The Backyard Wildlife Conservation Association is a group which is dedicated to preserving the diverse and delicate ecosystems which can be found in backyards and parks all across the USA, something which larger conservation groups sometimes leave behind.
On this subreddit, you will find a variety of resources to help guide you on your adventures, including educational videos about local animals and suggestions for how you can get involved in conservation efforts.
This is a place for you to submit videos, pictures, and written accounts of your backyard adventures, and network with other explorers.
Our goal is simple: to promote local conservation efforts by educating the public about native ecosystems and inspiring people to get outside and experience these places themselves. I believe that this approach will get people truly excited about preserving wild places near them, and sharing this organization's message with the world!

I have a family of squirrels in my neighborhood, and they're very friendly. Two of them have been known to knock on the backdoor to "ask" for treats. On three occasions now, one has been dragging away muddy shoes my husband has left by the door. Thankfully, he doesn't take them far. Has anyone else had this issue?
Our dog was in the backyard and barking at something today morning. I went to check on him and found that there is a small hole on the ground and few little bunnies.(They didnt even opened their eyes) Actually I'm not 100% sure they are bunnies but I have seen bunnies coming to our backyard, so most probably this belongs to them.
See the photos.
Our dog is a sweetheart. He didn't hurt any of them. But these bunnies are literally on the ground. The hole is not deep enough i think. If it rains I'm sure they are going to get wet. (It suppose to rain today)
Do you think they will survive? I don't want to get them inside the house in case if it rains because their mother will not accept them again right
Should I leave them along?
Anybody know ?
A nice story to start the year. This is my biggest ally in the campaign. Yep, we buddies, when I have food 😲
Hey I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell if this is an ermine/stout or mink? It's definitely in the weasel family (like ferrets and minks)
Anybody know what this bird is ??
Thanks
Seagull knows its out of luck, but trying to pretend it's not..
