I just got a BlackBerry 9360, but I need your help!

So I just entered to the BlackBerry realm, after watching it's amazing movie. Surprisingly I got this cool BlackBerry that works pretty good. But I have a little problem... and it's about the apps

You see, there's a lot of already installed apps, like YouTube, Twitter or even Windows Live Messenger, which all of them obviously don't work. Also the web browser can't even enter to the most simple websites. So the thing is that maybe SOME of these apps have any 3rd party alternatives or maybe there's any tweak or method to getting them back to life.

These are the apps that I'm interested to revive:

  • YouTube
  • Twitter
  • FaceBook
  • Whatsapp
  • Internet Browser (actually this is the most important one on the list)
  • Music player (I know that there's already one on the device, which it works, but I'm searching for a better one)
  • 3rd party App Store (maybe? I don't know... honestly it's just for installing a couple of games lol)

And that's everything for now! If you have any useful information about it, please let me know in the comments section! That's all, thanks for reading :)

Upgrade from Version 10.3.3.2163 to something later?

I have a blackberry Q10 which I use in offline mode as PDA for MP3s, taking notes etc when I don't want to be online.

The current version it has is 10.3.3.2163. Online I saw that there are later versions of BB10. Should I bother about figuring out how to upgrate it? Or is it basically the same as the latest version?

Does any BlackBerry support 4G or 5G network? Or is it possible to make it support one?

I was planning on getting one, but suddenly, when researching, I've come across news that operators in my country are going to shut down 2G and 3G services in around 3 years.
I'm no expert whatsoever in this area. Would it be possible to "implement" support of 4G/5G network in a phone?

How do you use a Blackberry in 2025?

Genuine question. I was interested in switching from iPhone to a blackberry to help with phone addiction, focusing on the present, unplugging from social media, etc. However, I realize that I depend on my phone for other things, especially Google Maps. How do you all work around depending on a phone for things beyond calls/texts?

UK BLACKBERRY Network Compatibility Update - O2 UK 2G/3G switch off date and more.

CONFIRMED: From April 2nd 2025, O2 - UK will start switching OFF it's 3G network in Durham. This means that blackberry phones and older 3G only phones will only connect to 2G.

BlackBerry 10 devices will still be able to access 4G, but will drop to 2G for calls.

EE and Vodafone 3G have been shut down nationally, there is now no locations where their 3G network is active.

Vodafone have also started blocking some data access over 2G.

EE plans to shut down their 2G network "later this decade".

O2s 3G network will be turned off nationally within the next year, and they also plan to move people off their old 2G network not too long after. What that means however, is unknown as details are still very vague.

Is it still possible to use a blackberry now?

I’m looking to switch from iPhone to blackberry, I have an old Blackberry torch in great condition. I reset the entire thing yesterday and have tried creating accounts but kept getting a message saying that I need a SIM card. I’m not even sure what kind of SIM card works for it lol but is it still possible to boot it up if I purchase a sim? Thanks

In light of the tradewar with the US, Canada, and the world, need a public phone OS that is independant of Apple and Google.

Dear Blackberry. As a Canadian, I am frustrated that I am trapped by the hostile American technosphere during a time of heightened geopolitical intrigue and tribulation.

I humbly request that you build a smartphone OS that allows us to avoid the American state adjacent technosphere in the same way we avoid Chinese technology across sensitive areas.

Your existing product base is probably the closest thing to kickstart a public option to secure the Canadian public, and Europeans from an increasingly belligent US.

Help!!! Wi-fi and SIM IC problem in BB Key2

My beloved key2 was working flawlessly for past 5 years until one day it developed this problem.

I had plugged it to the charger. I dialled a number and removed the charger once they attended the call and was speaking for a minute when suddenly the call got cut and phone went to lock screen. It never happened. I checked and the mobile signal and wifi wasn't showing. I unlocked it and restarted and it came back again. I tried calling again but later found the two were off. I couldn't switch on wifi nor my sim was getting detected.

I multiple restarts, tried resetting but no response. Sim and wifi would work for few hours/ minutes and would turn off.

I gave it to a local technician and he mentioned the IC specific to network is corrupted and there is no way to repair it. He showed me the bandwidth in phone settings and it displayed '0' instead of some numbers.

Can someone help me if there is a way to fix. Other phones are no way close to the efficiency and sleekness of the key2. TIA

Managed to get mail working in Hub

I tried all the email providers and literally none would work directly with the Hub in Classic. But after some trial and error, I managed to get Kakao Mail (mail.kakao.com) working. Needed to create a specific app password and then enter the IMAP details. I tried doing the same in Outlook, Yandex, Yahoo, Gmail, Naver, GoDaddy Profesional Email etc but it didn't work.

I’m looking into buying a BB Bold 9790 and all i need is calling and texting, maybe putting some music on an SD card. Does the calling and texting still work? I’m in the Netherlands

BB10 Q5 Unkown error network connection

I recently bought a blacberry q5, it works pretty smoothly, I was able to install everything, however it can't read my sim. next to wifi there's a red x and "uknown error" written under it, when I open the network option in settings it says "the sim is not recognized" or something along the lines. Is the sim holder broken? could it be region locked? any ideas? thank you so much!

adding that the sim does work with other phones, and I tried to make the blackberry connection works with other sims but unfortunately nothing happened

Android browser that supports extensions and Blackberry's capacitive touch keyboard

Hello, I recently got a PRIV and I'm trying to find a browser that supports extensions (like uBlock Origin) as well as the keyboard gestures. Here is what I've tried:

  • Chrome works fine with the keyboard but it does not allow extensions.
  • Kiwi browser, but the last version that supports Android 6+ is outdated and the project is no longer maintained.
  • Firefox allows extensions but I can only scroll the settings page and not the actual webpage using the keyboard. I found this Github issue and bug that was filed. Doesn't seem like it was addressed.

Any Key2, KeyOne, or PRIV users that have suggestions for a browser that fits this criteria?
