so this has basically replaced BPM for Mexico and dates have been announced for 2020

So it's officially happening again and my friends and I are booking our Airbnb soon. We will be there from Dec 27-Jan 3rd. I'm sad that I'll be missing Day Zero but it's on Jan 13th, almost two weeks after NYE. What's the difference between Day Zero and Sound Tulum? Will I be missing anything?

Does anyone know of any other festivals between Jan-March in Central America?

I have messaged the Day Zero Facebook page and getting no response.

There is a festival called communite in Tulum at the start of Jan if anyone wants to check that out, the music is a bit too slow for my likings though.

Anyone there right now? If so, how does it compare to Playa Del Carmen. Details please!

I have heard from a very good source that BPM 2018 (and future BPM's) will take place in Puerto Rico going forward. Announcement to come in two weeks at BPM Portugal :)

Does anyone know if all the off BPM parties will still be happening this year in Tulum and the surrounding area?

There have been posts floating around social media that BPM was somewhat involved but won't admit anything and will now bail out of Mexico.

The Conspiracy Theory:

-BPM was extorted and demanded to pay a bribe to the Cartel & Police.

-BPM announces BPM Brazil/Portugal out of nowhere, knowing something could happen and or be forced to move.

-Cartel/Police show up to BPM to collect fee.

-BPM says no(or doesn't pay enough)

-Cartel sends "a message" to Festival by shooting up an open club.

what do you think happens to the BPM festival (and Play del Carmen night life) going forward? Does this kill BPM 2018 & BPM Brazil/Portugal? If not, will people still feel comfortable returning to Playa Del Carmen & Blue Parrot next year? Or is this just a blip on the Mexico cartel radar, and everyone forgets in 6 months?
