Anything and everything about beetles.

So Im thinking of getting myself some pachnoda fissipuncta aemula. How do I set up their tank, what kind of substrate should I use etc? Also how many shoul I keep? I was thinking maybe 6-8
I have never owned a beetle but they are my favourite non human entities (do insects count as animals?). I have been looking online for beetles but almost every result is over run by cars.
To get to the point, is there a type of beetle that I can legally own in the uk and has a long lifespan? 🪲🪲
I've been researching and looking about beetles lately and I've wanted to buy a beetle larvae to take care of. Specifically the rainbow stag beetle just because they look so cool and I've heard they are easy to care for. I've been looking for some online stores but couldn't find any stores that sell larvae and are in stock. Thank you in advance
My remaining figeater beetles
I got an adult mealworm beetle in August. He passed today. I've read accounts of their lifespan varying from months to years. Is a bit over three months a bad lifespan for a mealworm beetle?
Hi All, I accidentally broke a cacoon that a larva had only just finished. How can I protect it through to adulthood? I wrapped a leaf around it and buried it but want to check whether there are other methods
I'm getting sun beetle grubs next week. Planning on getting 10 or 20. It'll be my first time keeping beetles but I've kept a millipede and currently have a giant African land snail.
I'm using my snails old tank which is basically a 45 by 45cm triangle. And is around 45cm tall. I'm wanting any advice you can give. But my main questions are:
Are any hardwood leaves alright? I have some oak leaves but have a random tree in my garden and an Acer tree both of which have dropped a lot of leaves that I'm hoping to use.
What substrate is best but also not too expensive. I'm in England. And currently use coco coir and spider life for my snail. Would either of these be ok to use mixed with leaves and wood? Or do you recommend something better.
I'm planning on adding live plants. I have photos, tradescantia, philodendron, a baby rubber tree and a normal rubber tree. Are these all safe to use?
this is my first stag beetle i had gotten back in august; the container was FILLED at the beginning and slowly was dwindling. i am not sure when he is supposed to pupate, though i was trying to refill his container. i am not sure what kind or substrate they need? i have jungle mix for my frog and the usual reptisoil for everyone else but im not sure that’ll be appropriate! please help
I’ve searched it up and it mainly just says ways to get them out of your house like vinegar or lavender, which I of course wouldn’t feed him but I wasn’t sure if there is any specific vegetables or fruits that are toxic. I have some tomatoes i’m not gonna do anything with so I was wanting to see if he’d like them or not but i’m just worried i’ll end up poisoning him or something on accident
i found this today and thought it was soooo cool, is it like a genuine set or what:0
im buying a beetle tomorrow and having him show up monday, however i leave for a trip in 3 weeks. the trips a week long, will he be okay to leave while gone? what should i leave out?
So I’ve been seeing carpet beetle larvae in my room for years. Mind you I’ve never once seen the actual beetle, so don’t know where they keep spawning from. Never knew what they were till recently. Only popped up once in a while just thought it was some weird bug. Now there is many and I’ve began getting RASHES from them. I don’t know what to do. I’m losing my mind. How do I get rid of them.
I’m pretty new to owning beetles, but I’ve had two blue death feigning beetles for around 6 months. I wanted to get a couple new beetles (different from bdf) and was wondering if this is the place to ask what kind of beetle would be fine in an enclosure with the ones I already have? Thank you :)
my BDFB is so courageous so it's been funny to see these guys be extremely wimpy with any slight movement in their domain😭
I’ve had this guy for about 6 months now and I love watching him swim around his tank. I hope you do, too!
