Turkcell esim security problem
I recently activated a turkcell esim and afterwards i received 2 sms at 12 hrs distance each saying that someone tried to pay a disney plus subscription using my number (however it didn't go through because of insufficient balance)
I tried to disable paycell payment option through the app but it asks me to talk with their call center (however i don't speak Turkish at all)
Is there anything i can do in order to avoid being stolen money or balance through my tel number ?

In themiddle of my beautful nap i was woken by the bussesloud horn at 9 am and then a turkish man started ssyingsomething about ataturk and stuff like that i am not sure if he said ataturk or if i am just parinoid but can someone tell me what happend or what did they say or what evenis this. I DONT MEAN TO BE RUDE I LOVE THE COUNTRY I AM JUST CURIOUS
I'm a Lebanese person currently in Istanbul with some family, we came here temporarily to escape the war in my country, but now my family wants to go back. As much as I love my country, I want independence and security, and I can't have that back home. Turkey is one of very few countries I can get into without a visa and without complications. I want to try my best to find a way to make it here on my own knowing I only have a couple weeks to figure things out. I have a remote part time job that pays me around 15K TL, which I was told is less than minimum wage here, but I can manage working a second job along with it. I also have a bit of money saved up, but that wouldn't last me long either. I don't speak Turkish yet, but I am fluent in Arabic, English and French.
I want to ask for resources, about acquiring residency, rent prices, job suggestions, best areas for me to live in, and any advice you have for someone moving here!
I've seen pca plots and dna test results and they seem to be the closest ones genetically to central asians, even most of them are closer to their turkmen cousins than to other populations outside of turkey (greeks, bulgarians, syrians)
I have been dating a turkish girl for a while (im a foreigner) and i think we are going to get married sooner than later. I want her to keep her original surname because taking mine isnt as meaningful in my country. Ill obviously accept that she takes mine as a second one but im just kinda curious if its that common or we are just going to be an exception?
I am looking to organise a trip for six of us (men) to celebrate our turning 50 in a couple of years time and we were considering visiting Istanbul for 7-10 days.
We would be staying at a nice hotel somewhere central and seeing the sights but also visiting some restaurants and clubs. It would be also be great to see one of the big football clubs in action - maybe in a midweek uefa cup game or something similar.
Would late September or October be a good time of the year?
Can anyone recommend a good tourist company to help organise - maybe one that specialises in sports tours (eg foreign team supporters visiting Istanbul)?
Merhaba arkadaşlar, Erasmus yapmaya hak kazandım ve önümüzdeki dönem gideceğim. Garanti Bankası'ndan 2 yıl önce 55 bin TL ihtiyaç kredisi çekmiştim, aralarda gecikme oldu ancak hiç avukata düşmedi. Şu an 25 bin civarı borç kaldı. Bu borç gecikmeye düşmediği sürece sorun olur mu? Hepsini kapatmama gerek var mı? Vize başvurusunda bir sorun teşkil eder mi? Teşekkürler.
Selam, I have plan to travel in Bursa and Uludağ on December then I want to travel one more place/area before go to Izmir. Do you have any recommend place/area to travel please?

Hi there, so we have Atalanta for Serie A, who is the dark horse or underdog of Turkish Football?
I recently purchased a property in the US for $150,000 through Dolarlakira, a brand of Winco Invest, a company owned by Serkan Gokmener, who is based in Baltimore and managed by Omer Iscimen and Oguzhan Cetiner in Istanbul. Municipality records show that they and their affiliate organization purchased this property for $47,500 three years ago, sold it to me for $150,000 two years ago, and made substantial profits with my money. Their organization and affiliates paid me rent for 1.5 years, but I later discovered that one of my tenants had moved out while the other had been occupying the home for about a year without paying rent. Now, I am facing additional expenses of $10,000 for eviction and repairs, and I can’t even sell this house for $100,000. This Winco Invest and its affiliates lack transparency, and they never get back with accurate answers. I have learned that many others have had similar experiences but are hesitant to speak up. There is a lot more to the story, and I need your opinion on what legal action we could take.
Hi everyone,
My parents are from Turkey, I was born and raised in Canada, I never lived in Turkey and have only visited, albeit quite a few times, before I turned 19, which is the age of legal conscription. I have recently found my old Turkish ID card, registered with only my middle name on it (I technically have 3 names on my Canadian ID but only 2 names on my Turkish ID since I was only registered with middle/last name, hence they do not match). The ID card doesn't have a photo on it, and I have never registered for eDevlet or anything like that. I am not sure if I will be conscripted or not upon entry to Turkey - is this even a risk? Given that my Canadian documents carry an extra name than my Turkish ones, and that I always had to pay the visa fee before it was abolished while traveling on a Canadian passport (despite my Turkish name) makes me think they did not put two and two together and that I might be entirely off the hook. Would this be likely to be the case, or do I still need to pay the $5000 or so exemption fee?
(Many people will advise me to go to the embassy and sort this out, which I'd be willing to do if it didn't involve also bringing ID that has my full Canadian name on it + Turkish ID with my Turkish name on it. That would be the issue with that.)
Any clarification is appreciated, thank you!
Yoksa bütün muhalefet şahmat mı olur?
Hey there! I decided to change my eyeglasses for vision correction. I know my dioptrics from memory and simply want to refresh my style with some new frames.
Yesterday I visited a local optician in Istanbul, picked out some frames I liked. Unfortunately, I was told that I needed a prescription to place an order. Without the prescription data it’s technically impossible to place an order in their system.
Is it standard and the only practice for opticians in Istanbul/Turkiye to require a prescription for glasses?
Are there any simple and thrifty ways to get a prescription, perhaps at a pharmacy? I have a standard health policy for foreign nationals, and live in the Asian side of Istanbul. Thanks for any advice!
Are there any Revolut-style banks that allow you to open an online bank account from abroad? I am a Turkish citizen.
I’m traveling to Istanbul soon from outside the country. I signed up for a Touristanbul package from the IST airport. I recently learnt there is an Asian side and a European side to Istanbul. How does that work? I’m trying to ensure I have the correct visa to do this tour. I did get my e-visa from the Turkish government site. Your help is greatly appreciated.
First I don't mean to make arguments or hate in any kind but this makes me struggle alot when trying to understand turkey. Why do many Turks support a president who stands in opposition to many of Atatürk’s core values? I have heard so much about Atatürk and the things he did and thought I went to museums and I can understand why is such a great hero for the turkish people but in the other side I see people supporting several political decisions that are so different that Atatürks actions and ideals (Or at least the things they say about him)
I would like to learn and understand what's the reasoning of this.
Thanks for taking the time to read!
I am an American who is doing research on dental implants and I have learned Turkey is the best! Has anyone had full dental implants done here before and if so please share your experience with me! I would appreciate any advice
So I'm an international student studying in Istanbul (i have fluent Turkish with no strong accent). As a rock music enjoyer where are the best places to hang out where it's chill. I'm open to place suggestions where: •good interior •where i can socialise •normal, slightly above normal prices •not very busy it can be any of these or all 4 at the same time. I've been to Kadikoy but i don't get what all the vibe is about. It's a really busy place filled with overpriced bars that are boring. Trying socialising there is basically pointless too since most people go with their friends there.
I have a project consisting of security systems, I need someone Turkish who speaks both English and Turkish fluently.
I need someone with a technical background who understands computer and device systems, the rest will be explained.
