I've just moved to Bath from Canada with my partner last week. I'm 33 and this is the first time I've moved somewhere where I don't know anyone.
Does anyone have suggestions for ways to meet friends in Bath? I'm currently spending my time trying to find great, dry cider, taking photos and going on hikes.
I'm in need of some big bags of spices- coriander, cloves, cardamom and the like. I don't want to use Scoop, the health food shop in town or the refill shop on London road as I think they're going to be prohibitively expensive (happy to be told otherwise) Any idea where I can look? Preferably somewhere open today? (Sunday) Ta!
Can anyone recommend any restaurants in the city centre that cater for allergies (gluten and dairy)?
Thanks so much!
Does anyone know what time the fireworks are starting at the Rec this evening?
I know the website says 6pm, but is that when the first is planned to go off?
I'll have two small children with me so knowing when it starts will help plan their "waiting around" attitudes!
Thank you :)
I am new to Bath and was wondering what’s on in Bath. Myself and my gf don’t need a massive celebration/ party - perhaps a romantic dinner and then a nice bar to sit in and watch the countdown. Live music perhaps?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Want to get ahead and book.
We live in Bath and use the car only once in a while, to visit family or for day or weekend trips. We’re considering whether we need a new car or whether we could do without: are there easy car rental schemes in Bath? In Cambridge and London we used Zipcar, but that doesn't seem to be an option here.
Hi All,
I am a southeast asian guy new in town (27M) and as much as I love the City of Bath, I kinda struggled with the limited options publicly available for people in their 20s/30s to do anything in Bath unless you already have an existing group of friends. Hence I decided to ‘host’ small gatherings and meet new people. Here’s a plan for a Christmas Meal in the coming days:
For an intro about myself, I am a working professional and my workplace is in Bath city centre. I have previously lived in London (4 years) and Liverpool (2 years), and recently moved in to Trowbridge (commuter town to Bath) for my new job in Bath. My hobbies include trying out new food places, board games, animals (cat cafes and dog parks), movies, local travel/daytrips and arcade.
If you would like to participate in this, please register your interest through the Meetup website link above or app / hosting on behalf of “Bath 20s And 30s Social” Meetup group. Thank you and Merry Christmas! 🎄
Hello!
My husband and I have moved to Bath not long ago. He felt a pain in his tooth and went to the nearest dentist today, they told him that he has to get a root canal and pay £900 for that. Is there a possibility to make an appointment at the dental department at the hospital in Bath and pay NHS prices? We are a bit lost as that's quite a lot of money.
I’ve seen a number of posts over at r/Bristol who say there are regular incidents with ‘lives not knives’ chuggers in the city.
Yesterday on Stall Street a chugger from a different charity called after me and said “excuse me, you dropped something”, and when I turned around to see he started his sales pitch and then side-hugged me without my consent. I didn’t make a donation. Was he overly-friendly or are these guys scammers?
Hello everyone,
I have reviewed previous discussions on a similar topic, however, they are somewhat outdated. I would like to gain an understanding of the current situation regarding properties in Peasedown. Considering the size and price of properties in Bath, I believe Peasedown offers excellent value for money. It is only a 20-minute drive or bus ride to Bath town. I would appreciate any insights into potential drawbacks or challenges associated with living in Peasedown. Also would like to understand the school situation around the area.
Is there a pirate studios equivalent in bath with a pair of cdjs?
Are any good shops in Bath to buy heritage English apples to eat? e.g. russets, pippins, pearmains etc
I'm going to the Rec for Bath v Bears a week Saturday. Kick off is at 1pm so I'd like to have brunch in town before. However my wife is vegetarian and so I want somewhere that has good options for her. Any recommendations?
Quality verses cost
Me and my girlfriend are visiting bath for a weekend break, would be awesome to check out some fireworks while we’re there. But we don’t know the city, any advice?
So I've got a 7YO who REALLY wants to trick or treat, and we're all set to get dressed up, but on my road basically nobody puts the pumpkins out that signal they're open to trick or treaters. I don't mind travelling a bit to make sure he has a good night, but I also don't want to sound like I'm trying to jump into another community's trick or treating.
I'm not going to post my address on the internet, but we're pretty close to town, so open to suggestions!
Off to the pearl of India for a works dinner and after any recommendations on what to have.
Thanks
HELLO! I would like to know what times sainsbury, tesco and morrisons start put out the yellow sticker food items! I didn't know about these things because they don't do it from where I am from but please if anyone knows tell me it will help me since I'm a uni student tryna not spend much money. Thank you!
Sorry, down here for the day and not sure where would be a good bet?
I've recently moved here as a student, does anyone have any experience with nhs mental health care/talking therapies here? I know it varies from county to county. Thank you!

We are travelling to Bath for our anniversary and we are looking for a suitable place for nice drinks/dancing on a Saturday night.
Can anyone recommend a place for a 30-something couple that haven't been out in a long time and are chasing the old school night out thrill please? 😂🙏🏻
We’re looking for some new faces to join our regular Monday night football games.
Your ability isn't the most important thing, we're a (mostly) chill bunch who want to keep the mildly competitive edge going. We split the group up into 2 teams each week and just have fun
First game is always free and if you're up for playing regularly then we can add you to an email list. Easy as that
It's a maximum of 6v6 and is on am outdoor 3g artificial pitch
When: Every Monday, 8 PM
Where: Beechen Cliff School
If you're interested or have any questions, drop a comment or send me a message
Cheers
Hello everybody,
I usually get tickets in the rec to see the fireworks but this year the finances are too tight. I was thinking of going to sit on bathwick hill . Can somebody vouch for that hill? Is there a better hill?
Hi all
I know Trinity has one, and I think Assembly inn.
Does anyone else know of pubs/bars which have dart boards in the city centre vicinity.
Many thanks
