Missing Stop Sign

Hey y'all,

There was an accident on SR-316 and Jackson Trail Rd back in November and the stop sign at the intersection was missing when the accident occurred.

I was hoping I could find someone who has a date or at least a general idea of how long the stop sign had been out prior to the accident. I've been looking through news articles and Facebook posts/threads but I haven't been able to find anything yet.

Any help or directions would be greatly appreciated.

Barrow family history and ancestry

Hello everyone!

I’m a genealogist & I am trained in discovering local Georgia family lineages and stories through vital records, census records, and newspapers.

This is the interest form I put together for anyone interested in learning more about their personal Georgia family history. I create family trees, ancestral maps, and historical road trip itineraries based on YOUR personal family history! It’s a great way to connect with your heritage and wonderful knowledge pass down to future generations.

LINK TO INTEREST FORM: Family History Interest Form

Here are some things you can discover from my research:

  • Newspaper articles about your ancestors (Crime? Scandal? Who knows!)
  • Custom ancestral mapping showing your approximate ethnic admixture
  • Most common causes of death in your family history
  • United States migration mapping showing how your ancestors migrated throughout the country
  • Your great-great-great grandparents’ names
  • Most popular professions and careers in your family history
  • Photographs of your ancestors you have never seen before (Found in Newspaper archives, I have subscriptions to several newspaper websites)

I have a degree in Anthropology and have spent several years working for a professional genealogy company. I have been working as an individual genealogist for about 6 years. If you have any questions about my research, please fill out an interest form or email: heritagehuntersgenealogy@gmail.com

For those of you with ancestry outside of Georgia, please send me a message. I’d be happy to help you or direct you to a better suited genealogist. Thanks!

Traffic court in Barrow County

Hey y’all, I’m a college student and was heading down to my family for thanksgiving. The roads were empty and I guess I had gone 25 above the speed limit. An officer had given me a speeding ticket.

I have a clean driving record and always try to follow the law. How strict is barrow county? Do I need a lawyer? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Nodoroc & the Winder Wog

Just heard about Nodoroc and the Winder Wog for the first time today at work. Been a resident for about a year. Is the Nodoroc site visible from the road? I was told it’s on private property off Atlanta Hwy near the airport.

Sneaky Covid19 rezones

You are paying more money on your city bill so the developers can bring in more people. High-density Apartments are coming and unless we call cityhall and the Mayor it will be a landslide of people coming. You owe it to yourself to check out this local petition link. I live in West Winder also: https://www.change.org/nohighdensitybarrow (edited)

Sneaky Covid19 rezones

The city of Winders new city council voted during a pandemic (covid19) back in April to change our zoning laws and maps without citizens input. Now we are facing R3 high-density Apartments city wide. This is against the 2018 Winder future land use plan and Barrow county's current future land use plan!. No one knows about this!.
