Easy overnight hike

Hi all,

Trying to get back into hiking/backpacking after a 20 yr hiatus. Looking for a decent hike in medium to higher elevations with water in AZ. Used to love Little Saddle Mountain trail but im reading it may be closed? Other good trails to enjoy the peace and quiet?

Fossil Creek Falls

Has anyone been to Fossil Creek Falls recently, by chance? My fiance and I did the Bob Bear trail last May and want to check out the other trail soon (note: both of us are experienced desert hikers, would start very early, bring lots of water, etc etc).

I’m mostly wondering about the road in! I know it’s a lot longer than the drive to Bob Bear, but is it rougher? I drive a Jetta and grew up rurally on gravel roads. The road to Bob Bear was manageable for me, same with going to Tanque Verde Falls multiple times. I’m confident in my car and my skills navigating washboards and whatnot, but I also know my limits. If we have to wait till we have an SUV, no biggie. I just really want to go play in some nice water, lol

If anyone has been there recently/has pictures for reference I’d greatly appreciate it 🙏🏻

What Are the Best Beginner-Friendly Hikes in Arizona?

Hello hello!

I'm new to Arizona and I’ve recently developed an interest in hiking, because why not add another hobby to my collection of watching Netflix and eating out? If you see a brunette stumbling around the trails like a confused tourist, that's probably me. I would love some recommendations for beginner-friendly trails in the area where I can enjoy the scenery without feeling like I need a rescue helicopter on standby.

Also, any tips for a hiking newbie? Like, how to avoid becoming a snack for any desert creatures or not getting lost?

Thanks a bunch!
