[US promotion] credit tracking question

I used a credit on the middle of October in the 2 for 1 credit sale, and that credit showed up on my use 3 get one free tracker. But at the end of October, I used another credit on the 2 for 1, and it isn't showing up on my tracker.

I chatted with customer service and they said that the 2 for 1 credits don't count as they are a "special credit" but it worked for me before. When I mentioned that I just got a repeat of the same message that they don't apply. Anyone else run into that issue? I also looked over the terms of the free credit promo and there wasn't anything about "special credit" just the return credits or other promo issued credits don't count.

[US and UK Promotion] The Summoner: Echoes of the Fallen

Cover art by Alaire Racicot

I'm excited to share that I have some US and plenty of UK promo codes left for my audiobook as part of a campaign to spread the word before the release of my second book! If you're interested, just drop a comment, and I'll send a code your way while supplies last. Reviews are immensely helpful for boosting visibility, especially as I'm both a self-published and self-narrated author. Your support means the world, so don’t hesitate to grab a free listen and share your thoughts!

EDIT: I'm out of US codes, but I have plenty of UK codes still. Also, if I get 15 more sales, I'll get access to another round of promo codes, so I'll do another promotion once that happens. Thank you all for your support!

Available on Audible.

The Summoner: Echoes of the Fallen

After surviving the last great war, Moon Elf Ezekiel Graystone wanders the war-torn remains of Terrial in search of his lost brother. Along the way, he crosses paths with Davis - a young boy threatened by the malevolent church that serves the demon god king. As he tries to protect Davis, Ezekiel must confront the harsh reality of a world dominated by evil, where the wicked reign supreme and the innocent suffer. With the help of old companions and new allies, they must fight back against the church to thwart its twisted designs. Yet even as they battle, the looming presence of Tal'Dar and his forces threatens to destroy all.

no NSFW tags for audiobooks - Help by sending feedback

I noticed on the PC browsers, audible started putting tags on their books. Which is great, but there is one they are not using, NSFW. It would really be nice. Maybe everyone can send feedback about adding the NSFW tag. Nothing worse than listening to an audiobook at work and someone walks into the office at the worst possible time during an unexpected scene. A person can lose their job over it. To those who sends feedback - Thanks

--------------------edit

Headphones are not always the answer at work. Headphones are not always allowed for various reasons, including safety. In addition, I was just using it as an example. Do you wear headphones at home when listening to audiobooks? What happens if you are listening to a book on alexa or through your home speakers and a minor child walks in at the wrong time? Finally, I do not care for those type of books. I will not purchase them if I had known what type of content it has.

40 hours left but can't play anymore ...

Edit': So I reached out to support and they gave me a credit to buy the book. Really great experience. Thanks all for the advice!!!

So I got a notice on the book where I have two hours left of listening time that there is 40 hours left until it leaves the Plus catalog. Cool, I can easily finish it.

But the notice won't go away. I keep pressing "Continue listening" and the box stays there. Click, click, click, click ... It just pulls up a new box and doesn't let me to listen to it.

It's not 11/4 year but I'm stuck in a loop unable to listen to the rest of the audiobook.

I feel scammed out of finishing the book.

Lock Screen Widget (Feature request)

I wish Audible had a widget showing the progress made in a book at each point of time which could be added to the Lock Screen of Apple devices.

Audible Plus Catalogue - titles leaving and being added?

Hi all, I'm sorry if this has been asked to death but I can't seem to find the answer. I've noticed that a lot of sequential titles, the second book and on within a series, left the catalogue on 10/28 and more will go on 11/04.

When a mass exodus of titles happens like this, do we get a bunch of new ones? I've heard they might come back, and if so, is there any indication of when? I'll probably cancel my subscription if there's not some kind of balance, though I've appreciated the nearly full series I've gotten to listen to without paying for individual titles the last couple months. Do any of you wonderful people know have an idea of how this works?

Trouble syncing

Has anyone else been having issues with audible and kindle automatically syncing? The two stop syncing about a month ago but found a workaround, toggling the sync slider on and off, at the start of each book but that is no longer working.

Can I listen to something to help with classics?

I liked the classics I have read. Even the ones I was forced to in school. But going over it as a class, there was a lot of sublte stuff I don't know that I would have gotten on my own. The books themselves would still have been enjoyable, they are classics for a reason. But I am wondering if there is something, ideally on audible, that Incan pair with listening to classic literature on audible? Like cliff's notes or something.

Specifically want audio if possible. Want something to digest during runs.

Listening to Infinite Jest and a computer voice keeps interrupting. What’s going on?

3 hours into the book and a robot keeps interrupting saying “part x” with the x being a number. It’s counting up to something and currently on “part 12”. But it’s not correlating with the book at all and interrupts in the middle of a sentence.

Has anyone else experienced this and how can I fix it? It’s the one narrated by Sean Pratt

Can I get a refund even though it says on my account that it's non-refundable? I already cancelled my subscription after the free trial and after two months I was charged.

Repost since I already commented this on one of u/audible_com 's posts.

"I already sent an email using this link that I saw you replied to in one of the posts here (Link: https://adbl.co/3T3qzUd). I was shocked that I was charged for a monthly subscription when I wasn't charged a month before. I already canceled it last September as I wasn't charged of anything in the month of October. Please help me get a refund as I am a student in the Philippines. I was charged PHP 866.77 which may not be a large amount of money in the US, but already a big chunk of my allowance here in the Philippines. I only availed the free trial and I'm sure I ended my subscription there. I did not receive any billing notices. I can't even remove my card. Please help me. How can I make this fast?"

Audible deleted LOTR: Fellowship from my library and account

I've been listening to it for the last 2 weeks after purchasing it with a credit months ago. Today I openedy app and the player showed the book, but at 00:00 and I couldn't play it. Its gone from my library and the store is saying I need to re-purchase it, and the customer support person on the phone said I never bought it and never had it, otherwise it would be in my purchase history. The only trace left is my listen history shows it as my most recent book! What the heck happened here? Using latest Android version.

Where to view deals?

My mom and I share an Amazon account. She gets all of the emails regarding orders and anything audible. She usually forwards everything to me. I never get anything from audible than a confirmation of a new credit spent. How can I find these deals that people talk about? also, if I cancel my membership to take advantage of a free offer, do I lose my library? I like to keep track of all the books. I’ve listened to.

Book recommendations

I've just finished Bobiverse and am now left without anything queued up. I'm hoping that you guys can suggest some good listening based on my previous listening to help me stay sane at work. I'm gonna lost everything I've listened to so far now and if anyone has any good recommendations based on these I would be thankful to hear it.

📚 A song of ice and fire series These got me into audiobooks. Amazing value. the battles were so realistic and gritty with characters that I was so invested in it really kept me at the edge of my seat. (1 re-listen)

📕 Fire and blood Didn't get on with this nearly as well. Half the characters were called Aegon and made it difficult to follow. I did listen to this before the show came out so maybe this is less of an issue now.

📕A knight of the seven kingdoms Really liked this one, was aided by the fact it was in the GOT universe tho. Dink and egg were very endearing and you can't help but root for them.

📕 World war Z Great listen, took a little while to get into it but so rich and deep when I did. Realistic zombies with geopolitical impact was interesting (1 re-listen)

📚 Ready player one and two These were fun. I did find myself a lil lost a couple times but interesting non the less

📚 Hitch Hikers guide series I liked the first couple but by the time I got to book 3 and it was very cricket focused I realised I wanted something that took itself a bit more seriously so I stopped there.

📕 The lord of the rings Loved the movie, stopped the book a quarter of the way in. Fuck tom bombadil.

📚 Annihilation series Interesting, suspenseful but maybe suffered from being a bit too long? That's not to say I like short books, just that I think the middle book especially would've benefitted form being condensed.

📕 Devolution I really liked this one, from the same author as world war Z it felt suspenseful and had good character growth.

📕 The terror The begining and middle were great but I wasn't sold on the ending. I think it's hard to write a long horror, I go and do everyday boring life stuff at random intervals and horror suffers more for that than other genres.

📚 Harry potter series Grew up with the movies so was interesting to see a more detailed world, book 1 and 2 felt like they were for the younger demographic.

📚 Dungeon Crawler Carl Amazing... I'm waiting to be able to buy book 7 on 11th November. The humour, the story, it's bloody gripping I couldn't stop listening. I love something that's funny but takes itself seriously. (1 re-listen(straight after finishing my first))

📕Project hail Mary Great again, couldn't put it down. I loved the relationship between the characters and it wrapped itself up nicely.

📚 Bobiverse series It took about 3 weeks for me to go through all five books and they were so engaging right from the start. The universe felt so alive and I couldn't wait to see what was around each new corner. But now I've finished "till we are lost" I have to wait to see what's around the next corner.

This went a bit longer than I was expecting, sorry I think I got carried away. But yeah, I am now without direction so suggestions please and thank you.

Help me choose my next book (please)

I can't decide between these 3 books:

Ready Player One, The Name of The Wind, Jurassic Park

I'm still chasing the high of Project Hail Mary so if you have listened to that one please let me know which of those three gave you a similar experience! Thank you

Reccomendations with silly summaries for you

I decided to make a list of some of the books/book series I’ve read over the years as recommendations. They lean (quite heavily) towards the science fiction with a little bit of fantasy. Each book alone may not pique your interest but there is surely something here you may enjoy. Many are popular and if you’ve been on audible for any amount of time you’ve probably listened to but I’m hoping there’s something here for even the veterans (praying cause y’all have a ridiculous amount of hours I just can’t keep up with XD).

I’m also doing this because I need recommendations people! I just finished the latest book of Ex-force and after that goddam cliffhanger I need a new book or series to cling to.

Project Haily Mary: (please dear god read this Top 1 book of all time)

-          Step aside spiders, microbes are the new, hip, phobia.

Dungeon Crawler Carl: (join the cult of donut holes, best book series of all time)

-          If space hunger games was a comedy….NEW ACHIEVEMENT you have read an audible book reddit recommendation post for Dungeon Crawler Carl, what a nerd. REWAARRRRD: a subscription to feet_pics.com and a crippling addiction to Jeff Hays beautiful, sexy voice.

Columbus Day (Expeditionary Force):

-          Humans are the Florida man of space, even with the usual accompanying beer can, checking the label it comes from a brand called…. Skippy’s supply co?

The perfect Run:

-          How insane do you think your videogame character would be by the end of a playthrough if they could perceive returning to save points? Well now you can find out!

All systems Red (Murder bot):

-          A very, very sophisticated roomba with guns has accidentally given itself crippling social anxiety, how can it speedrun protecting a bunch of human from threats so it can get back watching tv.

Red Dwarf:

-          Even after watching the tv show this book felt like a fever dream. If you watched the tv show basically everything was condensed into a single book, I personally read the book first and tv show later and you will never be more confused yet entertained listening to an audiobook.

We are Legion (we are Bob):

-          First imagine spore (yes the videogame), ok now add on the stupid amount of names of middle earth but imagine all of the characters are pretty much the exact same, now you have the Bobiverse

Off to be the wizard:

-          Give a bunch of tech nerds the ability to access the code of the universe. They are functionally gods and yet, they still have to deal with programming and crippling social anxiety, almost feel bad for them.

Delta V

-          Mining is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, generating 8% of the fatal work accidents worldwide, we gotta pump those number up with space mining.

Rendezvous with Rama:

-          This series is an interesting one, the first book is a masterpiece of suspense, curiosity, excitement and just the general feeling of the unknown. The second book is worse but you can still finish it I guess, the third book is genuinely has one of the worst 3 hours of a book I’ve ever read. It felt like a chore and I was genuinely so uncomfortable most of the time. Definitely read the first book, it’s amazing, but maybe leave it at that.

Fuzzy Nation:

-          A man, his explosive setting off dog and an adorable colony of aliens try and battle the scariest thing in this galaxy, a bunch of capitalist lawyers whose clients are one genocide away from what is basically the lottery.

The sandman:

-          Listen to this for the narration alone, goddam Morpheus voice (James McAvoy) is like butter. This series is a collection of stories surrounding the being who controls our dreams (and cats apparently?). It kind of reminds me of an older relative being explained what a meme is, except it’s a god, being confused about why we are the way we are.

Of sea and Shadow:

-          Pirates, assassins, empires and cults.

Travelers gate:

-          A boy full of spite and anger surpasses the golden, chosen one in sword fighting ability and basic morality.

Quantum magician:

-          Ive always hated and somewhat feared puppets, I know it’s a stupid fear yet I still have it. In this book that fear is justified! I’ve never been more unsettled, disturbed, horrified or disgusted at a species before…. Oh they’re not technically the main point of the book? I do not care, I despise them, and I despise Derek Künsken for making such a brilliant book that I had to continue reading.

The Fear Saga (Fear the sky):

-          The conspiracy theorists weren’t crazy enough, the birds weren’t drones for the government, HUMANS ARE for aliens. It all makes sense. This series honestly does just feel like “what would happen if the crazy conspiracy theorist was right” and yet somehow its incredibly good.

Black fleet trilogy (warship):

-          Most sci-fi, sci-fi book trilogy to have ever sci-fied

The name of the wind:

-          A more adult targeted, harry potter and lord of the rings epic fantasy combo. Incredibly good.

Ready player one:

-          You know ready player one, everyone and their grandparents knows ready player one. I have to put it in here so someone doesn’t go “o uhm what about ready player one”. Great book, has a movie but read the book first, if you like sci-fi you like this.

The salvage crew:

-          Everything that can go wrong does, how can they salvage (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) the situation, with added comedy!

Lost Fleet:

-          It has good space battle scenes, story building and characters, it is a good series throughout…. I just found the ending incredibly disappointing, felt rushed and a lot of loose ends.

Where the hell is tesla:

-          Another fever dream like book, the book series is incredibly enjoyable as long as you turn off your brain, leave it in the car with the windows rolled down and a bit of water, it should be fine. Not sure how to describe it other than an interdimensional, silly hijinks world saving story.

Unsouled:

-          Country bumpkin becomes a god. An in-depth fantasy universe with great character development and interesting fighting system. Just an overall great power progression series.

Cast under an alien sun:

-          I remember very little about this as I read it awhile ago. What I do remember is that it was good, it felt very long and there was a joke I found funny the guy told about an angel? Pretty sure it was an extreme version of lost/castaway.

Will save the galaxy for food:

-          Broke spaceman is wayyyyyy in over his head but uses his wit to try and get a final payday… and also survive.

The wrong unit:

-          An incredibly loyal robot is trying its very best to be a good mailman for humanity. Honestly the entire book has road trip vibes and I read it all in one sitting grinning to myself like an insane person.

Hell Divers:

-          Undoubtedly the edgiest book series I’ve ever read an unironically liked (at least for the first few books) its got everything including WW3, a poisoned earth, mutilated creatures, dystopian flying cities that only stay alive from sacrificial lambs and an overarching commentary on the nature of humans.

Old mans war:

-          The French pushed back the retirement age from 62 to 64… these are rookie numbers

Red Shirts:

-          Someone finally investigated why the Star Trek redshirts keep bloody dying.

Audible Books Not Downloading in Kindle

Kindle is not downloading Brandon Sanderson Stormlight Archive books I’ve owned for years on the Kindle app on iOS 18.1 and read/listened to several times before. I just re-read book 1, and book 2, 3, and 3 download, but not the accompanying audiobook (both of which I’ve downloaded before). The headphone icon isn’t showing for other than book 1.

I tried syncing, reconnecting to my network, logging out logging in, syncing again, but it still doesn’t work.

I’m forced to listen using the Audible app.

What’s going on? Why the service failure to work correctly?

Bedtime books

What books do yall like to put on when you go to sleep? I normally put my AirPods in at a low volume & play something. Lately I’ve been putting on…

Band of Brothers

With the Old Breed

Generation Kill

Unbroken

The Death of WCW

Normally it’s non fiction but I’ve used Andy Serkis’ versions of ‘The Hobbit’ & ‘LotR’ as well but he is so good I can’t really fall asleep to them.

Open to new ideas & any genre. I’ve heard the Harry Potter books are good for sleep. Getting a little burnt out on Podcasts.

What are your top 5 Science Fiction Books?

I recently got into Sci Fi finished Robot dreams and Robot visions. Trying to get a few suggestions on what to read next. Please do not suggest Dune. Dune is great. No offense but want to get rid of the obvious ones like Dune, 1984 out of the picture. Any suggestions like the Culture series are appreciated.

Membership Pause Vs,. Cancel question

I am coming off my second discounted membership in a few weeks and I don't want to pay full price. I started with the $0.99/month for 3 months followed by 3 months at half price. I have 3 credits left as I have mostly been using Libby and Spotify and listen on average to 3 books a month. Currently listening to Last Plane in the Sky.

If I place my membership on pause will I still be able to listen to books I have already "purchased" with my credits or do I loose access to them while my membership is paused or is it just access to the Plus catalogue?

I want to try and catch up on my Audible backlog, about 4 books, but no need to pay for additional months. If not I am thinking about redeeming all of my credits for books on my Wishlist and then try to cancel for reason "Too Expensive" and see if they offer me a discount. I like the audible exclusives like Born a Crime, and not having the self-imposed time pressure to finish a book like I do with Libby and Spotify.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Audible on a dedicated mp3 player

I've got a bad bedtime digital addiction I'm trying to kick.

I fall asleep listening to Audible audiobooks, and travel a lot and need a reliable way to set an secondary alarm, in addition to the physical alarm clock I also use. I want to leave my phone in another room and use another dedicated device for these functions.

My research so far:

  1. Sony walkmans (e.g. NW-a306) are nice and small and run android so audible is easy, but they have Internet access and no built-in speaker for an alarm.

  2. The SanDisk Clip Jam is really close, nice little mp3 player that advertises Audible DRM compatibility, but no alarm feature. Has anyone actually used this with Audible?

  3. Creative Zens might have fulfilled all these criteria but were last made in 2011. Not sure if they are still Audiblesync compatible. Maybe it's worth trying.

Any ideas?

EDIT: I also prefer wired headphones, one less thing to charge, so it needs to have a headphone jack.

EDIT2: Inspired by someone's recommendation, I've ordered the HiBy M300 which is a little audio player running Android13 with a built-in speaker. Will try to report back!
