Hey all! Driving down 65 leaving Nashville shortly. How is traffic with a UAB game at noon?
Hi! Just moved from 280 to downtown (near all the bars/restaurants on second street). I’m a runner and have been running all over downtown. Are there any areas/streets I should be avoiding safety wise?
Is there anyone heading to TN & / or NC in the next week or, two to help with recovery, search and rescue, help in general? If so, would anyone want to drive up together?
8.5 women's emergency. I need a pair of shoes for the evening. My boots broke.
Anyone have 1-2 tickets for Neck Deep Friday night @ Workplay that they won't be using??
this will be my first official concert that i’m actually excited to see! i was curious if anyone else in this subreddit will be there and what are everyone’s expectations for the set list.
What is taking so long? So many other states do it. It seems like we would have it set up by now.
Hop City Birmingham is celebrating 12 years in The Magic City with a big celebration this Sunday, October 6th from 12-8pm. Very rare and exclusive beers and wines will be available to enjoy while also eating food from three amazing food trucks. There will also be a silent auction with proceeds going to Girls Rock Birmingham. You definitely want to come by and get your hands on some of the beers we will have on draft. Hope to see y’all this Sunday.
Hey yall I’m looking for any gig work (brand ambassador events, etc) or part time work working 4pm-until. Could you all drop any recommendations?? I’m a nursing student and have a Bachelor’s degree in healthcare. I have experience as a server, hostess, and customer service representative.
wanted to go try out a new thai restaurant (and get some mango sticky) and it seems like neither of them are open? but there’s also no information about either listed anywhere for some reason?
I’ve tried multiple times to create an account for bham water works. The website never works and I just end up making a payment by phone. Anyone else having this issue?
Howdy everyone!
I'm in a band that's looking for a rehearsal space and we thought about looking into renting a storage unit to practice in. Would anyone here happen to know of any places that are fine with bands using the units? Most of us are on the south side of Birmingham, ranging from Glen Iris to Hoover, but we don't mind travelling a little bit.
Wassup B'Hammers lol..Tell me your plans? What's going on tonight? And the rest of the weekend? Hopefully this post will link some people together and we all have a good one.
This camera was not here a day ago, and was conveniently installed in our absence. The pole it is attached to is on our property, well within the property lines. There are many "no trespassing signs" as well. Is this legal?
Do you guys have any weekend plans? I'm trying to decide what new food spot to try.
Assume traffic is not an issue.
The strike that never put TP and paper towels supply in question is over. Thanks for ruining my trip to Costco
I posted this in the making friends thread but no one answered. So I figured I give it one last shot as a post lol.
Are there any book clubs for Manga and Comics around? I like regular books too but I tend to gravitate towards manga and comics more. I’d also love to meet others that are into it. And if there's not one, would anyone be interested in starting something like that with me?
Just a reminder, that the BRT Express (Bus Rapid Transit) stops right by Sloss Furnace and is currently free. If you are staying in Downtown/UAB Hospital area, this may be one of the quickest and easiest ways to get to the festival!
You can learn more about the BRT on Max Transit's Website.
You can also download the 'Go Birmingham' app on the Apple App Store or Google Play store to track the busses in real time!
22,000 in 24 hours. From Oct 4th at 3pm to October 5th, 3pm.
I got a call from my friend at Miles and apparently when Terri Sewell visited Miles today some guy parked a U-Haul that had a giant banner that read "Andrew Sewell is a convicted child predator and works at Miles college". There was apparently a large crowd and they sent police to surround the truck.
All the networks that were there for Terri Sewell's press conference all went to the truck, and Terri canceled her media conference. Last I heard it got towed because the band were doing a homecoming parade. The back of the truck was open and had a bunch of documents taped inside but no one I know could get a look in. Anyone have any updates? I haven't seen any news about it
Sent out a post with a text from my dad about possible gang related dangers. Never saw it before so I thought it might be legit but apparently Everyone thinks I'm a bot now. Not a fearmongerer, just misled.
Truly sorry guys, J
Hey Birmingham! A lot of you may have seen this already but we have created a Discord for geeks and nerds who want to share their geeky nerdness with others. We regularly host meetups for things like: craft nights, D&D, Magic the Gathering, walking groups, monthly brunch, and other casual hangouts at the various bars, breweries, and game shops in the Birmingham area. Cis women, nonbinary folks, and trans folks welcome. This Discord is primarily for folks who don’t fit well into the current male-dominated nerding space.
DM me or comment below for the Discord link!
had something come up, and im not able to attend. let me know if you want it.
Hi, I wanted to share a great research opportunity for the autism community in Alabama! Please check out the flyer for more details. Some spots have newly opened up, mostly for teens, but a few are also available for parents and professionals.
Edit: Here's the link to find out if you are eligible! https://uab.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1YZ5GfbkXgrHcRE

I am not allergic but my partner is. I Was thinking of getting a sphinx cat and was wondering if anyone in Birmingham had any and/or knew someone that might have some. Happy to adopt one of any age. Also goes without saying would love to adopt any cat but based on the situation it has to be hypoallergenic. We do have another cat and she needs a buddy.
