CNAs, where do you work and how do you like it? Im trying to look for a job but really want a place where there is no drama and coworkers are willing to help me if needed

It's my first time driving in the winter and I drive an 11th Gen Honda Civic(FWD) and it has its original all season tires.

Today, I was exiting the highway and turning right at the light by north of Veterans highway and my car slid while turning and my car also lost grip on the brakes. I was going about 10-15 mph and now I know I definitely should have gone slower. Also don't know if today was just an exception because maybe the roads weren't prepped for winter yet?

EDIT: I also doordash as a side hustle I do almost every single day so there's that to take into consideration too

I’m trying to plan a romantic get away for my partner and I for her Christmas present. This year has been extremely financially difficult on us so the budget for the trip is $600(I’ve been saving since July) with that being said my options are limited. I came across Sunset Inn and Suites in Clinton IL, they have some awesome looking themed rooms, and I could get 2 nights for less than $600. Has anyone ever stayed there? I’m looking for brutally honest reviews please.

My younger brother and I moved to BloNo this year and are interested in finding a D&D group to play in-person with. I am looking to run a short adventure (homebrew setting and campaign) to get to know people and see who we vibe with before committing to long term campaigns with and/or trying other TTRPGs.

Hiii idk where to post this but I’m a female College student on my second year of college pursuing a bachelor’s in Biology to use for Med School. I just very recently got out of a relationship where I really couldn’t interact with others or have friends even before the relationship I never had any friends (long story) but I’ve been finally set free. I enjoy working out here and there, I like reading, I like watching anime, and I love love science. I’m interested in becoming more social and coming out of my shell I could also use some besties or friends I could hangout with. And if anybody knows of opportunities where I can volunteer and contribute to the community I would really appreciate it really want to put myself out there been down in the dumps. Is it just me or has hyvee cut back lately on fuel points they give out. Today for instance I spent over $250 and only got 2 cents credit? I’ve noticed this over the last few months, over the last few years it seems like they were giving out more? Maybe due to gas coming down again? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m looking for something to do on New Year’s Eve. I’m a single in my 60s and think I might want to do something this year. Probably something in the afternoon or early evening so I’m not dealing with intoxicated people as much I usually stay home and avoid the roads but this year I want to do something different.

My Mom has Parkinson's and anxiety problems. She's 80 and lives at Mercy Creek Assisted Living. I think it's a lovely facility. Everyone is very nice and it's a calm relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately my Mom hates it there. She dislikes the food and thinks it's too much like an "old folks home".

Does anyone know of any quality assisted living facilities in the Twin Cities that are less "old folksy", with decent food yet still with on-site nurses to come if the residents need help?

I’m looking for cheap and fun date ideas in blono. Early 20’s not much of drinkers and poor lol. I’m out of the loop of all the different things that leave or pop up in and around blono. I’m just looking for a fun maybe unique way to surprise someone on a date.

When we first moved here Los Portrillos was our go-to. After 3 instances of credit card fraud and/or unauthorized charges linked to their location, we switched to Hacienda Leon. They are solid, but I went the other day for lunch and had chips and queso, one taco and a soda and the total was $21 before tip. Their prices are just skyrocketing and we just can’t afford it. We don’t love Tony’s, Pablano Burritos, or El Porton. Nothing against them, just aren’t what we’re looking for. I also have a pea allergy and I love Mexican rice, so pea free rice is something I always look for 🤣

Edit: I recently tried Ancho & Agave and they were amazing, but again, they are a pricier sit down location, and were kind of looking for more weeknight dinner/takeout vibes☺️

Would usually go the slow route of posting on FB Marketplace, but I’m short on cash at the moment. I’ve been given a much better computer by a friend and have no need for my PC. I’d keep it around if, again, I weren’t short on cash.

Very odd request. Does anyone know of a local business that can deliver a stuffed animal inside of a balloon? I don’t live in the area and am having no luck finding anything online.

Wife and I are considering s move to BloNo from Oregon though we have not visited yet. We will do that soon. I grew up in NW Indiana but my family all live in St Louis area now. Wife and I love visiting Chicago. BloNo seems like a good place near both and affordable, etc.

What do you like/dislike about living there? Would be especially interested in hearing from other that have relocated from out of state.
