A subreddit for all things Barakamon!
Seishuu Handa is an up-and-coming calligrapher: young, handsome, talented, and unfortunately, a narcissist to boot. When a veteran labels his award-winning piece as "unoriginal," Seishuu quickly loses his cool with severe repercussions.
As punishment, and also in order to aid him in self-reflection, Seishuu's father exiles him to the Goto Islands, far from the comfortable Tokyo lifestyle the temperamental artist is used to. Now thrown into a rural setting, Seishuu must attempt to find new inspiration and develop his own unique art style—that is, if boisterous children (headed by the frisky Naru Kotoishi), fujoshi middle schoolers, and energetic old men stop barging into his house! The newest addition to the intimate and quirky Goto community only wants to get some work done, but the islands are far from the peaceful countryside he signed up for. Thanks to his wacky neighbors who are entirely incapable of minding their own business, the arrogant calligrapher learns so much more than he ever hoped to.

Gonna watch it today. Is it FR? Well I'm not gonna ask if it's worth watching.... Anything from barakamon is good. 💙💙💙
I know it’s in the FAQ that there is no news whether this volume will have an english publication; that said, no reason we can’t think and talk about it. Some thing to note: The longest stretch for a volume to get a translated release was over 5 years with Volume 1. The shortest stretch was about 8 months.
Hey fellow Barakamon fans! 👋
I recently revisited Handa-kun and made a video diving into how it contrasts with Barakamon and other high school anime. It’s fascinating to see how the same character, Seishuu Handa, is portrayed so differently in this prequel.
In the video, I explore the comedic yet introspective take on Handa’s high school life and how it sets the stage for the more mature themes in Barakamon. Whether you loved or were unsure about Handa-kun, I think you'll find some interesting insights in this video.
If you're curious to see how Handa-kun holds up and how it fits into the broader narrative of Barakamon, check it out! I’d love to hear your thoughts and have a discussion about it. 🙂

Looking forward to hearing what you all think!
So is there anyone who knows about the parents of naru Specially who is her mother actually? The manga is completed right? So any idea who her mother is We know about her father But who is her mother?
My sister and I just watched Barakamon for the first time and absolutely fell in love. The only problem is that the calligraphy was not translated in the version we watched, and I can’t find translations anywhere online. Would anyone who speaks Japanese be willing to provide some translations?
A new volume got released around the time the drama aired. Though it is not clear if it has been released in English yet. For those who have read it, what exactly is it about?
I love and appreciate this anime so much i have been rewatching since 2015 so i decided to recreate handa’s calligraphy of “star”
Here's a new link to the server! Someone messaged me since the old link no longer works. Let me know if you have any questions!
Finished it. And on one hand it feels more complete than the anime. However, it also kind of rushed and cut out parts that were in the anime that kind of made certain events like Handa leaving temporary not hit like in the anime. Not to mention it did feel a bit rushed as a whole. What is your opinion on it?
I discovered this drama through the ML of the show because he is my favorite actor as of now, and I haven't watched the anime version of it nor read the manga. But the live action made me very happy, watching it was very comforting for me. I can say that this became one of my favorite dramas and will rewatch it soon, but I always wonder what the manga readers and anime watchers will say about this live action. What are your opinions?
I watched the first episode. Been a long time since seeing the anime adaptation, though I've read the drama will adapt to the end unlike the anime. How is it so far in your opinion?
I've read in the official barakamon page that they were going to adap the whole work but I wasn't sure if they meant the whole manga or just the anime but now it's obvious they are going for the whole manga. I'm just so happy to see all of it into the live action, though I'm a little scared about the slight changes they have been making to the plot. Thoughts? Expectations?
I'm really looking forward to see Naru's dad arc 🤞
from where I can watch the live action version, any link or source?
Hey guys, I'm searching Barakamon online, but Idk where I can watch it again, like for the 42th time, but I'll appreciate if someone tells me where is it now, because is not in Crunchyroll anymore :(
