Last year a colleague and I traveled to Atlanta and sat down at the bar at Mary Mac's Tearoom. After reviewing the menu in front of her, my colleague ordered the "Charlize Melon" and received a very confused response from the bartender. After pointing to the drink on the menu, we figured out it was a menu from a different restaurant someone had left there and we all had a laugh. The same colleague and I are returning to Atlanta this month and I'd like to find this mystery restaurant and drink. After a few failed Google searches, I am trying this last effort to see if anyone knows of it. Thanks!

Headed out with friends tonight 2 are on Carnivore diet and 1 is Vegan. Looking for options to keep everyone happy.
I have long considered making the trek to check Canoe and Rays by the River. Are they worth the drive? TIA
It will be my 41st Wedding Anniversary. We are driving from Birmingham, AL to a nice hotel in Atlanta, GA for a two day mini-vacation at the end of June. I want to show my lovely bride a good time.
Can you please recommend some restaurants. Although price is not an issue, great food is. Another words, it can be white table cloth or newspapers on the table. It is our anniversary.
I love STEAK and she Loves Alaskan King Crab Legs. We both love Italian Food. We have two evening meals. One on Sunday Night and one on Monday night. We will be staying Downtown Atlanta with a car.
This will be a two day break from two years of Keto dieting. The hotel we are staying in provides breakfast every morning. No allergies.
I hope I gave enough information. If not, please ask.
I noticed that this sub was unmoderated, so I took the reins.
I'd love to see this sub grow into something that's active and self-sustaining, and I have some ideas I may roll out in a couple of weeks, but for now, if you're seeing thing and you have any thoughts, please feel free to comment below or send me a message via modmail.
For now, I'm going to go through, get a feel for the history here, clean out spam and other stuff, and just take stock of what we've got.
Edit Update: Man there was (is still?) a lot of spam. I know that some of y'all were faithful to report stuff over the past year, even though it looks like there was no action on those reports. I'm going through it now.

I have a friend visiting who wants to get some Vietnamese food, any suggestions?
My friend and I will be driving over from Birmingham next month for a weekend trip. We'll be getting in late on a Friday night - what are some good places to get food late at night that isn't fast food?
Hi All! I’m a student at Georgia Tech working on my Master's project on improving the grocery shopping experience for Vegan/Vegetarians. My teammate and I have created a few concepts based on insights from the initial interviews we conducted. Next, we are looking to get feedback and also conduct a co-design session later this week or early next week.
If you live around Midtown ATL/Georgia Tech and can make time for an in-person session, please comment on this post. The session will be held on Feb 10, Monday from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM. You will receive a $20 incentive for your time. It would be super helpful if you can make it:) I will share exact location details in personal messages with participants later but it will be around Midtown.
Thanks!
Go !
I'm visiting some friends in the northeast soon, and would love to bring them a local treat. What would you consider Atlanta's finest? These particular friends are vegetarian, so veg-friendly things would be awesome, but also open to other ideas for other non-vegetarian friends in the future. No liquids please (I'm flying and won't be checking luggage).
Thanks in advance!
Just wanted to start a thread on bars and restaurants that do daily deals like $2 tacos on Tuesday/$1 oysters on Friday/$5 burgers on Wednesday etc. Maybe the mods can add it to the sidebar once it's extensive enough? 🙏
The title pretty much says it all!
I'm visiting from Raleigh/Durham NC for a work conference and tonight is the only night I get to choose where I eat. I'm a fan of southern food, but am down to go anywhere that you think is really, truly, you-shouldn't die-without-eating-here good.
I'd prefer price range to be $-$$. No dietary restrictions but vegetarian entree options preferred.
TIA!!
I feel like I keep striking out on Thai places that deliver via Uber eats and Postmates. What's your go-to? Ideally someplace that's a quick ride to midtown east.
What is a good place for Peking duck ?
Im dying to find a place with okonomiyaki permanently on the menu. I know a few places that have it every now and then as a special, and I know of ok yaki but I cant always make their pop ups. Any spots?
Hi there! I live on the north side and have been in search of a place with New Mexican style food. Haven’t been able to find anywhere with a proper green chile sauce and I miss it a ton since I used to live in New Mexico. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thank you in advance!
Does anyone know if theres a Caribbean grocery store that sells roti bread? I remember eating curry goat with thick roti at my friends moms house. They were from Trinidad. Ive lost touch with them and cant get their recipe.
Never, ever order online at Taco Smell on Spring St in Midtown. They fuck up every fuckin' time. Of course we had the nerve to order 4 or 5 different items and that is just a number that the staff can compute. $15 an hour....fuck that. At least I got more exercise with 2 trips to the Smell.
Lots of fancy hot dog places around town, but none of them seem to serve corn dogs. And palookaville is closed now. What’s the best corn dog in town?
It has been like two decades since I would go and have Dim Sum for brunch. I had a friend of mine that was Chinese that would take me and when he left that stopped.
Now that my son is older and I know he would love it. I want to take him for the experience, and delicious food, but I am not sure where is good anymore.
Hi folks,
I'm looking for some good Caribbean food for my first meal when I visit this weekend. Any recommendations? I will be staying in Midtown if that matters.
Thank you in advance!
