I am looking for retro/vintage/traditional style backpacks (Can but doesn't need to be literal) but just a 40s Herringbone era style look. Preferable online or Amazon that ships to Canada. How much would I need to spend in CAD?
These are 2 examples that I already have/ordered. Are these any good?

These kinda have a mix of retro and modern looks brought in the middle. Stuff like this, straight up retro, or leather retro or all. What would be a good price range? And is Nylon and Polyester bad?
I’m beginning to plan my traveling around south east Asia, and have my eye on the 55L bag. I’ve seen some suggest the 70L but that seems too big for a max three month trip where I’ll be going from city to city etc. I’ve also heard that the 55L is practically the same as the 40L just with the detachable ‘day bag’? Meaning that if you remove it, you can use the bag as a carry on for the overhead compartment (which is all that I have paid for for my flights) I’m planning on vastly under packing, with just over a 10kg limit, and then buying the rest of my gear out there. Mostly wondering if this is even possible, as I have never done anything like this before, and don’t know much about backpacks!! Thanks🔥🔥
After hours / days of reading reviews, comparisons, watching countless YT videos, and resisting the urge to post here, I've finally given in and am looking for some expert advice. I am looking for an EDC backpack, and unfortunately, I am pretty picky.
The bag I currently use is the Patagonia Chacabuco 30L (I think it's an older model), which i find to be slightly uncomfortable to wear and I feel like I don't get the most out of the organization / design. I also feel like it's not very forgiving with it's space. I'd like to stay within the 25-31ish liter range for size - I can't see myself needing any more or less, and I feel like some packs I see even perform better / fit more than the listed volume. For reference, I am 6'0", 200lbs - the following are things I plan to carry in the bag when traveling / taking this bag anywhere:
I have a list of criteria that I'd like the bag to include (go easy on me) :
I don't know if there is a pack out there that meets all my criteria, but I'd like to think I can get pretty close. The weight of the bag isn't super important to me, especially if it's sacrificing durability.
If you have a couple recommendations I may not be thinking of, great! If not, feel free to discuss the bags I did mention and let me know if one of them would be best. I think the look of the TNF Borealis is one that I'd be most attracted to, but I worry about the laptop compartment and quality of materials on the bag, as I've heard in other posts. Osprey Quasar seems like a good one too, but the materials don't seem rugged enough ( I could be very wrong ).
Thank you.
I'm planning on getting a 24L Osprey backpack to double as a travel backpack as well as a pack to take on hikes and store a few things like my camera, water, etc. I'm really not sure which to choose though between the Archeon, Tempest, Stratos, Manta, etc. Any insight? This also needs to fit as a personal back on a plane.
Found this on a sale in the UK for £20. Looking for a travel/day pack. I've not heard of Kelty before so was unsure of their quality or reputation
Any advice/alternatives?
I am looking to get backpacks for my team as a holiday gift. These will be for office workers who need to carry their laptops back and forth, and I would like to get them something nice that will last a long time.
The company only had three options that I can choose from:
I’ve been using the same bag for many years and know next to nothing, and reviews on these seem sparse. Are any of these choices good? Are there any that I should avoid?
It’s made by osprey
Has anyone ever bought from Osprey before, specifically Osprey Europe?
I ordered a bag on their website a few days ago now, and I have still not received an email confirming that it's been shipped. I have sent them three emails now and not heard back. They don't even have a phone number!
I did find a number, but it was for Osprey London which is apparently a different company to Osprey Europe so they could not help, nor do they sell the bag I am after.
If I had known the customer service was going to be this bad, I would have bought a bag from a different company.
Would be good to know if anyone has had any similar experiences with Osprey.
Thanks!
Hello,
I will be a dad of soon in a month or so, I current have a 4yo and 15 month yo. What backpack do you guys recommend. I would like the backpack to be easy access to one set of change of clothes for my 4 yo and 1-2 clothes changes for the 15 month, snacks, and water bottles.
3rd baby will have its own bag.
I currently use a rucksack type of backpack but it’s getting a bit workout. I want to also use this backpack after not having to carry kids stuff.
Thanks for your suggestions.
Edit: forgot to mention that I want to be able to carry 2-3 diapers and wipes as well. Style does matter color not so much.
I’m looking for a well-featured, work-from backpack.
I like lots of internal organization (not a fan of pouches).
Hard wearing (I’d prefer heavy and strong over lightweight)
Stand upright.
On the larger side of EDC.
Side access.
Good harness for when heavily packed out.
I love my Vanquest Trident 32 which seems smaller than the 32L suggests, but it’s a bit too big and a bit too military.
What great ideas do you have?
Thanks
Thank you!
Wondering if anyone on here recognizes this bagpack. I even tried doing an image google search, but nothing 😤
Hi m, I'm currently looking for a backpack that I can use for normal piste skiing but is also great for Ski touring. I would also like to use the backpack for everyday tasks, such as university. Do you have any suggestions or experiences that you can share with me?
I have a 16 inch laptop, a mouse, a book or two and water bottle. And gym clothes most of the time. I take it to work or coffee shop pretty much everyday. The pack I use isn’t cutting it. I have unlimited budget-I want the best quality I can get. What are your recs?
I got my first WolfPak bag. I really enjoy it so far. WolfPak goes live on Tiktok. They have great flash sales and more coupons to add. I'm definitely going to get a few more in different styles
I'm looking for a around 20-26L (or smaller) backpack that can fit a 13 inch laptop and a couple notebooks. I'll use it for college and will need to set it down all the time, so I'd want it to be able to stand upright! Any suggestions appreciated.
(The smaller size is bc I'm fairly short at 5'4, 30L bags look huge on me)
Hi everyone, long time lurker first time buyer! I am stoked for the sale they are having for the M23 bag. I am torn between the red and black Cordura or the Seaspray and tan Robic Ripstop material. I’m favoring the red and black Cordura because of the color. But I worry the Cordura is gonna be a hair magnet. But I do like the pop of the seaspray color and lighter weight of the Robic Ripstop material.
For those that have either material, are there any major pros or cons for each material type? Biggest concern is weight and overall ease of taking care of the material. I currently own a first gen Alpha One Niner Evade 1.5 Full in 420D diamond Ripstop. But looking to try out something new (and lighter!).
Hi!
I need a backpack for my 17.3 inch laptop (15.64 (W) x 1.06 (H) x 10.32 (D) in).
I bought the Bellroy Classic 24L V2 but the laptop pocket is form like a funnel and the laptop stop at the middle.
I've looked at a lot of backpacks from a lot of brands, but bags for 17.3 inch laptops are very rare or ugly.
I'm looking for a bag in the style of Bellroy/timbuk2 or tech
Between $100-250
I'm looking at the Nomad 42l, but the bag looks huge, what do you think?
i needed a backpack for university as the one i had was massive and way too big (33L), so i bought this samsonite bag as it looked better than most of the grey/black bags they have
for around 60 usd
i received it and i like it, however im now having second thoughts on whether i should keep it or if something better may be available for the price, this is not the most comfortable backpack i have ever used, however it isnt uncomfortable, it has less pockets than i'd like for all my little wires and stuff, but i could just use a travel organizer, it carries my heavy 2.5kg laptop so thats good
i just feel unsure, i dont have a lot of experience or knowledge on backpacks and just want to know if im making a dumb decision that may be obvious to others but not to me
ive gotten this goldbe! bag and i cannot find anything about it. does anyone know anything about this brand?
Hey guys looking for some help with a new backpack, it’s time!
Based in UK and around 2008 I purchased a TNF Recon (same as pictured) and boy has it served me well!
Initially bought as I was taking up hill walking but over its 16years has done everything from summer holidays both as hand luggage and for snorkling/beach kit, weekend hotel breaks, weekend family trips mainly clothes carrying.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good replacement with similar functionality?
Thanks :)
Any suggestions for a commuter/gym backpack with an external shoe compartment that will fit a US size 13 men’s shoe? I’ve seen a lot of bags with shoe compartments that take up internal space, which I’m not looking for.
ETA: no budget!
Hey I just got a Tomtoc T66 Navigator for an upcoming trip. I am kind of new to the backpack scene so this bag was a good budget friendly beginner option. I currently have been using it as a daily driver for work and am decently satisfied. The only thing is I don't like the Tomtoc logos position on the bag. I like a whole blackout edc aesthetic so this is the only drawback for me.
I was looking to debadge the logo with a heat gun if possible. The part of the bag where the logois sitting is made of a plasticy vinyl material so I run the risk of melting it too. Any suggestions? Or should I let the logo stay?
So i need a backpack that is water proof or water resistent anything that keeps water out. It needs to have one laptop pocket for a 15.6 laptop, space for one or two small books and space for some clothing. What is the best option for under 50$.
I’m looking for a backpack similar to this but maybe with a little more character? Doesn’t have to be leather.
Budget: $250 ish
He works in tech and needs an upgrade. I need to measure his laptop, but must have laptop sleeve.
Hey, so first of all I'm new around here.
I have had a Swiss bag that I really liked for almost a decade now. it looked very similar to this one:
But unfortunately I need to replace it now.
I have bought a new laptop, which is 18 inches and it does not fit, not even if I try really really hard.
I was looking for an hour around the web without success, you guys are my last chance of finding the perfect bag for me. I will list everything that I need, the things that I don't list I probably don't care about, like a bottle holder on the sides. but I don't mind them being there.
anyways:
It's for travel and work.
