Good evening y'all. I recently purchased for my girlfriend a Monbento box that I wanted to give to her on her birthday, we are long-distance and I guess this is my way of telling her to eat more. (some days all she eats is fruit). I bought one from Amazon and one from their website.
It seems to me that the one from their website may be of better quality compared to the one in Amazon, or this is what people have mentioned in their reviews. I just wanted to ask if this was true or not. Thank you very much!
Black garlic green bean salad, cherry tomatoes, shiitake onion stir fry, sesame seared beef, dry seared zucchini, brown rice with furikake.
Homemade beef empanadas with chimchuri sauce, a spicy mango salad, and peanut butter and Greek yogurt dip to go with some apple slices
I saw someone else make some ham and cheese pancakes and I couldn’t stop thinking about them… anyways the pancake mix I made is from scratch! I don’t normally do baking so its still a work in progress, the excess pancake I tried is still a little dry but I’ll keep working on it :D
Alright, yesterday was Setsubun so I made oni bento. I caught the flu but since I already had all the ingredients, I didn't want them to go to waste. I used a few recipes from my bento books, like for the curried potatoes bacon rolls and cabbage salad. I also made chicken marinated in shio koji, tofu& sunflower sprouts salad and two onigiri. Oni's hair is made of tororo kombi.
Today I have spicy miso noodles, karaage chicken, and potato and carrot salad. :)
Today I packed a sliced apple, caramel dip, cherrios, smoked turkey, and coco teddy grahams with a applejuice box. Yummy~.
Hi, so I recently started cooking full blown japanese style bentos and breakfast for myself each morning and this more wholesome diet has been doing wonders for my health and energy levels! I am however having issues with condensation on the benbto box? I always make sure that everything has cooled down before putting it in the box and I do understand fully that bento are supposed to be eaten at "room temperature" which in my experience is basically just cold. But for some reason every single time, I no mater what I do there's water (moizture) on the lid of the box by the time I reach my lunch hour at work. And it makes the meat all gross and soggy specially if it has any sauce since the water will dilute it. The veggies also sometimes will look wilted? bright green crunchy brocoli will turn a sickly green. I also need any tips you might have about keeping fried foods at least A LITTLE crunchy if possible?
Sauteed mushrooms, smashed cucumber (with soy sauce/vinegar dressing) and kimchi!
Got these cute metal containers in Tokyo so I can reheat in the oven @ work!
105g rice, 4 oz pork, 1.25 oz roasted carrots!
Yakisoba, mixed melon, and stir fried zucchini and wakame with shoyu.
Today I have some kimchi fried rice onigiri, bok choy, oven roasted chicken, and omelette with some cheese. :)
A little different today. I have potato salad with a sourdough sandwich (filled with cheese, hung curd, and fig and apricot jam).
Quinoa, fish fragrant eggplant, blanched Chinese broccoli, baked tofu, and an egg.
I managed to have time to make myself lunch so I just prepped a quick study snack since I’m going to be out for a while today :]
Bento contains strawberries coated in honey, green grapes, and coconut flavored sunflower seeds!
