What it says up there LMAO
BBHS graduate here, back when I lived there there were confederate flags... mostly coming from the cult at calvery chapel. Sure would be nice to have a clean mountain free of white trash. How bout those Wijnhammers? Those were some real white trash cops. I remember Stan W (very bald very white) telling all us kids in Sunday School at First Baptist if you played stairway to heaven backwards on tge record player it was the devils music, then not long after pastor jim bought himself a nice shiny red sports car. Then there were lots of stories about Stans brother (father?) and his excessive use of force. Half my friends became girlfriend beating cocaine addicts and alcoholics and the other half escaped. Sucks I cant really call the place home since I'm embarrassed to be associated with the residents. Stabbings, shootings at A.V. nightclub, fights outside of Murrays... religious extremism, the fuckin karaoke guy jimmy turned out to be a pedophile.. whewwheeeeee, big bear huh. what a trip.
Are there any drop-in daycares in Big Bear for when my husband and I go skiing for a day? Thanks!
We had to opportunity to eat at the Boneyard Bar and Grill for Thanksgiving Dinner.
Never have I experienced anything like this.
Cold food, burnt tasteless pizza, long wait. Honestly worst eatery we’ve ever been to.
Sent back a salad because we had requested no egg. Spoke to server about the salad having egg. He sent salad back. We got salad back. It was the same salad as there was still pieces of egg in it.
Spoke to server on this and he threw his cooking staff under the bus saying he had nothing to do with it.
I'm coming up for a week starting Monday and wanted to see if anyone close to my level (3.0-3.5) wanted to play. Assuming there are courts available of course 🤣
Worth going to tomorrow? Since majority said the Snow Summit isn't.
I am going to visit my brother who lives in Apple Valley and I would like to take my niece (6) to go skiing. I will put her in a morning lesson and ski with her in the afternoon if all goes well but here are my questions:
I have never skied with a kid and it seems like a massive undertaking lol but I am determined to share my love for it with her, so any advice would be much appreciated!
My gf and I plan on going tomorrow but from someone's post, the snow got worse from last week. Is it worth going tomorrow?
This is my 4th Thanksgiving in big bear. Always stay in the same cabins close to the village. Just came back from having a glass of wine at barrel 33 to find that all of our drinks had been stolen, including our milk, off our front porch. My fault for thinking they were hidden behind the blow up turkey we thought would be fun to bring. I moved to California 4 years ago to help take care of a family member who passed away last month. It’s just drinks, I can get more, and whoever stole them won’t see this, but you truly never know what someone is going through. We came here to be in the mountains in a place that to us feels like our home away from home, to try and find some peace in the recent chaos, just to know someone came on our patio to help themselves while we already felt so down. I would have bought you anything you needed. I would have invited you over to have thanksgiving pizza and snacks since we were feeling too sad to actually have Thanksgiving dinner. To you, you saw an opportunity to help yourself. To me, you just gave me another reason not to smile when I’ve been trying to hard to feel better. I love you big bear. But tonight, I’m sad. I’ll still come back. And lesson learned. Cheers, friends.
Is big bear crazy on Black Friday. We just want to visit (coming from Ventura county) and walk around the town and get a late lunch / early dinner at peppercorn. We went to solvang on a Black Friday and it was a nightmare.
Me and my gf both bought big bear midweek passes this year. If my gf stayed at home and I brought a buddy to the mountain, would he be able to use my gf's pass? Do they check names? Faces? Would this work at any of the 3 resorts?
I’m aware that big bear is not a party town but coming up with a friend tonight and staying until Friday morning — was wondering if there was anything fun happening during this time at the bars or parties/events in general.
We have hardwood floors that are in need of a good sanding, staining and refinishing. Is there anyone in the Big Bear area that you would recommend. Everyone I am finding is down the mountain. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
Which ones better and why?
I live in Orange County and I’m going up just for the day. What time should I head out in the morning to avoid traffic. How busy will it get ?
Or any overnight parking for free ? Also What’s recommended to do for fun
Debating Saturday, tbh looks like there would only be an inch or two between your board and the dirt from looking at the cams. Anyone make the trip up today/local that went today? How icy
Hello! I am newer to California and have only been to Big Bear 2 times mid-season last year, and I mostly went to Mammoth. I plan to go during break, probably not on the weekend if its super busy (I do have Ikon) , but weekdays. Can any locals or any experienced people give a gauge during the week/weekend? Just want to know if its worth it or what I should do. Thanks!
I will soon be visiting Big Bear and am new to its activities. I’m seeking advice on snowboarding and gear rentals, as well as clarification on day passes and lift passes—are they the same, or how do they work? I’ve already booked accommodations for a group of 10 and would also appreciate recommendations for nightlife, particularly for places to dance and enjoy drinks. Any tips or insights to enhance our experience would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I tried posting in the weekly thread but didn't get any responses there.
I plan on bringing my friends to Big Bear this winter. Just have a couple questions if someone can help:
Thanks and happy holidays!
I tried googling, checking the snow summit website, etc but just wondering if there are any opportunities for me to bring my small toddler to see snow without having to go sledding (I think she’s too small for sledding at this point, even with an adult). Just seeing it, touching it, walking around in it would be cool.
We’ll be in town next week and while I’ve visited several times, this is my first time with the toddler. Any other recommendations on things to do with a toddler is also greatly appreciated!
Hi im new here, im going to big bear on January with mi girlfriend and I want to propose her in the middle of the snow, but it’s my first time on big bear, any ideas or suggestions? By any chance does anyone know any raves / live Djs happening in the snow at wrightwood, CA or in Big Bear . Or somewhere along those two places ? I’ve seen mammoth does it but it’s a 7 hour drive and wanted to see if there’s somewhere closer that has that type of vibe . Thank youuu
Hi there! Trying to get rid of old furniture. Does anyone have any recommendations on pick up for old couches and 3 mattresses?
