Stolen Bike?

We soft launched our 2025 calendar at last night's Holiday Lights Ride. Yes, there are 14 events! And this is subject to change. Details will be on our website and Eventbrite soon.
Hello everyone, I am looking to upgrade my winter kit but I would really like to try things on as I am between sizes. Can anyone recommend a store with a good apparel selection? Thank you. I am in Alexandria but can travel.
The bike/bus lane on H Street NW was painted a couple of months ago with a thick red elastomeric coating embedded with crumb rubber. It smelled horrible then and it still smells today.
I think it smells like what I imagine radioactive jell-o shot puke would smell like. Does anyone hate the smell more than me?
I needed to return something and grab a few things the other day. Saw that the DC Home Depot is a stones throw from the MBT and decided to take the Cargo Bike. I checked street view and found in the photo below that there was indeed a rack (source photo is from late 2022). It's a crappy rack, but it was something.
I rolled over there only to find that this rack no longer existed. Rode around the whole property to see if it had moved somewhere and couldn't find it. 2 other bikes also rolled up looking for a place to lock at the same time as me, so clearly there is demand. We all ended up locking up to randomness in front of the store like the shelter for the SOD and the displays racks for plants.
Did I miss something? Has the rack been relocated or is there a better lockup option people more local to this shopping center know about?
The smaller hardware stores around us are nice, but they don't always have what I need, so it would be nice to have a safe spot to park the bakfietz at this HD location.
I was hit by a car while biking through an intersection while I had right of way. The car was making a turn and hit me as I was in the middle of the crosswalk, with the green light. His tires ran over my back wheel and my legs were pinched under the wheel. I called the ambulance but declined to be taken to ER since I could walk. Also called police but they were taking forever to come. The ambulance crew said I can file a police report later in person at the station. I tried to do this but the police station refused to give me a report and told me just to deal with the driver's insurance directly.
The driver did admit fault at the scene and leave his insurance and license information. My bike is destroyed and will be very expensive to fix (it's an E-bike). My knee and hand are still in pain (where the impact was), and I plan on getting it checked it tomorrow if the pain is still there. Just wondering if this is common that the police refuses to file a report and what else I should be doing at this point.
Thank you.

Hi, this will be my first bike party in DC. I know we meet at 7:30 at dupont and ride at 8 pm. Wondering whether we end up back at dupont and when to expect the ride to end.
Also given the cold weather and being new to biking in the cold, any suggestions on what to wear. Wasn't sure at all if I'd get too heated up under a big jacket or if I should wear just long pants/shirt etc. Thanks!
Heads up that there is a virtual meeting tonight at 7 PM of ANC 1B's Transportation Committee where DDOT will be presenting updated near final plans for the Vermont Avenue protected bike lanes.
It's a small segment of PBL (red coloring above) but it would connect the existing 9th St cycle track to the future 11th St PBLs (blue coloring). It would also connect a growing high density population center right by the 9:30 Club southwest. And to put a cherry on top, it would reduce a six lane road down to four and slow down speeding drivers who love to go crazy late at night.
For some reason despite it not taking away parking and only being three blocks it has drawn the immense ire of cranks in the area who are upset about among other things, the aesthetics of what flexiposts look like in a "historic neighborhood." Btw this is the same group of cranks trying to shut down the 11th st bike lane.
Any support would be helpful!!
for real this time because last month the plans were delayed

You might remember this project in the news over the summer, when Petworth News reported that DDOT met with project opponents in a private meeting. This project at Grant Circle in Petworth would improve safety for pedestrians, create protected bike lanes around the circle, and adjust traffic flow on some surrounding streets (slide deck PDF). ANC4C voted for Alternative 1.
DDOT is advertising a new public meeting tonight, Wednesday 12/11, at Petworth Library at 6:30 pm. There’s also a Zoom link to call in virtually, but you have to register first. The details are on ANC4C’s website here: https://www.anc4c.com/anc4c-meetings
From the Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail Newsletter: New bike racks are coming to the Mount Vernon Trail in early 2025. Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail was one of 170 organizations selected to receive a Two for the Trails grant from Athletic Brewing Company in 2024. Named after Athletic Co-Founder and CEO Bill Shufelt's family tradition of taking along two brews to toast post-trail adventures, this program gives back up to $2 million annually to protect and restore outdoor spaces across the globe. Grant funds will be used to purchase 5 new bike racks on the trail. The new racks will replace the older “wheel bender” bike racks currently on the trail.
Example of a rack that will be replaced with a new U-Rack.

If you appreciate the improvements we've made on the Mount Vernon Trail, you can support us by volunteering or donating. All donations made before January 1st will be matched up to $11,200 thanks to some awesome super supporters.

Does anyone know if there is a way to gift a Cabi membership? It looks like they sold gift certificates at one point, but those currently say sold out…
Hi!
I have a work meeting in the Capitol Visitors Center tomorrow. Anyone know where the closest bike racks are? Per the CVC website there are some on first street but I can't picture them in my head and couldn't find them on google maps.
Bicycle racks are located near the entrance to the Capitol Visitor Center along First Street SE and First Street NE
Here is the against bike lanes one, I guess the pro will be tomorrow
The station on Wyoming was there yesterday morning and is gone now.
New water fountains are coming to the Mount Vernon Trail thanks to a $475,000 grant from the National Park Foundation. The new fountains will have water bottle fillers and remain operational year round. The Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail were able to offer $40,000 in matching funds to strengthen the grant proposal thanks to the investment of our donors. Installation is expected to occur in 2025 after NPS awards a contract.
The Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail will be working on more upgrades to rest areas in 2025 in addition to our weekly volunteer trail improvement events. If you'd like to support our efforts with a Giving Tuesday donation, it will be matched up to $7,600 thanks to six Mount Vernon Trail supporters.
