I’ve been renting in Beckley for awhile now and love it here. I’m looking to buy a house and like one in this area of town. If you look at a crime map, this is supposed to be a bad spot, my realtor said the same. Anyone know what it’s like to live in this area? I’ve driven through plenty of times and it doesn’t seem much different than the rest of town 🤷‍♂️

My mom and I will pass through this part of West Virginia as part of a four-week road trip to see all of the Appalachian National Parks. We plan to visit Beckley to see the exhibition mine before heading to New River. We will be in town for dinner on a Wednesday and are looking for any local recommendations or specialty foods. Looking for people to fly with and places to fly. The only active AMA club I know of is 1.5hrs away in St. Albans, would like to find something closer, or even start an RC/FPV/AMA club up this way.

I’m part of a University of Cambridge research project, and we’re studying how the internet is regulated—who decides what you see online and how much control you should have. Right now, we dont have any participants from West Virginia. We really want to hear from all of the States. It’s really important to get some local voices included in this global study!
