How can I get rid of mites? I read suggestions such as letting the soil dry out for a couple days to kill the mites, and it didn’t work. I changed the soil, and I tried picking them off. It doesn’t seem like there’s too many but I’m sure it’s uncomfortable. What else can I do?

Can anyone recommend places or sellers to buy rhino and stag beetle specimen OTHERTHAN eBay and Esty? I already got rare RED Phalacrognathus Mulleri but I need few more beetles to make gifts.

More specifically, I'm intersted in Dorcus Alcides, Phalacrognathus Mulleri, Dynastes granti, Lamprima adolphinae, Prosopocoilus giraffa, Dorcus titanus palawanicus, or Chalcosoma chiron. I could buy 4x more Phalacrognathus Mulleri but they are so expensive which I cant afford it. It would be cool tho.

My soil was hot for 2 weeks and then only had small pockets of heat. I waited until the heat was pretty much non-existent before I put another bag of flour in. The color and smell weren't right. My mix is hot again.

I've been mixing it everyday. Does this seem normal for Florida? People have been saying it takes months…

I have about a dozen of them in my isopod tank and they're ALWAYS having sex, sometimes like 4 times a day.

I'm raising my DTP in some Kinshi. It took to it well but I haven't seen it in a while. I'm worried about it suffocating but I really don't want to dig them up and disturb them. Iirc I need to change out their Kinshi every 3 months so I need to get more for next month. Should I just wait untill then?

This little fella "finished" metamorphosis yesterday, and somehow survived the night. Can't properly move, kinda just flails around when not holding onto something.

The pupa was a runt and stayed in that stage much longer than usual. I can't remember if the larva was special in any way, and I don't know enough about beetles to speculate... If it was something I did and anyone knows what it was please educate me!

Thought it was interesting, even if sad. I don't have the heart to euthanize it, hoping it can pass away in peace at least :(

I'm ordering some bombardiers from bugs in cyberspace soon and I know basic care info, but does anyone know if they attack other bugs? I know their predators are toads, but if say a millipede or big isopod approached it, would it spray them? Just curious so I know if I should make them a whole new tank or if they can join my insect only terrarium. Thanks!

Can anyone tell me what kind of bug / beetle this is. They come out only at night and they all kind of look the same but are usually all different sizes. They don't come in the house, they aren't in the garbage. When I leave my shoes outside the patio door at night and go back later in the night they all run out from under my shoes. Thanks if anyone can help identify. I am in New Mexico.
