a built-in audience, while new ideas require more effort and creativity to captivate viewers.
That feeling between the two theatre timings of adrenalin rushes and change of aura from one movie to another. How do you chose the movies when you’ve to that ?
Is it me or anybody else here also watches atleast one movie a day.
Some times I can enjoy more than 5 movies.
Am I ok.
am I the only one here who likes the hated movies more than the most popular opinion or most liked ones in IMDB ratings ?? for example I liked singham returns more than any movie of rohit shetty cop universe...
I regularly watch some of the flop movies and I even like them too much even after reading all the reviews here in reddit I can't change my mind... Recently watched FARZI and TANDAV.. farzi still had mixed reviews but TANDAV has only 4.9/10 on IMDB and much more negative reviews here in this SUB but I liked it very much.. the acting , the plot , the story line each and everything...
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS SIMILAR TENDENCY OF LIKING UNPOPULAR OR HATED MOVIES ???
For me, it’s Lakshya. I’ve probably watched it over a hundred times, and I still love every second. The music is just perfect—Main Aisa Kyun Hoon, Kitni Baatein, Kandha Se Kandhe—not a single bad song in the whole film. Each one is so memorable.
It’s not just the romance between Karan and Romila that makes it special; it’s also the way it shows Karan’s relationship with his dad. Watching him grow up, find purpose, and build that bond with his father is such a real part of the story. And with Hrithik and Preity at their best, I genuinely think it’s one of Bollywood’s finest films.
Hello! I am Mexican 🇲🇽, so I'm very new to the Bollywood movies. However, not so long ago I discovered Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, I watched with my best friend and I absolutely fell in love with it, with the music, the style, everything. I fell in love specially with Shahrukh Khan y Kajol.
Your stories are very unique, but some part of it gave me nostalgia because it reminded me of the old Mexican movies, in the years we call the "Golden Era of Mexican Cinema".
I want to keep watching more, but I do not know where to start. I’ve only watched that one and one from Netflix called "Ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga" (I loved it as well). Can you guys give me recommendations, please? I would love to hear about your favorite movies!
Thanks a lot! 🩷
