so guys why it's so difficult to get the classes and prove the permanent residency. it was take around the month to send all the documents. Which they can’t accept. I collected documents all over the city to prove that I lived And still live in California Why is it not enough for them to just have ID and Green Card. all the processes in this college take so much time and effort? I even thought that they were scammers, maybe there is such a chance that They were scammers??? Although I spoke on Zoom with the program director and with the technicians.
They told me not to come to college personally (I am living in La) in the last week because the director who checks documents won't be there anyway. It's very suspicious. 🤨
and classes already start next week, so I probably won't make it and all my efforts are in vain
Tell me, has anyone encountered such a process???
I’ve always been interested in becoming an ultrasound tech . I attended bc the year 2013 and dropped out due to personal reasons. I want to go back to school and continue my career. I was majoring in criminal justice. I did not get far but I want to change my major to get into RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY. I need help in what should be my first steps. I believe I may be on probation as well since I just dropped out of the blue when I was attending . I need some guidance anything help! TIA
When you buy a digital book from the online library, does it give you an actual file or pdf. Or does it force you to stay in a browser and read off some file reader thing?
Anyone know of a way to get cheap books even if they are used?? I’m taking child development and need 2 more books for my classes.
Okay so I made my schedule back in January not realizing how big the main campus is and I only have a 10 minute gap between intro to business and anthropology so do you guys know where it is located on the map?? Will I have enough time to get from point A to point B someone pls help!
So, I recently took a stats class here at Bakersfield college and my final grade was a C. Then just 2 days ago I checked my transcript and it said my final grade was a D and I was dismissed for the fall 2024 semester. So I was told by my counselor to speak with my professor to see if there was a mistake, which there was because he told me that he had submitted a final grade of C for me. So now what?? There’s 3 days till the semester starts and I’m pretty sure by now someone has already taken my place in my classes I was dropped from.
Basically the title, Enrolled for a class, payed the fees , was enrolled for few days and today suddenly i cannot access the course! Can someone please help me! Thanks
Has anybody taken the Chemistry 2A Challenge Exam, and if so how challenging was it based on practical and written exams?
Hi everyone, I am planning to enroll in an online, asynchronous class and I was wondering if anyone knows if there are specific test dates for those classes or if I could finish the entire class early?
I recently graduated from another college, but still need to take some additional prerequisites for my Masters. Seeing that all of the classes that I was looking to take for Fall 2024 has already been filled, should I just wait and apply/take classes for Spring 2025? Thanks!
I have to see if this course will meet another university's introduction to psychology requirement and an advisor told me I would need the syllabus.
I will take the class if it does, but it would be a complete waste of time if it doesn't have the same topics and information their course teaches.
Can anyone give me the syllabus for it?
Is it me? Or why does Bakersfield College make it so difficult to just get some assistance for your classes and your education plan? The other day, I went to the lobby to ask for a counselor to help me get a list of all the requirements that I need to transfer over, and they said that I needed to send over my transcript so they could look at what I already had completed. Ok, I send it over via the BC portal and it hasn't been yet processed as the days passed. I went to the lobby again a week later and asked somebody else the same question.. and it turns out that there is a special building not so far from the lobby that is basically.. a counselor center, where you got all the advisors and everything. Long story short, I was assigned an advisor, and they couldn't even help me create a general Ed's plan because.. that is not part of their function. It is the counselor's responsibility to help a student with those things. So why even have an advisor in the first place if they're not going to serve any purpose? Why not just disband the branch and rearrange it in a way that is not so unnecessarily difficult for the students. It's like literally venturing through a maze just to get some help. It took me two whole weeks just to finally talk to a counselor and figure out my ED plan and I'm not even exaggerating.
Anyone know when they’re getting posted for Spring 2024?
I'm registered for online classes this summer. The BC webpage says it started on the 13th. I don't have any updates on canvas. Is there a different start date for in person vs online? Thanks.
I’m a senior apart of Bakersfield College’s dual enrollment at my high school, I currently have a 64% in my Spanish class which is needed to get my Spanish Associates. I was wondering if anybody knows if it would still be possible to participate in the commencement ceremony despite this grade?
Hi everyone! I’m hoping to find any current students of BC who would be willing to help me revive an old Disabilities Inspire Change and Support club on the Panorama Campus! The mission is that Members of the Disabilities Inspire and Support Change club will provide education, support, and inspiration for those with disabilities and those who are interested in learning about the disabled community.
I’m hoping to have the necessary people to have this club up and running for the upcoming semester. Even though this will be my last year and I may not be able to do this later on. I want to light the fire. If you guys are interested, I would love to see you in my dms and let’s chat!
I open a thread about the best places where you can study in Bakersfield, whether libraries or cafes
Can’t find it on the website. Thanks
