Im new to skincare so i wanted to ask what i could do to improve. I just started a routine in the morning i use cerave mosturizing clenser and toner, then i use either cerave resurfacing retinol serum or neutrogena hydro boost. What bugs me the most are the big pores, post acne marks and that the skin peels often. For my eyes i rotate between first aide eye beauty brigthening with niacinamide and vitamin c serum. Also i am currently going for electrolysis which beats me up, so i put aquaphor and hydrocortisone one to two days after.
I’ve been using Megababe for years now and each deodorant lasts me 3+ months which makes the price point worth it to me… the last one I bought was different than the previous ones.
The cap had a sticker just saying “aluminum free, clear gel, fresh rose” but it never did before. I think the inside blocker cap that you take off before using (not sure what it’s called) was different too. Right when I put it on, the formula was so much wetter than before especially for first time use! I’ve only had this deodorant for a few weeks but I’m already seeing the plastic piece under the surface of the deodorant and before I wouldn’t ever see it.
It is supposed to be a gel deodorant but it was like a hard gel almost a wax (think bar soap)… this new formula is noticeably less opaque and more soft… while causing armpit irritation/discoloration and it’s never happened before which is why I use this brand ugh
Sorry this was so long, has anyone else noticed the change?
I’m tired of Two Faced flaking off of my lashes. Please send help.
I’d like to wear something that’s long lasting, feminine, but won’t overwhelm my colleagues in a small office setting! Also under $200!
I’ve been wearing WhitePoint for the last decade (and have liked it enough to buy it multiple times), but am looking to switch it up.
The description for WhitePoint is: “notes from honey and orange blossom. The hints of vanilla and ginger is absorbing at the heart, while the base is alluring with hints from sandalwood and patchouli.”
So in my searches, I've not found anyone asking anything like this on here - mostly the opposite - but I still hope some of y'all might have insights!
I'm a cis woman in my 30s trying to go through a sort of second glow-up after coming out of a really bad period of depression and mental health challenges over the past few years, really since the start of Covid. My build and features largely fall into what's considered more classically feminine - I'm pretty short, have a high waist-hip ratio and sloped shoulders, a heart-shaped face and ski-jump nose, small hands, and generally look fairly youthful and "neotenous," I guess - and for a long time, I've used that inherent femininity as a crutch when I didn't feel good about myself.
However, when I look at the women who I find truly beautiful in the world, they're celebs like Kristen Stewart, Jenna Lyons, Tilda Swinton, St. Vincent, even classic actresses like Greta Garbo and Katharine Hepburn, who all share a kind of natural raw hardness and have a more masculine, androgynous energy. This is something I'd like to cultivate and bring out more in myself, even though it's in contrast to my natural build and features, especially as I lose the weight I put on during my depressive period and start dressing more to my own taste and not to camouflage my "problem" areas. For a long time I've worn things that are "flattering" and kept my hair long and soft/wavy, always played up my best features with makeup, generally trying to make myself look very gender-conforming and feminine. Even though I don't really feel like my best self with that aesthetic, it just felt like the easiest way to move through the world as someone dealing with very low self-esteem. I'm really over that, though, and would like to project a kind of beauty that is a little more edgy and dramatic and confident, while still looking pretty natural.
The "natural" part is key: I don't really like the look of visible makeup or procedures, and would like to stay away from things like contouring or filler. I've started using a NuFace daily, and I really love the way it's bringing out my bone structure in tandem with the weight I've been losing (15lbs down so far!). Apart from things like that and figuring out the perfect skincare routine to be able to go makeup-free and still glow, what else can I do to play up this side of my appearance and lean into my androgynous baddie era? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for being nice about this!
I followed a YouTube recipe from Destiny Pino that came out perfectly. I applied it with my finger when it had cooled down almost completely, and when I tried to take it off, it melted. I watched an Abetwenne video which was very helpful and reinspired my passion for sugar waxing. I tried it again after reheating it basically to a SOLID, and it did the same thing. Even if I wanted to roll it (spinning it on my finger to make it more like a putty), it still melted within seconds on my skin and was completely useless. What did I do wrong? I always put baby powder on the area, made sure it was clean, and never left the wax on for ages. The videos made it look so easy and I don't understand what I did wrong.
This is very ideal for women with dry skin (a fact of aging for most.)
It's heavily perfumed which might not be ideal for some but if you don't mind the scent it's an ideal cheap moisturizer for both face and neck, or just neck if you use different facial creams.
coming on here to say to NOT USE THOSE FACIAL RAZORS THEY ADVERTISE. DO NOT. i have super fine, thin, dirty blonde hair and I wanted to try the razor over the waxing strips that you warm up with your hands bc it tore off my skin before and NOW MY MOUSTACHE is growing back so thick and dark and i can feel it any time i run my tongue over my lip. literally regret it so bad. just a psa.
Hey so the Tower 28 lip balm in the shade "dulce de leche" is always out of stock at Sephora and I really like the colour— does anyone have other alternatives that is similar to this shade? Thanks!
I’ve never once owned my own hairspray. I’m 19 and still use my moms when I need it (rarely), but the last time I used it I broke out in the worst rash all over my upper body. I had never used that type before and I don’t know what specific ingredient I’m allergic to in it. Neither my mom or me remembers the spray she used to be (it had been a few years since I used it) and I don’t know how to go about figuring out what I can use without risking the rash again. Added pic because last time I asked something similar I was told to just try different ones out and deal with the reaction, but it was all over my face and body lol
Any ideas or is there any hairspray made for sensitive skin that will have less harsh ingredients?
As you can see my face is very assymetrical, I understand that I cant do anything about it outside of procedures (for further details my molar on one side got cavities and I went on for almost two years using only one side in chewing, faces are naturally assymetrical and i think mine got worse?) ANYWAYS what can I do about my eyebags? I have a really hard time covering them up with concealer and stuff because its very sunken and I dont know what kind fo skin condition this is called. Concealer tips often just dont work
Can I use creme 21 body lotion on my face?
Hi friends, I recently put two and two together that I think my self tanner is making me sick. Which is crazy bc I’ve been self tanning for 10 years off and on. I don’t even know if it’s a specific self tanner because I was using the Norvelli rapid and then just tried the Sjolie rapid and same thing happened. I’ve been having nausea, muscle aches, and just generally feel unwell. I have two instances as well where after self tanning I got a UTI. Anyone else have reactions like this?
I can't afford to get my nails done (at any frequency). I've tried regular polish but it chips (and so do my nails) the minute I try doing anything at home. I'm thinking maybe trying color gel polish at home? Looking for an affordable color gel curing device that won't break the bank but is just as effective. Hoping you all might have some recommendations. Thank you in advance.
When I was around 23, I got a really bad bruise under my left eye, swollen for almost a month. Ever since, I have had this thing that I can only call an 'extra line under the tear trough' that has grown more prominent the older I get.
It's making me increasingly self-conscious as it shows up very clearly in video calls, which I do quite a lot of during the day for work, because the video is so zoomed out the contrast between the line and the rest of my skin is very clear.
Is there a name for this, or any cosmetic treatment that can be done to remediate it?
I go to a lovely lady for my eyebrows. I have been seeing her for several years. She has her own studio in the town where I used to work. When I worked there I would go on my lunch hour or after work. She doesn't work evenings or weekends so the only day I can go is my work from home day, Friday. Also, it's a 15 minute drive from my house. She is booked months in advance and really hard to get an appointment but she will often squeeze me in if I can't get the day I need. She is so in demand she doesn't even take new clients.
Problem is she cancels a lot due to health issues. I was supposed to see her several weeks ago but she canceled because she was sick and was unable to squeeze me in the next week on the day I needed, so I said, just skip it, I will wait til the next appointment. That was supposed to be Friday. On Friday she texted me she was sick again, but could see me Monday. I told her I couldn't because I would be at work. I am going on vacation Tuesday and really couldn't wait any longer.
I found a place right in my town, walking distance from my house that had availability on Saturday. I went and they did a fabulous job. They are a little cheaper too. I also like just being able to schedule the day before! I am thinking of just switching. Problem is I already have the next several appointments booked at my regular girl. Should I just cancel them or go as scheduled but not go after that? I really like her and I feel bad. She does have legitimate health problems.
Yesterday I dropped one of those tiny tubs of chrome powder. Cleaned it up, took a shower (because it was ALL OVER ME, literally even INSIDE my sock??😭) and now it's everywhere. Absolutely everywhere. All of my clothes, all over the floor, on the furniture. Did this happen to anyone else? How did you get rid of it, at least partially? Vacuuming and lint rolling the floor only helped to get rid of minimal amounts. I washed my jacket and it's still full of it 😭
I've never grown nails before and trying to do it for the first time. I was planning for a square shape. But this is how it's turning out. I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong or this shape is not for me. Also I feel my nails broadens fron the front. Any tips on how to take care of my nails and which shape to try ?
Hi everyone, I have a small, square-shaped face with hollow cheeks and high cheekbones. Because of this, people often ask me if I’m sick or tell me I look younger than I’d like—sometimes even like a 12-year-old boy, which really affects my confidence. I’m looking for advice on how to achieve a fuller, healthier-looking face. Do you have any tips on: Makeup techniques that can add softness or fullness? Hairstyles that might complement my face shape? Skincare, diet, or lifestyle changes that could help? I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences you’re willing to share.
I had hair down to my bum and asked for it to be cut to the middle of my back. This is what I got. The hairdresser basically said afterwards that my (never been dyed) hair looked awful and it needed to be done. Am I justified in being pissed off, of am I making a big deal out of nothing?
Secondly, how can I make it grow faster. I feel like it makes me look 40 when I'm actually 29.
I have been trying to find a good foundation which is not heavy on skin and has good coverage (not obvious that I have foundation on). I can’t seem to find any that will stay on my face. Setting powder won’t help nor setting spray. I can’t seem to find a right shade either. In store, due to the lighting, the shade I pick, is literally not my shade when I wear it outside during the day. I have wasted my money on 3 different foundations.
I tried Fenty Skin Tint (does not stay on the face), Elf (can’t seem to match my shade), Loreal (oxidises super bad).
Someone please help me out.
Hello!
Although I have made extensive research all over the internet and of course reddit too, I am still as confused as I was before, given that any product recommendation I have ever found had at least 2 negative opinions from other users.
I am aware that there are no magic universal products but I just hope to at least strengthen a general idea for what may or may not work in my case.
It has not been like this since forever, but in the last year my hair has become mad oily at the roots next day after I wash it (especially if I use my hair straightener, but that is not something I plan on giving up on- btw the Dyson Coralle sucks for me).
I have found good feedback for the OUAI products (the detox shampoo especially). What is your opinion on it? I have also found some interesting products of theirs on the Sephora site, like the anti-frizz leave in conditioner that sparks my interest, as I hate the frizzy look right after styling it with the straightener. Are they worth the price?
So any recommendation would be much appreciated, as it follows:
-Shampoos for oily hair
-Conditioners/ hair masks
-Hair oils (that do not leave the hair greasier than it already is)
-Anti-frizz products
Never really used high-end products for my hair, so I am open to any side of the spectrum.
Looking for some recommendations, looking for somewhere that does short almond as I found most press ins are either way too long or normal nail length.
I grew up in a predominantly Caucasian area and the beauty standard at that time was basically “surfer girl”. Blonde hair. thin. Athletic. Blue eyes preferably. Tanned skin. Thin eyebrows.
My parents are mixed. Darker features. I genetically am predisposed to have a stocky, curvy build. Freckles. Unruly hair texture. Big thick eyebrows. I always got bullied and I wasn’t even close to being considered attractive. I also have some disorders that make it difficult for me to do sport so I never could become athletic
I have actually done laser treatment to remove my freckles (they came back), I used to pluck my eyebrows a lot.
Now imagine my shock when I feel curly hair is in, dark hair is in, big eyebrows are considered more attractive and women actually take time to make their eyebrows look big. Women actually get tattoos on their eyebrows and freckle tattoos (or make up).
Also, I think being curvy is not even considered that bad anymore? Before, there was no way you could be considered hot if you didn’t have a flat stomach!
Anyway, my point is, beauty trends really do change fast so try not to worry about it too much.
I very recently bought their vanilla bean scent lip balm and it stinked and then I got the pomegranate scent and it smells like very strong very artificial lemon freshener. Idk what scents I can trust from Burt's Bess anymore now. I believe they have changed their formula recently so it's hard to gauge off of old reviews what scents still smells good today. I really wanna give Burt's Bees a better shot so if anyone has bought Burt's Bees lip balms recently or in the past couple of months, what are some scents that actually smell really good. I like sweet or floral scents but I'm open to any scent that isn't to sickeningly artificial or stinky
I use makeup tutorials as a guide for how I do my makeup and I like this look but no idea what it is called.
