The title is 100% true, but I used it mainly to grab your attention. Here's the reason behind my traffic: I pin my articles to the top of certain posts on my Subreddit which is R. Howtolooksmax, which is growing rapidly—around 1,000 new subscribers every 24 hours. Some posts are getting 500k+ views. However, I fully understand this is not normal and will not last forever.
One strategy I used to leverage this traffic, aside from redirecting through AdSense, was to increase my visibility on Google. I think this paid off, especially because I took a general article and shared it multiple times on different posts, including linking it to other posts on my Subreddit. As a result, when users search for specific keywords on Google (Looksmaxxing Guide for Women), both my Reddit post (which ranked as the number 1 image on Google and has 134k views) and my website article appears on the first page of Google search results.
Because almost all of my traffic comes from Reddit, I want to expand to other platforms to avoid over-reliance on Reddit. My niche focuses on improving appearance, and I believe it appeals to both men and women. To reach a wider audience, I plan to use Pinterest to target women with engaging pins and YouTube videos to connect with the male audience.
The challenge is that I've never used Pinterest before, and I’ve never created a YouTube video where I show my face. But now, I'm learning how to create Pins by watching tutorials. I have tons of video ideas, and while I know I don't need to show my face, I believe it would make a stronger connection with the male audience and will allow me to make a personal brand of myself if they like my content. I’ve already announced the YouTube channel, and surprisingly, seven people have subscribed even though I haven’t posted any videos yet, which I think is pretty crazy!
For my Pinterest account, I want to use a face that resonates with the audience for the same reason. Since I’m not a woman, I believe it's better to feature an image of someone who closely resembles the target audience. Woman, 28 years old, Western, living in the US. This will make the Pins feel more authentic and trustworthy, which will help build credibility and improve the click-through rate.
To free up more time, here’s what I do: For my articles, I come up with the ideas myself, but I’ve recently hired writers from Bangladesh on Fiverr to write them, allowing me to focus on other tasks. It costs me around 13 euros per a 500 word article. Additionally, I’m looking for moderators based in North or South America for my Subreddit, so I don’t have to wake up to approve or decline around 50+ posts in the moderation queue. As well as looking through it during the day.
I know I'm still a complete noob when it comes to writing, SEO, WordPress, and everything related to blogging, as well as creating strategies to increase traffic. That's why I have a few questions that I'm sure some of you can help me with. Here they are:
Pin Design: "What types of Pinterest pin designs have been most effective for driving traffic to articles in niches like self-improvement or lifestyle? Are there any specific styles or formats that you’ve found work particularly well?"
Pinterest Growth: "Since I’m new to Pinterest, what are the biggest mistakes I should avoid when building my account and creating pins to ensure steady growth and prevent shadowbanning?"
YouTube Channel and Pinterest: "Do you think it’s a good strategy to separate my focus on YouTube and Pinterest to target different audiences, or would it be better to combine them into one cohesive approach?"
Time Management: "Do you have any tips for prioritizing what’s most important when managing multiple platforms? Also, how do you handle delegating tasks—both paid and unpaid—to free up more of your time?"
If you have any other tips or advice, I’d love to hear them! I'm open to any suggestions that could help me grow and manage my efforts more effectively.
I used ChatGPT to clarify and simplify the information in this post.
I would like to share my blogging progress and what I have accomplished so far.
In my first month, I earned £0.65. After posting about it on Reddit, I experienced a spike in traffic. However, since then, the traffic has declined. I haven't dedicated enough time to the project and blogging, resulting in lower earnings in the following months, with a current total of £1.74.
Initially, I was optimistic about funding my project through blogging. However, it seems unlikely now, so I am giving less attention to the blogging aspect. I plan to continue blogging but will focus more on the project itself.
I am venturing into unfamiliar territory and need assistance. I am starting with the Google SEO stack but am unsure if I am doing it correctly. I have a few questions and would appreciate any advice.
Goal: Get people to use the app.
Note: The app is still an unstable experimental proof-of-concept and not ready for production use. I want to get people to use it to see the results. i dont expect this to result in my project being successful, this approach is more to get a baseline for managing expectations.
Here is what I have configured so far (any advice on best practices would be greatly appreciated):
Hey Redditors!
I run a poetry blog called Mecella, where we've published over 40 articles and 110 poems so far. It's been an amazing journey, but I know there's always room to grow.
For some context: I focus on modern and contemporary poetry, and my goal is to create a space where poetry lovers can discover and share meaningful work. I’ve recently started a Facebook group where readers can share their poetry to be featured on the blog.
If you’ve run a blog or are a regular blog reader, I’d love to hear:
Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions!
P.S. If anyone wants to check out the blog, Mecella, and offer feedback, I’d appreciate it. 😊
Hi everyone, I’m building a tool that scrapes articles for a search keyword, extracts related keywords, and scores them based on occurrences (title, headers, body) and semantic similarity. I then compare my extracted keywords to those from Surfer SEO and Clearscope, achieving ~60% overlap.
My challenge: I can’t effectively re-rank my keywords to ensure the 60% overlap appears in my top 100 results.
Do you think my approach is solid? How would you improve it? I’m considering training a tabular ML model for re-ranking—what parameters would you recommend? I’m new to this, so any guidance is appreciated!
I have 2 relatively new sites both on bluehost but after seeing someone’s comments earlier about how bad it is I’m thinking of changing.
How would I do this?
Mysterious flying objects have been spotted overhead, leaving residents across the East Coast filled with concern and confusion. Calls for military intervention have followed these frequent #DroneSightings, sparking a national conversation.
But this isn’t the plot of “War of the Worlds.” Instead, these sightings involve numerous unidentified drones appearing over #ResidentialAreas, #RestrictedAirspace, and #CriticalInfrastructure.
The sightings have placed intense pressure on federal agencies to address the issue, as local and national officials urge calm. Federal authorities have emphasized that there is no evidence suggesting these drones pose a #NationalSecurity threat.
On Friday, drone activity temporarily closed runways at New York’s Stewart International Airport for about an hour. Governor Kathy Hochul expressed frustration, stating, “This has gone too far.” She directed the #NewYorkStateIntelligenceCenter to investigate the #DroneIncidents and coordinate with federal law enforcement.
In a joint statement, the #FBI and the Department of Homeland Security reassured the public, saying, “There is no evidence at this time that the reported #DroneSightings pose a national security or public safety threat.”
Despite these reassurances, local officials in New Jersey, such as those in #MorrisCounty, have called for the federal government to marshal all resources, including the military, to address the #UnauthorizedDrones flying over the region.
Reports of #UnidentifiedAircraft have come from six states, including #NewJersey, #NewYork, #Connecticut, #Pennsylvania, #Massachusetts, and #Virginia.
The sightings began on November 18 in Morris County, New Jersey, and have continued nightly. Residents have frequently reported seeing drones hovering in clusters over neighborhoods, military sites like #PicatinnyArsenal, and even President-elect Donald Trump’s #BedminsterGolfCourse.
Other sightings include drones over #NavalWeaponsStationEarle in New Jersey and critical infrastructure such as the #VerrazzanoBridge and #FortWadsworth in Staten Island.
Federal officials believe many sightings involve small, legally operating manned aircraft mistaken for drones. #HomelandSecurity Director Alejandro Mayorkas stated that there’s no evidence of malicious activity or a foreign origin, but he added, “We cannot ignore the sightings.”
Local officials remain skeptical, with some videos showing clusters of drones flying in coordinated patterns. This has led to calls for stronger #DroneRegulation and more tools for local authorities to manage #UnmannedAircraftSystems.
The #Pentagon has dismissed speculation of foreign adversaries being involved, while the #FAA and #FBI continue to lead investigations. Some officials, like Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, have deployed #DroneDetection systems to monitor the activity.
Meanwhile, calls for the Biden administration to enhance drone oversight have grown louder. Hochul urged Congress to pass the #CounterUASAct to better equip states in managing these sightings.
Despite assurances from officials, the #DroneMystery continues to unsettle residents and spark debate about #AviationSafety and national security. Federal and local authorities are working to determine the drones’ origins and purpose while emphasizing that "shooting them down" is not a viable solution due to safety risks.
What do you think about the #UnidentifiedDrones hovering over the East Coast? Is enough being done to address these concerns? Share your thoughts in the comments below, and stay tuned for updates on #BreakingNews and #DroneSightings

I'm working on a WP blog that's pretty photo-heavy, and I'm trying to figure out my workflow. Currently, I just use Google photos to edit them, and then download to my PC and upload to Media Library, and add titles and alt text etc manually, which is... not ideal. I'm willing to pay reasonable prices if needed.
Features that I want:
Any recommendations?
Hi! I'm pretty new to running my own own blog site and I just started indexing each of my blogs to help them rank in Google. Some of them were successful, but then I received this notice from Google Search Console:
Search Console has identified that some pages on your site are not being indexed due to the following new reasons:
Excluded by ‘noindex’ tagBlocked due to other 4xx issueAlternate page with proper canonical tag
When I went into the Google Search Console to see what hadn't been indexed, the examples were kind of strange links such as "https://myblogdotcom/tag/something/feed" or "https://myblogdotcom/(search\_term\_string)" basically, none of the "error" ones were actually blog posts. Is this something that I can just ignore or does it need to be resolved?
While I have a lot of experience with content writing, marketing, etc. I am not very experienced with IT-ish things and would be open to hiring to help get the Google indexing stuff squared away in the beginning but I'm not even sure how to go about finding someone for that.
Any advice appreciated, thanks!
First and foremost, I must say that I have learned a lot from this community and much of what I will say here comes from the advice I've received and others' experiences that I've read, so thank you all. Hopefully my post will help encourage and inform other new bloggers like those before have aided me.
Perpetual Girlhood is a literary website that I created in August 2024 as a girl with no social media following or previous connections. One day, I decided that creating a website would be a way to put my creative energy to good use. So I got started.
I read a lot of forums and watched a lot of YouTube videos on the topic of blogging. After hours of research, I signed up with Bluehost and created a website layout on Wordpress. And like that, the hard stuff was done.
It has now been five months since Perpetual Girlhood has come into existence. I’ve been learning as I go, and though I still do not generate substantial income from my site, I now know what I need to do to monetize. But first, the stats as of December 2024.
- 1,544 views since Perpetual Girlhoods inception in August 2024
- 35 published blog posts as of December 2024
- 3 email subscribers
It’s not much, but it is progress.
I started and continue to work on Perpetual Girlhood because I dream of a future where I am fully self-employed and free to pursue that of which I am passionate. In this ideal future, I would be able to provide for myself completely from the income of my creative projects. And these creative projects would be able to keep coming and coming because I would exist in a stable place where my creativity is not limited by concern for finances or lifestyle.
I am hoping I can make it there someday while I’m young enough and still have time to enjoy a life I will have made for myself.
Instead of putting a little energy into a lot of things, I am focusing all of my energy on creating content for the blog, increasing exposure through Facebook and Pinterest, and getting other pieces of my creative writing published elsewhere. (In the last case, I am able to lead people to my blog by mentioning it in the bio that is included with my piece.)
As for monetizing my blog, I plan on including affiliate links–mainly through Amazon Associates–in some of my posts. I will not actively try to promote products–because I don’t, as a rule, support consumerism–but I will provide links to the books and other material I talk about.
Another method I am trying out is including a link to a Ko-fi account where people can donate money to help keep Perpetual Girlhood up and running. I do not want to display ads and ruin the user experience, so I am hoping Ko-fi could help cover the hosting of a domain and other such costs. As of now, I have not received anything through Ko-fi, but it is not hurting anything to have the link on my site.
I am also looking at creating digital products, though I am not sure yet what forms they would take. However, if I am offering a printable pdf file of a poem or some such thing that can be framed and hung, for example, I would price it between $1–5. At this rate, I could produce several products and keep prices low.
The number one tip I have learned from other bloggers is to build an email list. People who are subscribed to get emails from my blog, will be notified of the release of new blog posts and digital products. (As of now, I only have three subscribers.)
And, as always, I will continue to index new posts on Google Search Console as soon as they are published. This will help my content be found when people make related Google searches.
If you have any questions, tips, or encouragement, please leave them in the comments!
Hi everyone!
I’ve been thinking about starting a blog for a while now, and this time I’m serious about making it happen. I tried blogging years ago, back when it wasn’t as mainstream and monetization wasn’t an option. But now, I’m determined to do it right and eventually monetize my blog.
I’m planning to launch my new blog on January 1, 2025, and I’m leaning towards using WordPress.org. However, I’m unsure whether I should go with Bluehost, HostGator, or another affordable hosting option to start with, since I’m still a bit of a newbie when it comes to modern blogging. I’d like to keep costs low at the beginning, and then upgrade to a more premium host once I’ve got a better grasp on things.
Additionally, if you have any tips on getting started with a blog, I’d love to read them! I’m especially interested in things I should know as a beginner to set myself up for success from the start.
Thanks so much for your help—I really appreciate it!
Greetings! This is my 3-month blogging report. This month, despite many ups and downs, I received respectable views. There were problems with my blog being deindexed, and there was an attempt to hack it. But the silver lining is I learned a few things and got good views from Pinterest. Here are my details blogging report:
Tarffic ss: https://imgur.com/gallery/blog-views-ss-gOvBDEx
Google deindexed: So, I accidentally used my other blog's Rankmath SEO backup file. After a week, I realized I stopped getting impressions, and all my posts started to deindex. For the next few days, I searched for solutions but was unsuccessful. Then I looked at rankmath's Title & Meta option; all the meta description and site name were different. I quickly changed all the necessary settings.
Pinterest: While facing the deindex issue, I got all my views from Pinterest. Although the numbers are small, receiving views on Pinterest is a significant accomplishment for me.
Goal: My goal for next month is to write 3 or more blog posts. I am also working to resolve the deindex problem. I will work on both on-page and off-page SEO to get things back to normal.
I just want an opinion . I have a self help / entertainment blog which gets majority of its traffic from Pinterest . My account is at 10 million plus views but lately iam thinking of switching to Instagram and I feel like I can't balance both . So I have decided to sell my Pinterest account minus the blog . People who are in a similar niche would get a huge advantage using that . My question is
Is it a good idea ? Because I spent alot of time building my audience there and who knows what if instgram idea fails ?
How much can I sell an account with 10 million plus views and where can I sell it ?
Edit - after getting roasted in the comments i realise i should probably work out instgram before making such a move
I've been slowly getting back into the blogging scene, and I signed up for Canva premium when I was planning my wedding. I've decided to keep it and utilize the features for pins for my blog. I was curious to know if for the people who have Canva premium and use the premium templates. Do you keep the pictures and format as is and change the wording, or do you go all the way and change the picture and title?
If you've experimented just using the template photos and changing the words, how did those pins perform versus the ones where you changed the photos.
A company recently reached out to me requesting a feature on my website, that would essentially live on my site indefinitely to drive traffic to their website for product purchases. Can I charge them for this? And if so, what would be an appropriate fee?
Has anyone ever read Gail Graham’s blog driving chairman Bao? It’s my Roman Empire
the story of how I got to it is really long. I was grieving had a lot of time on the road and read the entire thing years ago, but I keep going back to it. She's such a sweet soul, slightly delusional, but so am I. The timeline is heartbreaking. It's such a random thing I found, and I'm curious if anyone else loved it as much as I did.
I run a news website that posts 3-5 articles daily. They are timely, have no AI, and are written with the audience in mind.
Here is the main issue, go to Google News and add this to the search field inurl:sitename.com* (must have the * If you were approved by Google as an official news site before and including 2019 your site will show up, if you made the website after 2019 it will not show up. It is a way of seeing if you are a true Google news-approved site. Pre 2019 I believe it was a manual approval. I learned this trick from other posts. I did not come up with this at all.
I have been doing research and found that in my niche, these sites are the only ones showing up in the News category! Here is how I tested this theory. ..
I am in the Disney Niche. I have done multiple keyword searches. For example (disney holiday popcorn bucket) I show up as number 1 in a Google search, but switch over to the Google News tab and the ONLY sites that show up are pre-2019 news-approved sites. I have only gone through so many pages, but by page 5 I stop looking. Each site listed in Google News is found doing the inurl:sitename.com*.
This happens no matter where I rank in the thick of things, and it isn't about where I rank, but more about those being the only ones showing up in the google news tab.
If you search for other sites in my niche created after 2019 they do not show up.
Has anyone else looked into this?
Dont get me wrong, I feel like for a new site I am doing decent. Could use more backlinks, and time brings more authority.
I feel my stats are very good to great all things considered.
8 Months in - Since May 1st, 2024
84.5k GSC Clicks
2.45 Million Impression
66.8k Google Discovery
876k Impression Discovery
Getting roughly 40-60k clicks a month now. Journey by Mediavine approved.
I just wanted to point out that my thirteenth week of blogging also happens to be the week of a friday the thirteenth which is kinda epic. It’s also the third week I've generated some revenue :). This week I made a grand total of $1.73 for a running total of $15.89. You can find the proof and more stat pictures here!
This time the revenue came from my outfit blog directly, as opposed to my outfit blog pinterest. My subscriber count has doubled this week and this reminded me of a great reason to use substack that I forgot when I was talking about using it to make a free newsletter for my blog- you get an extra amount of exposure from the substack app!
I also officially got accepted into the amazon affiliates program! What they do is they let you in prematurely and then if you make a sale they check your account and then decide whether or not to accept you. If you don’t make a sale in 4 months then you’re automatically declined. I guess I made it through wooooh!!!
I probably spent like 7 hours total working on my outfit blog this week since I've started adhering to a schedule, which is a sharp drop from the ~20 hours I was working a couple of weeks ago. It feels nice to get your blog setup to a point where you can start doing that :).
I literally don’t do much SEO myself, yet my website still ranks on page one. The key is making sure your site is user-friendly. Remember, Google is a user-centric platform, not a business-centric one.
Hi! I wanted to be transparent and share my income report for the first 10 days with Mediavine Journey.
Total earnings: $110.27 Average RPM: $8.81
Not what I was expecting but it’s better than nothing!
i didn't add meta tags in my post anyone known how can i do also my blog on wordpress and i used generate press theme paid version any one known tell me.
I'm reaching out for some help with searching on Medium.com. I've been using the Medium.com platform and I'm trying to narrow down articles based on specific filters like tags (e.g., leadership), engagement metrics (claps or comments), and time frames. Essentially, I want to find top-written articles on certain topics within a particular period.
However, I couldn't find an advanced search function like the ones on Twitter or Google that would allow me to do this. I'm wondering if I'm missing something or if there's a different way to achieve this on Medium.
Has anyone else struggled with this? I'd love to hear from you if you:
Any advice, tips, or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated!
my impression per day is 1500 to 1800
Looking for bloggers where I can publish a guest post or link insertion. DR +40 and traffic :+1K..Niche:fashion,Diy, parent, math, education, finance, tech marketing. If you have paid or free DM me.
The general answer seems to be that I should choose WP in any case, but hear me out. I don't really aim to make money with my blog, it's essentially a portfolio for me to put some pieces I write. My main aim is just to be able to show it to people in case I apply to write for some organisations.
Of course, I won't mind if I got traffic or even some money from the blog down the line, but I don't hope for that and I understand how difficult that is. Right now, I'm just trying to focus on my content and making sure that the remaining resistance is minimal, so wix has seemed pretty good, it made a good looking site with very little effort.
But from all I see online, WP seems to be very widely selected as the better option, and I do love open source too. I haven't published my site yet, but it's ready and I can do it in the coming week. So I just wanted to ask, should I switch to WordPress? And how much work would it take to create a site of a similar appearance as that of my wix site (a home page with some basic animation, previews of blog posts with separate pages for each post, social media links and such).
I do have tech knowledge, but again, I don't want the site creation to be too high effort of a task.
I what does everyone do about on page seo ?
I am now slowly going back over my 100 articles I wrote with no thought to seo and slowly fixing them up .
But my site seems to have other technical issues and am trying to understand how to fix .
Has anyone started a blog and made it profitable within the last two years? Every blogger’s article I read about starting a new blog in 2024 has already been blogging for years. It’s hard to take advice from people who don’t understand starting fresh in a new market.
It seems like most people who skip over any emails you send, right?
Hello. I have been struggling to build good backlinks. Please if someone can guide, would really appreciate it. I have a blog in automotive niche.
Most creators (myself included) make what they think people want and hope it gets shared.
Pro creators seem to understand their audience’s psychology and create content they know will get shared.
The New York Times surveyed 2,500 people and found 6 types of online sharers, each with unique motivations.
Here they are (plus how to create content tailored to them):
6 More Sharing Insights The NYT Survey Found
Key insight: Tailoring your content to one of the six personas should (in theory) increase your chances of getting shared — maybe even going viral.
People share to help, connect, or spark ideas.
Tap into these motivations and let your content do the rest.
If you enjoy content like this, I go into more detail on content marketing psychology in a newsletter (see profile).
What do you think of these sharing personas? Helpful? Obvious?
