I have seen a roll for making perfect loops in wire, but I don't know what it's called. Can someone tell me? Also, of you've used one, does it work as well as it's supposed to? I just can't seem to get the hang of it, and my friend asked me to make her some earrings that would look better using metal pins than thread.
I’m really happy how these turned out! 😊😊😊
I have this beaded band on my water bottle that I got in Tanzania and I would love to make a bracelet in this pattern! I haven’t been able to find a tutorial for a pattern like this that has such a smooth join, can anybody here point me in the right direction? It looks like one piece of string and there’s only one knot that I can see. I saw this style of beading everywhere but I was too shy to ask and I now I wish I did.
Hello everyone! Im new to beads and i just discovered chatons (sparkly!) and wanted to follow a tutorial for a pair of earrings. Issue is the chaton i have is a SS34 ( about 7mm) while the tutorial is for a ss39 (8mm) and i tried and i cant make it work if i follow it as it is. Im sure its just me not capable but I was wondering if theres a way to know how to bezel a different size chaton? I have got also a few 6mm and so far I havent found tutorial on how to bezel them.
thanks in advance!
Hi!
When I started beading and looked for resources, I found software suggestions on Reddit. Now, I want to share my own:
I designed a website with a beading app. You can find it here: https://www.boncuk.app/
There are many programs for designing beading patterns, but I wanted to create one specifically for following patterns. You can find free patterns, edit and use them (the website is very new, so patterns are limited, but I plan to add more over time). You can also design your own patterns online and follow them with visual guides and word chart.
I tried to make the app simple and user-friendly, especially for beginners. The solutions come from my own experience—I started bead weaving almost three years ago. I'm curious to see how people use it and if they find it helpful.
If you work with square stitch, loom, or peyote patterns (flat, triangle, and circular), I’d love for you to try the app and share your feedback on how I can improve it!
I’m new to beading and wires and thought this cute shoe charms tutorial I saw would be a cute start as I’m going to a concert and want to customize my high tops. But I’m looking for my supplies and was wondering if the 0.7mm wire would fit through a 4mm hole. If anyone could help me would be great. Thanks in advance.
I’d like to add some more depth/dimension but beads I wanna use are still in the mail 😇 I also wish I’d used more white or none at all…
I always try to hit the brick and mortar LBS. I know about the ones in Sarasota, but we rented a place in Venice with our daughter. Any good bead shops? I use Japanese seed beads in 15s and 11s, as well as Delicas. I love Czech beads for bead embroidery. I hate to leave behind any interesting clasps.
I don't want to have to buy a reamer, as my usual beading never needs it. But this damn necklace I'm trying to make needs it, lol. 0.5mm cord, 0.4mm holes in the beads, Swarovski style "crystal" beads. I have enough beads to be OK with cracking a few. Is it possible without a reamer, or do I need to just bite the bullet and buy one?
This bracelet is precious to my daughter. It was a gift from my mother before she died. Not exactly an heirloom, but it holds great sentimental value to her as a tangible reminder of her grandmother. She was heartbroken when one of the cats got ahold of the bracelet.
I'm looking for somebody familiar with this sort of knotting technique who can restring the bracelet. I'll pay a reasonable fee and cover shipping. I'm terrified of sending it off to a stranger and losing it forever.
Hello community!
I have a question directed towards necklace making specifically… I am unsure of what thread/wire to use to make a basic necklace. I have beading thread for my other projects, but just want to make your run of the mill necklace.
When I make them with the thread it tends to fall through the jump ring I connect it to.
What is your favorite way to make/finish a necklace so it doesn’t end up breaking/stays sturdy? Any tips are appreciated, I am a beginner in the jewelry/bead world :)
A beaded stethoscope in 13/0 Czechoslovakian cuts that I made for a friend who is a military veteran. The patterns are from the ribbons of his decorations.
