I killed her and died simultaneously, getting the dialogue she gives when she kills you (i also failed the mission after the fade-to-white)
OMEGA PHENEX COMMENCED PROJECT SIX on Steam
New indie mech game that reminds me of AC4:FA would recommend checking it out.
Ignoring effectiveness or damage output, what is you coolest/favorite weapon/ac loadout?
I played this game before but I uninstalled it from my pc to make space. I wanted to play it again but now it won't let me anymore;(
Gideon offers Keanu's character to take his anger out on some old guy and his doll. Gideon offers some money. Given Keanu's character's traits, it's highly likely that he accepts Gideon's offer. Gideon's offer to take out his anger on Gehrman and the doll might appeal to Keanu's character, given his volatile nature and tendency to lash out. Keanu's character doesn't seem to have a strong sense of empathy or compassion, which might make it easier for him to accept the job and harm someone. Gideon has Keanu's character head to the hunters dream. Keanu's character beats up the doll, beating it's broken body even after killing it. Keanu's character heads to the hunters workshop where he encounters Gehrman. Keanu's character proceeds to land hits at Gehrman. Gehrman vanishes. Gideon shows up and unmasks himself, showing his aged appearance. Keanu's character proceeds to attack Gideon given how edgy he is. Gideon hands Keanu's character a gun which the character uses on Gideon but is soon enough killed. Gideon undoes everything.
This is what happened after the asset management animation and you can't convince me otherwise
For fun
I just finished my first play through of AC6 and got the "liberator of Rubicon" ending. I understand that Ng+ and Ng+2 change some of the missions and I know that early on you get to help out the RLF. If I side with them, do I get locked into the same ending again? I'd like to side with them on some mission, but I want to get a different ending. Is that possible?
"Also Crest: Gets blown up every mission."
I got all gen1 games to work with mouse and keyboard, and while I find it very fun, I've been thinking that I'm making the games too easy. AC1 had alright difficulty, but the last mission was perfectly challenging (in a slightly annoying way lol). PP was insanely easy, only the arena was a bit challenging. And I've just started MoA. A good challenge and fast-paced gameplay are the two things I enjoy the most in games, so having to choose between them is pretty tough. What would you think?
Disclaimer: This rant is not meant to attack or insult fans of the newer Armored Core games, but rather to express my own disappointment and frustration with the direction the series has taken.
Let me start that I appreciate that Armored Core is now known in the mainstream instead of being some bargain bin treasure you'd find at random. But that's as far as I can say positive things about it. This is a rant about some of the nonsense I've heard over the years and this is coming from a long-time fan, back when Armored Core was quite dead so to speak, when even this subreddit was still fairly new. I want to bite back so to speak about some of the things that old gen did well, because many have forgotten or have been clouded.
Point One: This is going to sound like a meme. But the long underrated Weapon Arms. All I've seen is just the hate that surrounds them. Most of the complaints are due to their 'low ammo' which is just a bad saying. You have to build around them not use them on their lonesome. For example, AC3 has an amazing weapon arm known as the FIN. They're the yellowish-green laser shotguns that no one uses, but exceptional at just erasing ACs from existence if you're good.
Hell, Armored Core 2 had those machine gun arms that are stupendously broken. Gen 2 was basically the gen of weapon arms. Some of them simply outclassed the Karasawa without a doubt. They should make a return as needed. But are seemingly forgotten about.
Point Two: The villains. We all know Nine Ball, Strayed, and Leos Klein. But if you take a backstep instead of the nostalgia clouding one's judgment. Leos Klein is the best villain, no? People say Strayed is good, but he's literally Leos Klein Mk2, am I not right? (Not to mention how much SEGA ruined Generation 4). Nine Ball is just iconic but that's it. I couldn't honestly tell you which AC6 villain was memorable. All of them seemed quite cliched. Leos Klein had that shock value in that he's YOU. His motivations made sense, even with the botched translations most of the games had. He just wanted to follow the steps of Nine Ball once he realized his mistake. He knows that humanity is flawed and needs a guide.
Point Three: The bosses. People say that the bosses in AC6 are great, I don't doubt that. But are all of you forgetting what the series has made? Let's see... In Armored Core 3, we have that Ofhanim, that double-staged boss fight that needed strategy, rather than just blindly rushing in. The submarine boss, however, could die in a hole. Armored Core 2 Another Age had Grey Cloud, the massive MT. That thing needed a strategy like hiding behind buildings or you just get vaporized. Even Armored Core 1 the very first game had the Chrome path end on the amazing timer boss as the Justice superweapon. Even if it was really easy, it was exceptionally cool to just go inside a giant laser gun to destroy it from within. Those who say that the Murakumo path is better, say that because it's way easier. Compared to the Chrome path where you get to go to the moon!
Point Four: The story. I can appreciate what AC6 has done with the story of what makes space travel viable. But the characters didn't live up to the hype. The old-gen ACs had this charm where you knew everything about a pilot just from one line. Best example is AC3 with the Infiltrate Rehito Lab mission. For context, I think this is after Mirage betrays you for some random reason at Magna Ruins. Everyone calls you a rebel and a traitor to the cause, but then in this mission you meet Nocturne. He comes out with this bombshell of a line, "Weāre both Ravens...just do what comes naturally. Donāt think about it." This Raven is just awesome. He doesn't shout at you for what you've done or why you're here, he's just doing his job, just like you.
Another thing about ACs story. In my opinion, AC Nexus has the best plot due to the world-building it did. You felt as if the world was lived in with all the news reports after every mission. The meme of it being the game where your radiator implodes is nonsensical due to it being easily fixed. A lot of what Nexus did was awesome, including Disc 2.
Point Five (the last one): Weapon variety. I know, I know. Rambling about weapons again. But let us remember the sheer weapon variety in old gen. We have had ECM Rockets that mess with your lock-ons, the infamousĀ CROW extension, generator jammers (a really cool concept), napalm missiles, that dual stealth inflicting dual back part in gen 2 (cool concept, but they never worked well), and many others. Where I can really commend Last Raven is in it's part variety in the portable version, there's so many remakes of the parts from gen 2 and other games.
And that's about it. This is just something that has been bothering me ever since AC6 came around. I can appreciate the new game, but it's not the same. And that doesn't mean I hate it, I remain neutral.
Frist FromSoft game is Elden Ring, absolutely love that game. Wondering about war crimes.
Is there a subreddit for AC6 modding?
If not, can someone help me in telling me how to get into the modding scene because the nexus mods manager doesnāt recognise AC6 and the dark souls mod manager doesnāt work for me, is there a good video out there where the person actually talks you through it and doesnāt have the stupid text of what heās saying pop up on the screen? Any help would be appreciated.
AC // ROBBER
a.k.a. the "Balam Crab" (Balam, Dafeng, Furlong, Melinite)
Shoutout to AJ_Ajun over on yt for being the inspiration as well as study material for this build (srsly check them out, their matches are super cool). My take on their build uses tankier frames and swaps the Harris for the TYS for more agressive close range attacks, but at the cost of slower speed and limited mid range options, so this build suffers a lot against kites. Hope your AB game is on point lol. The heavy DUO is pretty much just there to complete the crab theme with its pincer-like flight path. The name "Robber" is a nod to G6's AC "Hermit", but instead of a hermit crab, its the bigger, stronger cousin the robber crab. A very technical and super fun build.
AC // FREEMAN'S FOLLY
a.k.a. the "Arquebus Mosquito" (Arquebus, ADD, Schneider, VCPL, Takigawa)
Somewhat tricky to use, mainly for the Eule. The main game plan is to play it like any other kites; keep your distance and pellet them with shit from afar, and when the enemy gets to close (around 70-90m) use the Eule to keep them away. Or; deploy all 3 shields relatively close to each other and kite around and through it. Easier said than done, but its adds a layer of complexity to an otherwise very straightforward playstyle. You are going to die a lot with this build ngl, but hey, this is more for fun than anything. "Freeman's Folly" is the nickname of the British WW2 aircraft DH.98 Mosquito. As for why its a mosquito, I just wanna make something in honor of V.VI.
AC // FAT PHOENIX
a.k.a. the "RAD Chicken" (RAD, RI*)
Probably my favourite of the 4. Its basically a heavy agressive missile kite. The Bad Cook is what ties everything together. It is both a smokescreen for both you and your attacks, and a psychological deterrant that will make most opponent panic when they get too close. It is so good at this that it can even make Delivery Boy land some hits which does hella damage (still useless most of the time tho lol). And since it also does ACS anomaly it also makes it easier to stagger them, after which you can punish with a very meaty kick from a 90k RJ. Everything just works so well together. I use RI fcs and genny for Carla and the fact that RAD is a faction of coral-snorting dosers. "Fat Phoenix" is pretty self explanatory.
AC // FESTINA LENTE
a.k.a. the "RLF Tortoise" (BAWS, Elcano, Furlong, Melinite, Takigawa)
Since its the wheelchair, might as well use all weapons that require firing stance. At first I made it a full artillery build with Earshot and Songbird, but it ends up making it way to predictable and easy to dodge. Swapping for missiles makes its attacks less homogenous. Plus, Container missile is a lot more fun than I thought. Is it better than MLT10 or any other missiles? Not really, but it does tend to catch the opponent by surprise as people are not used to fight it because of how rare it is to see it being used in pvp. "Festina lente" is a latin phrase that means "hasten slowly" and has been used to describe the story of the Rabbit and the Tortoise, which is appropriate here as it is a build that is very fast but uses weapons that are slow to fire. Also, is it just me, or do people forgot how to fight against wheelchair or something? From my personal experience this build has a surprisingly high win rate for some reason.
I'll never complain about Ambient again because this kit was the epitome of dogwater. Why bother having leg joints if YOU DONT WANNA STAND. And don't even get me started on the leg pieces, I can't stand how the legs connect on this piece of shit.
