Hey folks! I have a Herschel Retreat backpack, can I wash it in the washing machine? It has been used for a while and needs to be cleaned.
A flashlight to the loop? A mug to the d ring so you can get a fast sip from the well?
Hi all!
I’m looking for a bag that has a laptop compartment and 2 main compartments.
I’ve looked at the Jansport big student and the Jansport Main Campus. Both are fine, but I’m looking for something a bit nicer (for lack of a better term).
Thanks in advance
it’s supposed to be waterproof but i just saw that the book i put in the laptop compartment got small yellow stains on it, and the placement of them perfectly matches where the cat wet… cat pee is hard to get off as far as i know, it doesn’t show but i know it stays there unless cleaned specially. so… help please?
I have done a fair amount of research and even have both bags. I ordered the Vertx from Amazon and picked up the LV18 at the 5.11 store with the intention of returning the Vertx. But in hand, they both have loads of pros and cons. I should add this is for work EDC. I don’t plan to CCW carry with these at least not often enough for that to be a consideration. I carry a laptop, portable monitor, keyboard, mouse, and iPad mini.
Pros: The Vertx looks better and has a water-resistant bottom. It can stand up straight on its own. Multiple grab handle options.
The LV18 has better storage options and is a bit more comfortable on the shoulders.
Cons: The Vertx lacks organizational flexibility even if you spend $ 100 extra on their accessories. I’m not sure how big an improvement it would be. But that would certainly make it pretty expensive. I am annoyed how the secondary pocket is taller than the main pocket. It makes it look weird but also more difficult to access the main compartment.
The LV18 has an ugly OD green interior and is oddly top-heavy due to the location of the most outside utility pocket. And honestly, doesn’t look all that good.
Any recommendations would be helpful especially if you have one of them.
I’m on the hunt for a backpack to use as an EDC and personal item when traveling. I swear I’ve looked at every bag under the sun and just can’t find the exact right thing. Here’s what I’m looking for:
Bags I’ve considered:
What am I missing? Any recommendations?
I am a field technician who has been traveling a lot. I work on lithium battery systems and previously was going internationally. I have been using the osprey apogee and although a great backpack, it’s lacking in a couple areas.
I would prefer a luggage handle slot so I can get this thing off my shoulders when possible. Long days in the field takes a toll, so even 10 less minutes in a hotel or train station with that on my shoulders would be great.
I also hate the water bottle slot on the apogee. It is not easy to drop a bottle in one handed. That could change.
I also want a few more small slots for organization purposes. I typically have a battery bank for my personal items, a flashlight or 2, my passport, other relevant documents, business cards, keys and headphones. I also will have a laptop, iPad Air, and any power tool batteries I have to transport. I pocket dump when I travel for comfort sake so I need a few more than just the 3 little slots the apogee has.
Finally it has got to be durable. I’m not going to conferences and board rooms, I’m going where it should be fairly clean but could be dirty. Hard floors, possible areas where a fluid leak could occur and possibly get on my backpack. Not somewhere you’d want to take a nice leather backpack.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations
Hi
Looking to purchase this backpack. Like everything about it - but going through the https://packhacker.com/travel-gear/nomatic/travel-pack-4/ review, a little concerned about the carry-on compliance? Very low at 30%..
Can someone share their experience or thoughts on the same?
Thanks!
My biggest issue with a lot of backpacks is the laptop compartment essentially functioning as rigidity when inserted into back adjacent laptop areas.
Is there a bag that will be comfortable and have its own back support such that it doesn’t feel like the laptop is a stiff board on your back when wearing the pack?
Hey everyone,
I’m on the lookout for a reliable EDC (Everyday Carry) backpack and could really use some recommendations, especially for something within my budget of around ₹15000. Here’s what I’m hoping to find:
Any brands or models you’ve used and would recommend within this price range? I want to make sure I get something that lasts. I've looked at Mokobara, tried and tested each of their offerings, didn't like a single one.
Shamelessly copied the template from https://www.reddit.com/r/backpacks/comments/1fb3obt/looking_for_an_edc_backpack_in_india_under_2000/
Been trying to find a good backpack and finding someone to help me on this one.
Looking to get a new backpack and definitely want it to be waterproof since I live in the north of England. I've looked at the north face, Helly Hansen and stubble and co so far. Any other suggestions or anyone with experience using those brands?
Looking for a new backpack and trying to decide between Trakke Bannoch Pro vs. TravelPro Altitude Medium Expandable Laptop Backpack. Would appreciate any feedback. Cheers
Hi,
I am looking for a bag for travelling. It should be sturdy enough to last at least 10 years.
I would carry a notebook, a book, a camera, a laptop and some clothes in it.
My travel would include urban areas as well as remote areas.
Thank you in advance for your help. And, It should be available in India and not super heavy on the pocket like 30-50K range.
Hey, I’m looking for something that’s going to work for me as a cyclist. Not too fussed about sweaty back but the bag would need to fit gym gear - towel, shoes, cloths. A laptop compartment. And ideally be good to a grocery shop too! Was thinking marker AER Travel pack 3 small? Not really clued into the world of bags so would love some recommendations! Thanks
I saw a video of a Keanu Reeves motorcycle being hit. Does anyone know the brand of his backpack?
Hi everyone! I'm looking to buy my first Fjallraven Kanken backpack, and I could really use some help deciding on the best option. I've heard great things about the quality and style, but with so many choices, I'm not sure where to start.
A bit about me:
Another very important note is that I would really like the backpack to have a water bottle pocket large enough to accommodate a filtered Brita water bottle, padded straps for comfortability, and hopefully a section for my iPad Air! I noticed that you can purchase add-ons for the Kanken Classic for a bigger water bottle pocket, an organizer, and padded straps, but it can get a bit pricey so I’m not sure if it might be more efficient to get the Outlong backpack since it comes with big water bottle pockets and padded straps already. Although I’m worried that the Outlong might be too big as an everyday backpack.
If you have a Kanken you love, l'd appreciate hearing what makes it great or what you think I should keep in mind. Also, any tips on care or longevity would be awesome! Thanks so much in advance for any advice!
Where can I get a backpack that has a waist strap and chest strap too hold a lot of stuff like water and sweatshirt and other things that could take up a lot of room? But I also don't want it too be too big of a backpack either
Makers mark backpack from about a year ago, I cannot find anything about it online except for a $10 listing in ebay. Just curious about it
Last Christmas, we got an LL Bean pack for an 8yo who had used a Carhartt pack since kindergarten. The Carhartt was still in decent shape after 3 years, but its lack of a water-bottle pouch was a problem. Because of sensory issues/ASD, the now-9yo doesn't want to get his backpack replaced. But his 3yo sister needs a new backpack for preschool that will hopefully last a couple of years, and we are hesitant to go with the Beans again. Anyone have a rec for something up to about $80? Thanks!
I am looking for a durable backpack for everyday use. It would carry laptop(13in), accessories, lunch box, bottle, some snacks, maybe even gym clothes. Also I am 5ft, so not a very big backpack. Please give me some suggestions! 🎒
I'm looking to purchase a unique mens backpack.
A HARDSHELL cooler with an area to store a laptop.
Does this exist in a backpack style?
I’m on the hunt for a backpack that’s minimalist and sleek in design. I don’t have much to carry—just a 16-inch laptop and a couple of cables—so space isn’t a major factor. My top priority is comfort, especially with good padding and weight distribution. I’ve narrowed it down to the Bellroy Via Backpack and the Herschel Kaslo Daypack based on design. Which one would you recommend? I’m also open to other suggestions for something that combines comfort with a clean, modern look. Thanks in advance!
