APH Petition - Free or affordable access to Australian Standards

There is currently an e-petition run by the Australian Parliament House to have free or even reasonably priced access to Australian Standards.

Currently the majority of the exorbitant cost goes to the private company who owns distribution rights. Signing the petition would be lend your voice and help the push to provide fair access to the documents to the general population.

Squeaky floor on second level of my house

Hi everyone, want to ask something about how to fix second level floor being super noisy when walked on.

I have a carpet on second level and most places I walk on will create squeaky noise. Does anyone know how to fix this without pulling all the carpet? I read online there is a product called Squeak No More. But I only seen people using it in US or Europe, not sure if it works for Aussie house.

Thanks for in advance!

This morning I finished my new Twitter Bot. Every time my NBN drops out it lets Malcolm, the NBN Co and Sen Fifield know.

We're a small business. We experience SO many dropouts a day it's crazy. It deeply impacts our ability to work remotely with our clients. After multiple visits the NBN Co still haven't sorted it.

I'd already written a Python script to monitor dropouts but thought last night "Why not let the PM know just how well his NBN project is doing each time". So this morning it launched.

Feel free to check it out if you want: https://twitter.com/OurBrokenNBN/with_replies

Am happy to hear alternative message suggestions to feed the bot so it can randomly pick one each time.

We've won the Ashes, but England's still not going to send them over here.

Or is this a British Problem?

If I open any doors or windows the flies and mozzies come in.

Is a cooling breeze through the house too much to ask?

If QANTAS fails I'll have to fly Virgin Australia.

I liked it better when it was called Virgin Blue, but they still don't give you free meals.

The ABC's radio cricket commentary isn't synced with Channel 9's TV coverage.

I prefer the ABC's commentary to Channel 9's, but I like seeing what's going on, so I have Channel 9 muted on the TV and Grandstand on the radio. The few seconds' delay between events happening on each is disconcerting.
