A forum dedicated to the Polish Black Metal band Batushka.
This subreddit stands with Krzysztof Drabikowski: The true creator of Batushka.
Pronounced "Batjushka", the band's Cyrillic name Батюшка means "father" and is used to address an Eastern Orthodox priest. Despite their themes and imagery, they are not a Christian band.

It is possible that church is not in Poland but rather in other Slavic Countries since i couldn't find it on google. Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPO6w5XgLxs&list=RDhPO6w5XgLxs&start_radio=1
Does anyone know a legit local seller for batushka merch? Mainly looking for a panihida tshirt.
Seems like an odd rule.
Hi, it's about a couple of months that I'm searching everywhere for a Panihida original physical copy at a fair price, but i didn't found It. I was thinking to make a bootleg similar to the release, but I can't find all the artworks of the digipak in a good quality. I'm asking for anyone of you that can help me to find an original copy (of the cd or the vinyl) for a good price or anyone who owns it and can make some decent quality photos for a personal bootleg. Thank you
Hi! so, I have not attended a metal concert for years now and I'm anxious and curious, what type of concerts do they have? I know this might spoil the experience, but I generally prefer to know at least something about that specific thing and know what to expect in advance :D
Is it a poser thing or not? What do you think about People wearing corpse paint on any black metal concert?
I drew this yesterday and wrote some lyrics from Песнь 5. I might post it on my Instagram art account later and tag Derph :)
It was pretty bad...
Even with as much bias removed as possible towards Derph and with low expectations it was still shit!
Tha's basically it, we met on a cafe. She said she wanted to break up, we talked a liitle bit, I left her at her English Class, last hugged her and left listening to Yekteniya III lol
Sorry if I write badly in English...
Hi sorry if this is a dumb question I am new here but what is this faketushka drama?
Hello everyone,
Is there a reason why it is hard to find Panihida on physical media? I'd really like to support the real Batushka, but it seems that the music is pretty rare to find. Even living in Poland it appears that either you get really lucky with finding it somewhere (borderline impossible) or you pay a ridiculous price for it from someone selling it second-hand. I saw a listing for 800 PLN for a Panihida CD ($200).
If it has something to do with court proceedings or anything like that, I'd really appreciate and update/explanation of whatever the current status is of Krzysztof's Batushka, it's kind of convoluted and hard to follow.
Hospodi
Average album, like 6/10. Definitely not Batushka though, basically a Black Metal with a choir. I understand all the hate since it's the album that fucked up everything but it's listenable. Except for the art directing, the stage clothes are terrible as well as the album cover and CD booklet.
Raskol
They were trying their best to sound like Derph lol, is definitely better than hospodi. An 8/10 I'd say. Irmos I has this clean guitar melody that tries to mimic the litourgiya tour intro. Irmos II has pretty good vocals in my opinion. The rest of the EP sounds good but it's very forgettable. Bad art direction just like hospodi, and the album cover doesn't make sense, the same time they try to be like Derph's band they clearly don't understand the whole concept behind Litourgiya and Panihida.
Maria
The simply gave up on trying to sound like Derphs lmao. They just repeated the Irmos from Raskol + the Pismos (terrible name choice btw). The whole Orthodox imagery vanished, and they became a generic Black Metal band trying to sound and look edgy, funny thing. The art of Maria manages to be even worse than the other albums together lol at least they tried.
Final thoughts
It's crystal clear the neither Bart or his band understand the complexity behind the band music and the meaning of the all the imagery. They are mocking a mocking band lol. Still fun to listen sometimes because its the closest thing to Batushka that isn't Batushka
Was able to get some official merch and meet the man himself! Krzysztof is incredibly humble and spoke to every fan who stayed after the set.
Batushka is having live in Georgia in May. I wanna know if they play litourgya album on lives. Thanks.
Graspop Metal Meeting just announced Batushka. They link a youtube video from the faketushka channel, but I'm hoping that's just a mistake and they actually booked the real deal? Since other big metal festivals around the same time are actually all booking true Batushka.
I have a hard time finding out how to confirm this question. Who can help me?
Edit: announcement was shared on Faketushka facebook, so unfortunately no real Batushka. Extremely disappointed in the Graspop organisation, given that the true Batushka is playing at Hellfest just one day later. But so be it.
