I only ever go during the middle of the week, but I have never been on a weekend. I enjoy how quiet the weekdays are, and I am wondering are weekends much busier in comparison? I also only started going during this summer so I assume the change in season makes a difference. I like to go by myself and just relax, tan, read and take a dip in the water so I don’t want to be socializing much if I can avoid it.

Bates Beach is located in Carpenteria right off the 101 freeway.
There is limited parking (free) as well as bathrooms and showers by the parking lot.
*The clothing optional area is a long walk down the beach, so please prepare accordingly.

Hey everyone! I was thinking of heading to Bates again today. If anyone is planning on going, let me know! Would love to meet some new people!

Got their around 10:00AM and not a cloud in the sky. I was the 3rd one there but not nude because there were clothed people walking the beach.

One older gentleman walked the stretch of the beach nude and passed by the clothed person so I felt safe enough to go fully nude.

By noon a lot more people showed up and it was pretty busy.

Water was good, temp was in the low 80's.

I left around 2:00PM because I'm not a fan of traffic and the minimum drive to SFV was 1:20 so I didn't want to be stuck in traffic.

All in all it was a good day some couples, lots of single guys.

Definitely going back and a lot closer than San Onofre.

They did put a sign up that advised people at the entrance of the nude area that it was clothing optional and on the other side reminding you that clothing was necessary past the sign.

Finally found it and enjoyed it... going to make it our spot to go from now on.
