I've seen a lot of polyam fics where Izuku gets some kind of Quirk which lets him read the mind of those he bonds with, sense emotions, or otherwise bypass the need to properly communicate with them, both when getting together and when issues arise in the relationship.
This isn't inherently a bad thing, but it does cut out a lot of the heart you can have in a polyam story.
What's your favorite trope in fics that's suprisingly common? Mine is that Jiro's father tries to act tough but it fails the second either Jiro or Mika say anything.
There's this one manga I loved it's called the boxer the main character is yuu a human absolute monster his feets are beyond human honestly izuku would be a monster of a hero if you don't know the boxer read it and you will see what I mean the ship can be whatever the person who writes it wants it to be
Preferably angst, dealing with the Todoroki home situation (what was said at the sports festival) or the kidnapping stuff (maybe something Dabi related)
Hello guys, I'm kinda new to the Fandom. What are some great bakudeku, villain Deku fics? Preferably angsty ones with a happy ending. Thanks!!!
I wanna read a story about OFA's user dying slowly, the quirk eroding them from the inside from the raw power of being held for so long. So now it's a race against time to put AFO down once and for all before the final real weapon against him self-destructs
Hi all! I need some help figuring out what goals my fanfic's villain organizations are gonna have. Right now, I'm using the villain groups from Mirrond's fanfics (since he said it was ok as long as you credit him), I just need to find out what their objectives are. What is their motivation? If I can figure that out than my fanfic writing my fanfic would be a lot easier.
The organizations are as follows: House of Glass Equalizers Levellers Inhuman Supremacy Party Clockwork Tower
Basically, we have decades without superheroes and the first one to officially emerge is a young man named Izuku Midoriya who meets an alien disguised as his homeroom teacher and next door neighbor, Toshinori Yagi, who defeats his mortal nemesis, an immortal alien known as All For One, but gets gravely wounded in battle. As he lays dying and Izuku desperately tries to help him, Toshinori gives Izuku his powers before succumbing to his injuries and Izuku becomes the very first superhero: Deku, a nod to his nickname given to him by bullies which he rebrands as a representation of how he represents himself as a hero for justice and doing what's right in order to save everyone with a smile.
*Others will join Izuku in the expanding world of superheroes
i read this fic about a year ago and cannot find it for the life of me. it was well written, it was essentially in a no-quirks universe where bakugou was rich and needed a partner to bring to an event so he hired an escort (izuku) to come to fancy events with him and whatnot because his mom wouldn't get off his ass about finding someone to bring. eventually bakugou's mom finds out izuku is an escort and gets livid, etc. etc. shenanigans. if anyone can find this i will love you forever thank you (they are also obviously aged up); edit for clarification, this was on ao3
Tomura Shigaraki watches in horrified fascination as Midoriya eats 20 entire cheese wheels, which heal his mortal wounds.
Midoriya runs into the wall until he finds a way to glitch himself out of the building.
Sometimes, something goes wrong with his quirk and he reappears somewhere he was previously (like multiplayer with baaad lag). Quirk suppressors? Eraserhead?
Sometimes, a QTE triggers while fighting a villain up-close and he has to repeat the event until he gets it right. (Meanwhile the villain is fully aware, both freaking out and cursing him out while being stuck in the loop.)
He can sell stuff he found to stores in the Mall and somehow they are compelled to accept this. He regularly exchanges tree branches and random junk he found laying around for Yen.
Etc etc.
Basically, the Gamer, but no stats/levelling up/creating dungeons, only the ridiculous game logic & glitches.
"I pity the person who is burdened with this responsibility, but thank you." Imagine having to take care of him, of all people. They'd have to see him at 3 am stealing apple slices and peanut butter jars from the kitchen wearing an All Might onesie and blasting FNAF remixes in his headphones. He knows this because it's exactly what Aizawa-sensei saw three months ago, and either he forgot about it or he forced himself to never mention that cursed moment ever again.
I cannot for the LIFE of me find this fic despite asking around on discord and looking through my bookmarks so I thought if anyone might be able to find it its redditors. The only thing I can tell you besides the excerpt from the text above is that it was on ao3.
Happy hunting!
I vaguely remember the person PROBABLY posting it on ao3? (or webtoon) any website is fine
But it basically has shigiraki and izuku switching bodies, and at some point they learn if they don’t switch back they’ll die
in the story it also showed tomura representing a moth, while izuku represented a butterfly I believe.. and they were in this flowerfield?
that’s all I remember.
Other than that, if you have any fanfics like that I would love to read them!
GROUND RULES: I'm talking what the actual PLOT of the story is, so nothing lame like "it's a woobie izuku story where shinso is in 1a" because that's not a plot, that's just a thing that happens. I want you to come up with the stupidest, dumbest possible story.
Make some utter garbage, you'll feel better after.
So like 1A going on mission to save their classmate, something like that. Extra points if it has TodoBaku friendship or (maybe) Todoroki siblings as the victims (so like Natsuo gets kidnapped as an example). Fight scenes are a must.
Or, Midoriya has Hakari's Cursed Technique and Domain Expansion
Some of you may know that last week I made that semi-controversial post where I ranted about fanfics centered around the Character Bashing genre. Thinking back on it, it was definitely mean-spirited and harsh and I understand why I received criticism for it. So, I'm now here to explain myself as well as address the mistakes I made with that post.
First of all, I apologize to anyone who I offended with comments like "that side of the fandom" and "I now understand why MHA's Western fanbase is considered the worst by the Internet". It's no excuse, but I wrote the rant when I was angry. I don't usually think straight when I'm filled with fury, and I might say things that I don't fully mean. There's nothing inherently wrong with enjoying writing or reading Bashing fics and I'll admit, I'm guilty of venturing into some of them myself, which I'll get into more next. Regardless, I'm deeply sorry for what I said and I assure you I don't think that way anymore.
Now, some have given me the argument of "Don't like, don't read", which I'll admit is valid in this case. However, I have the issue of sometimes letting my curiousity get the best of me, and lead me to look at something even if I know that I many not like it. I have learned now not to do that and just focus on stuff that I may actually like, but it's still not easy for me to forget about what I didn't like because here's the thing; I'm on the Autism spectrum, so of course I tend to have what most people call hyperfixations. And since I'm hyperfixating on MHA at the moment (Imagine hyperfixating on a series that already ended lol), I look at the fanfics to fullfill my hyperfixations, and tend to get the portrayals of the characters I don't like stuck to my head easily, and they haven't left yet. Now this isn't to say that it's entirely the fault of my Autism or the Bashing genre and people who partake in it that this is the case. This is entirely on me and I'm willing to accept that.
And yes, I know that Character Bashing, or as TV Tropes calls it "Ron The Death Eater" is common in every single fiction fandom out there, but I just felt like at the moment it was far worse with MHA because as I said in my rant, for the longest time before I got to know the series properly, I just assumed from what little I saw that it was similar to most of the Bashing fanfics in that it had every single character except for maybe Inko, Ochako and All Might antagonizing Izuku throughout the series. Again, I don't exactly know myself either why I thought that way, but it happened. And after I was delightfully proven wrong after actually getting into it, I kind of felt hurt seeing all the bashing fanfics that turn everyone against Izuku for no reason since Izuku's grown on me as a character (I know, liking the main character is cliche) and I didn't like reading him suffer at U.A. when he already had a whole childhood of that in Canon. Now I should reiterate, I've gotten complaints about this as well and yes, I understand that fanfics are allowed to be different from Canon material and it is not fair for me to gatekeep what people should enjoy.
So again, I apologize for my harsh words with that rant. I'm going to still keep it up because it's my opinion and I'm allowed to express it, but I have edited it to not be as mean-spirited as how it originally came off. Once again I'd like to apologize to everyone who'm I've offended, and I hope you'll accept my apology even if I'm not looking to be forgiven. Have a good night you all.
I remember everything but the name.
It was on FF.net
Inko is kidnapped and the Bakugo's hospitalized
Uraraka is hospitalized and then kidnapped
Izuku visits All-For-One and gets Overhaul's location, talks with Stain who gives him the location of one of his storage units
Izuku meets Knuckleduster
Toga finds Uraraka and Inko
All-Might is basically my favorite character, and I really wanna see fics that are based around him, or where he gets to shine.
Thank you to anyone who drops a recommendation.
Ochaco was recommended by Thirteen, Fat Gum recommended Kirishima and Back draft recommended Mina.
Aizawa recommended Shinso but he still didn't pass
Prefer ao3 fic where izuku and maybe some of his friend are in space
maybe they're colonizing the planet or something
My Halloween special has just reached its climax! Fifth chapter is up with the finale being posted tomorrow for Halloween! Despite the story being in a crossover universe, this is a standalone story mainly dealing with MHA elements so I hope people come and check it out for the holiday! (And, also, Tokoyami's Birthday...)
Here's the synopsis of the story:
During one of Class 1-A's rescue exercises, a child is found in the ruined buildings of the USJ.
No one knows how he got there. There are no reports of a child with his description missing. And, no one is able to locate his parents.
However, all of that falls on the wayside once it's discovered what Quirk the child has:
Moral Compass.
The ability to turn heroes into villains and vice versa.
Soon enough, there are Pro Heroes causing chaos while criminals suddenly find themselves running toward danger.
Now, Fumikage Tokoyami, Reiko Yanagi, and Oboro Shirakumo find themselves in the center of this mystery.
Who is this child? Where did he come from? Why hasn't this Quirk been discovered before? But, most importantly, can the three of them fix all of the damage before a new Symbol of Evil can rise?
And, like I said, we got all sorts of MHA elements here for a crazy story.
Armored All Might vs OFA! Tokoyami, a resurrected Oboro vs an evil Aizawa, Lady Nagant vs Snipe, Vigilante Twice vs Ectoplasm... Oh yeah. And, Yanagi vs Ghosts!
(If that doesn't get you excited, I don't know what will!)
Check out the story here! Would love any feedback!
Kind of a first for me, but this was just a an idea I had, and scribbled up. It’s nowhere near a final draft, and I hardly think I’m the first to have the idea of Izuku being a Kryptonian.
Guess I just wanted to share at least the bare bones of the idea to see what others thought. The basic idea I’m going with is the obvious MHA/DC crossover, with elements of each blending over, like Superman being a licensed, Global hero without any set jurisdiction.
Some of the other ideas I’m thinking is some of the reasons Izuku is attempting a hero school is not just to make friends, but also to live among humans like Clark did, as well as gain proper control of his powers.
I’m kind of tied on whether or not I want UA to be aware of his Kryptonian origins, though they would probably figure it out eventually, even if Izuku only uses his flight and super strength. I’m thinking it would be better if he’s hiding it at least for the time being, because of Superman’s enemies, and what they would do if they discovered he had a family.
So anyway, the following is just a rough of a rough bit I wrote, and thought it would be interesting to share.
——
Izuku waited until it was late, well past when everyone else was asleep, when he stepped out onto his room’s balcony.
He looked up, and at the full moon. The sun’s rays shining off it weren’t quite as effective as direct sunlight, but he still felt his body absorbing them, and increasing his power.
When he was ready, he took a deep breath, and flew into the air, taking off slowly, so as not to make a sound, and then, as soon as he was high enough, as his father had trained him, he shot off like a rocket, into the sky.
He didn’t stop until he was just at the edge of Earth’s atmosphere, and just hovered for a while, looking down at Japan, outlined by the lights of the various cities and townships.
It all seemed so small when he was up there, the people not unlike ants, but then he remembered his father’s words.
“They’re still people. Just like us.”
Izuku perked up when he heard his father’s voice, and smiled when he saw him floating just a few feet away, dressed in his iconic red and blue costume, his cape floating aimlessly with a wind to blow it.
“Hey!” He said happily.
Clark Kent, Superman, smiled back at his son. “Decided to go for a midnight flight?”
“Yeah. Sorry, did I alert radar?” Izuku said, looking around for the Justice League satellite.
“You did, but I was already in the area. I was just visiting your mother.”
That made Izuku smile even more, as he knew how busy his father was, being one of the few global heroes, so anytime he managed to visit them was always precious.
“How’s school going? Today was your first day, wasn’t it?” Superman asked.
“It was good. My classmates are all nice.”
“Are you still keeping your Kryptonian half a secret?”
Izuku frowned, and hesitated.
Clark floated over to him, and set a hand on his shoulder, “You don’t have to be ashamed of your power. But I’m glad you’re still taking the time to live among people, even future heroes.”
“Thanks Dad.” Izuku said, “I think I am getting the hang of using my power in percentages like you said. I used ten percent today on the field, and we did some athletic events like in middle school.”
“That’s good. What powers are you using?”
That actually pleased Izuku. He knew his father could, and probably did keep tabs on him. The idea that he wasn’t actively watching, however, made him feel like he was at least trying to trust him.
“Super strength, and flight, since those are the most useful. I used a little speed, but I didn’t break any barriers.” As in sound barriers, as Izuku had once done by accident when he was little.
Clark nodded. “Good job. Just like we talked about. Think of the school as your way of getting more control, rather than stronger.”
Just then, Izuku felt more than he saw the beginnings of the sun coming around the horizon. It was still several more hours before dawn in Japan, but in that moment, the father and son floated side by side, silently watching as the massive orb of light slowly shined around the Earth, and onto them both.
It felt amazing, Izuku thought. He even closed his eyes, and just bathed in it for a moment, before his father spoke.
“Careful on your solar intake. Too much at once, and you could become too powerful.”
“Oh,” Izuku suddenly felt self conscious, “Sorry Dad.”
Clark grinned, “You should head back down, and get some sleep. It’s not good to exist solely on the sun at your age. You’re still part human.”
“Yes sir.” Izuku said. He looked back down at Japan. He was fairly sure he knew where UA was.
Luckily, his father took pity on him, and flew back down with him, doing some course correction, until the school’s iconic building was in sight.
The father and son said their goodbyes, and Izuku silently flew back to his balcony, which still felt small, almost insignificant.
He got back into his room, and saw the little framed photograph on his desk, which was of him as a little kid, with his family, standing on an American farm. His Japanese mother, Inko, his father, Clark Kent, and his grandparents, all smiling together.
Remembering that moment, of meeting his grandparents, and getting to help out on the farm made him smile, and then he truly began to understand.
His room, though it was temporary, was still his home, and his classmates, who were all human, were his people.
Midoriya Izuku is a horror writer.
He creates monsters/myths that he releases on the internet for people to read along with are for people to look at.
His art is a mixture of liminal photography and realism.
But what he doesn’t know is that the monsters he created has started materializing into the real world.
When he meets one of his creations, a classic ghost girl his first creation too, he just thinks it’s someone cosplaying. He took a pic with them and posted it on the internet.
None of his creations attack him, others are free game.
This isn’t the work of a quirk, no one knows what brought them here. No one knows why their here or who made them.
What would be horror author deku’s internet name, my best is FrightMight.
It can be fics where the power system from another verse leaks into MHA's, the character(s) end up in the other world or the fic takes place in that world and the characters are from said world, just give me the best you got

Dr. Garaki’s confession has proven fruitful. Izuku “Deku” Midoriya’s current medical condition shorty after the war was indeed the result of a Quirk within Shigaraki’s possession.
Finding Deku’s comatose body on the battlefield was… hard on us. Medical scans show that he’s still breathing, but there’s minimal brain activity, almost as if his psyche has left his body. Considering what we learned later on, that might as well have been the case.
The Quirk in question “split” its target, breaking them down into fragments of themselves. The Hero, Deku, was gone, reduced to a sleeping husk, while the facets of his personality, his imagination, his dreams, his stray thoughts and impulses, all of them given physical form. To quote Garaki, “This was Shigaraki’s last act of defiance: Turning your Hero into an army of monsters.”
So far, five of them are in UA’s custody. Which brings us to the second problem. The rest of them are either in hiding, or have already been captured by Nine’s Own Goal.
For whatever reason, their goal seems to be to capture as many of Deku’s fragments as possible. They employ tactics similar to those of the pre-PLF League of Villains, but seem to be operating on a budget and international level of Humarise.
Captured members have been useless in interrogation. They’re as fanatical as Stain’s followers of old, willing to spend the rest of their lives behind bars rather than to spill any locations. However, they do ramble on about how Deku is some sort of chosen “savior.” Their last attack on Musutafu has proven that they’ll stop at nothing to obtain every one of Deku’s fragments.
In summary, we’re dealing with a war on two fronts: The irrational creatures spawned from Midoriya’s split psyche, and the insane Hero worshippers trying to bring back their so-called god.
Deku… I miss you.

So, I have a villain I'm writing who's quirk is called "Manipulation" It lets him gaslight, manipulate and coerce people very effectively, he wants to have the girls of 1-A work under him as a Sinister Six type organization, so I need ideas on how this villain would turn each of the girls to villainy via gaslighting and manipulation, the story takes place right after the prison breaks start happening. Your ideas are appreciated.
"Wow!" Izuku says, just after he blew up a mountain, "Now I can be a real hero, even without a quirk!"
Immediately he's kidnapped by loads of quirkless people, who explain to him that they can all do that. It's just a thing for quirkless people, but if he goes out there and starts being a hero with it then the cat's out of the bag, and they can't let that happen.
Instead of Izuku being a chick magnet and having 1 zillion girlfriends, Inko is the irresistible one and has 50 Pro Hero girlfriends, all of whom adore Izuku and train him to be the best Quirkless Hero ever, so much so that when All Might offers him One for All Izuku's like "...nah, save it for somebody who needs it."
What method do you use for Izuku to speak when you're before the training arc happened and his confidence increased. Do you make him stutter or stammer? And why do you think is your method better?
