So i was the scumbag yesterday who was asking how best to broach the subject of keeping a situationship discreet...
i spoke to the girl in question, i explained that i was only very recently single and that i believe my X was struggling with the relationship being over and that i didnt want to make things worse for her, and while she (situationship) didnt owe me or my x anything, would it be possible to not mention to mutual friends that we had been seeing eachother - again, entirely up to her but i would appreciate it
she said that she didnt want to be anyone's dirty little secret (quote from one of the replies yesterday actually lol) or a stepping stone as that is not her, so if i'm not in a place where i can see her normally then its better to leave it.
I agreed, i dont want to be sneaking around in secret either nor am i anywhere near being ready for anything approaching a relationship. Its not fair on her and i shouldn't have let anything begin. i was thinking with the wrong head.
so that's that. fin.
Is that fair enough?
I did an at home (finger prick) blood test on the 14th March 2024, and my prolactin came back as 1,502 mIU/l (anything over 325 is considered high). I found this seriously alarming so I went to my GP and he did a blood test on the 21st March 2024, which came back as 251mIU/l, so within the normal range and very different to the at home test.
Yesterday, 31st October 2024, I got the results of another at home blood test I did earlier this week, and my prolactin came back as 1,165mIU/l. I'm quite worried again now, and wondering if I should go to the doctor or if this is likely another false reading?
For context, I had sex 5 or 6 times in the 48 hours before the blood test and take sertraline (25mg daily) for mild anxiety, as well as melatonin (3mg) at night before bed, all of which I believe, if I'm not mistaken, can give falsely high prolactin readings. I have also taken MK677 (ibutamoren) in the past for bodybuilding purposes.
Any help or advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated.
My whole family is registered as homeless. We were staying on the property of a 'family friend' until it turned out how emotionally abusive of an individual he is. We wanted to move out when we would be financially be able to, but the situation escalated and my family had to move out on short notice. So now we are temporarily staying at a family friend's. We have more peace emotionally now, but I am 19 and really want a job. The problem is that where we are staying at is in Northern Ireland, so due to having an EU passport I cannot work here. My plan to move out from my parents was to save up Jobseeksers Benefit and then I'd be able to find a room to rent, but it's not possible after our move to collect the money if I'm in NI. I contacted the county council of the county that I have the most ties with, because my family didn't stay in the previous county long enough to receive much help. I contacted the homeless department but they said their shelters are all full. How do I move out with no money? I am so desperate. I am willing to work at McDonald's idc, but then at first I'd have to sleep in the streets! What do I do???
Does anyone know if car hire companies in Dublin Airport provide Child Seats with Isofix attachments? I rented a car in Cork Airport recently and all the child seats used the seat belt style attachments which I'm not crazy about....
Hi, can people recommend places and price to get a new front and back door.
Am I reading right that there are no grants available?
well lads!
So that Australian with the dumbass history teacher got me thinking about my own primary school education.
For context I am 35, so 90s schooling I don't think I learned "real" history when I was in primary school up till about 5th or 6th class (with the exception of local history so the teacher could take us out to the local castle every year). In the mean time we just learned about ancient history and myth. I specifically remember being taught the Ulster cycle and the story of Romulus and Remus as if they were real. I don't know if it was a curriculum thing, a 90s thing, a Catholic thing, or a faulty memory thing - maybe I did learn but I wasn't as interested as I was with myth.
Hi, i tried to google it, but i am not sure 100%.
I know motorways and some bridges have a local toll and M50 only camera based.
But M11 is also motorway, but no toll barrier on it. So its free to use?
Thank you.
I’ve been signed off work by my doctor, and I was originally given a few weeks off, but doctor has extended this by another few weeks. Do I need to put in another claim to be covered for the additional few weeks, or does it go under my original claim?
Hi Folks, besides the IMMA are there any galleries around the country that have modern art? I just found the Hugh Lane gallery which looks great too. thx!
The damn clocks going back
Do you give the flash of the full beams for speed vans and guards? Why or why not?
I am referring to the time period from June 1922 - May 1923.
This might seem like a stupid question, but it has been bugging me for ages...
Years ago, I was sitting in high school English class (in Australia). We had to write a short story, but my teacher (who is from South Africa) said to everyone "don't write another war story, I'm sick of reading them." At the time, I had just written an essay on Michael Collins in history class. I am also related to Roger Casement, so I knew about and was interested in this period of Irish history. So I asked her "can we write a war story if it is about something other than ww1/ww2?" She asked me what war I wanted to write about and I told her "The Irish Civil War."
She said 'there's no such thing' and I said 'yes there is, I've just read about it, it happened right after the war of independence.' She said 'There is no such thing, I should know I have an Irish husband'. She then berated me in front of the entire class, saying a tirade of stuff like 'only the winners would call it a civil war' and I had no idea what she was referring to etc. She was so rude she made me cry.
The next day (to her credit), she did apologise to me and say "I asked my Irish husband, and he thinks you are referring to a period of time known as 'the troubles', but that started much later in the 60s, and you wouldn't call it a civil war'." I mean, kudos to her for apologising, but I was most definitely NOT referring to the troubles.
Is the civil war called something different in Ireland? Kinda like how the 'Vietnam War' is called the 'American War' in Vietnam. Or is it considered just an extension of the war of independence? I can't find anything on the internet that suggests the 'civil war' did not exist, or goes by any other name, so I'm thinking my teacher is just ignorant and I am right. But I am doubting myself because her Irish husband didn't even know what I was referring to? Am I going crazy?
Lads I have a Segway Ninebot D18e and the battery is gone mad on it.
It's fucking me up for work for the second time in a row, the distance it is meant to go is 17km but it's now only giving me 5.7km which is shocking.
Is this normal battery degradation?(I've had it two years)
Has anyone upgraded the battery in their scooter before? Because I'm actually sick of this shit.
My employer is looking into the Bike To Work scheme to get me an e bike but I've no idea how long that takes!
Quick one - Myself and my partner are going to Glasgow, Scotland in January for 2 nights, for a concert. Concert is on the first night and we plan to have a night out the second night. Any thoughts on How much spending money should we have roughly for those two nights? Thank you 🙏🏼
I have been to Dublin several times and I never really cared for this aesthetic of the spire. Knowing the history, I kind of wish the Irish government could have stabilized the remains of the pillar and left it as a more poignant symbol of nationalism and reconciliation (to an extent)...that's the view of an American....how do you all feel? Guessing it doesn't come up often at this point, but curious what the general attitude is.
I am a Filipina woman looking to find an Irish for love. About me - 30yrs old, chubby, works in the corporate.
Is there a chance?
Title speaks for itself.. I want to import a Scorpion light tank from the UK. I also want to drive it. I live in Dublin. Would this be legal? Will I pass the NCT? Will someone insure it? Obviously any weapons will need to be removed, tho can I keep the cannon exterior if I remove the firing parts?
GRMA.
Hi there,
I am after putting down a deposit onto a new build. I am availing of the First home scheme. BUT, If I wait after Christmas I will be able to avail of lower Equity plus the HTB scheme. I was told by the developers that snagging will be in the next 4 weeks, which will bring us to the start of December. Is there any way I can push it out to January or is it up to the developer. Or any tips in general.
Thanks.
Bit of a rant but I am forever tipping around feeling like shite (physically) or have a cold? Mentally sound but I’m sitting awake with an absolute banging headache, stuffed nose and dry throat which is becoming a near monthly issue.
I got my tonsils out this year age 25 but still get sick just no tonsillitis. I’m pinning it on working from home, I feel as like I’m couped up at home too much.
Anyone feel the same or went through this how did you improve your immune system?
Could somebody who has a musgraves account check the price of an item for me?
I'm sick of buying single bottles of german lager for around €3.60 a piece. Thanks
Hi, I’m wondering if anyone can help me with the most ignorant neighbours ever. These two turkish boys are renting since March 2024 and every night until at least midnight/1am all I hear is shouting and roaring. All evening after work I hear them then same again when I go to bed. I’m up at 7am for the gym and then go to work. I can’t relax in my own home in peace after a long days work and can’t even sleep until late as they’re continuing to shout and talk loudly. I’ve knocked on the door on a few occasions but they won’t answer. I’ve text their landlord on multiple occasions all after 11pm and he doesn’t even look at the message until a few days later and he never replies. He told me when these two idiots moved in that if I ever have a problem to contact him. He doesn’t answer calls either. I’ve gone to the guards about them but they can’t do anything about it. I own my home and I’m considering moving because of these fuck twats. Can anyone help in anyway please. My sleep is affected and my work, (I work in a busy warehouse). Thanks
Moved home yesterday, it was quite the ordeal. Was looking forward to a coffee but it seems you'd need a voltage converter. Sounds like the wattage might be a factor too and it seems like I might be shit out of luck.
Grinder - 120V ~ 60Hz, 130W.
Coffee Maker - 120V ~ 60Hz, 1560W.
Brought them over because replacing them here seemed way more expensive but now we're feeling silly for not looking into it.
My understanding is that the higher the wattage the stronger (?) the converter you need. They seem to get more expensive the higher you get and I'm not even sure you can find one for 1560W
So I'm a 17f lesbian coming over from the States to college to escape the bullshit over there, anything I should know?"
I plan on handing in my notice to work soon. Problem is, my manager and assistant manager are both on annual leave and I'm the next person in charge. We don't have a hr department.
Should I just type out the letter, leave it under her door and then also email them both? I know at least one of them regularly reads emails when they're not in work so they will get it. Is that official enough, or do I need to actually hand it to them in person?
They will both be back from leave well before my notice period ends.
So when i worked in hotels, we often got bus fulls of English pensioners who were on a tour where they'd basically pay an all inclusive fee for the a bus tour that consisted of their bus journey to Ireland (on ferry I'd assume), night or 2 in a hotel, all meals and then some excursion/daytrip up to glendalough or something similar and they all seemed to love it.
My parents are now that age and I'd love to get them a gift of one of these tours but I can't seem to find any Irish ones. Does anyone know of any sort of thing like this?
Lads what does the A, B, C, and D destination mean on Irish Rail. For example on some trains it’ll say destination C Heuston and on non-stop trains it’ll say A if I recall correctly. Can anyone answer what the letters stand for?
Open to any suggestions!
Hi all,
First-time homeowner here getting keys to a new build in Cork City in May 2024. Looking for recommendations for a reputable professional snagger/snag list inspector to thoroughly check the property before handover from the developer.
Would really appreciate recommendations for someone who:
Any experiences, recommendations, or words of advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has gone through this process recently, what was your experience like and what should I look out for?
Also, would be great if anyone could share the approximate cost for a snagging inspection for a 2-story new build? Just want to make sure I'm budgeting correctly and not getting overcharged.
Thanks in advance!
Will ya tell me where to find it? I looked everywhere, it's not on rte player [only the 3rd season is] and I haven't a clue where to find it.
thanks lads
