American writer looking for Armenian authenticity/sensitivity reader

Hi!

I don't think this is against the rules, but if so I'll delete.

I'm a beginning self-pub American author who writes historical romance. I have a novella (1893 Cambridge) with an Armenian secondary character and I want to make sure I'm writing him positively and authentically. Would anyone be interested in reading a few scenes and giving me honest feedback for how he appears? I can offer (a little) compensation.

I have tried to find a way to order this.. but without any luck. I tried to find an epub version and google led me to a sight called z-lib. Does anyone have an idea if this is a safe sight?

Are there any anthologies of Armenian literature you would recommend?

I wasn't sure which flair to add, because I am interested in all eras. I'm old, so I like old-fashioned books on paper. I already have the Zohrab Bible, a Bible in modern Armenian, The Key of Truth by Frederick Cornwallis Conybeare and Z Arzoumanian's translation of Lewond's history with introduction in English and Armenian.

How is the word "jan" used in the Western Armenian dialect?

Hi ! A few things I'm particularly interested in, regarding the word "jan" is:

  1. How often it's used amongst the Western Armenian dialect-speaking population?
  2. The origins (and history) of the word?
  3. Whether they are any other variations of "jan" and what each variation means?
  4. Who would you use "jan" with?
  5. How can these words be used in a sentence or in speech?

Is the Trojan War ever mentioned in ancient/medieval Armenian literature or oral tales?

Given the geographical location of the kingdom of Armenia in ancient and pre-meadival times, would there be any possibility of Armenians knowing about the Trojan War from centuries earlier?

Do any Armenian writings of folktales ever mention or discuss this series of legendary events?

Any writers in this group?

Barev. I was just wondering if there are any writers in this group, both in English and Armenian.

Looking forward to hearing about your work.

I translated and published an Armenian Genocide story.

Several years ago I translated and published the memoirs of someone who had survived the Hamidian Massacres. The story was passed down in my family and mistakenly attributed to my grandmother. The original document was really hard to read. Actually, most Armenians couldn’t even figure out what it was. I taught myself Armenian and then studied the author’s handwriting to be able to translate it. It's a good read, 155 pages. Perfect book if you are busy but still want to read something interesting on the side. It really goes into great detail into what it was like back then.

All proceeds will go towards me repatriating to Armenia. Thanks!

Are there any Armenian self-help books?

Are there any books in Armenian about self care? Something that is written by an Armenian from Armenia.

Were there any major literary feuds between Eastern and Western Armenian writers/poets/ other literary figures based on linguistic, ideological or political differences in late 19th century and early 20th centuries?

I am only aware of the many friendships between Armenian brains of two sides of the nation, but assuming that, there must have been some quarrels regarding styles and/or adopting Russian or Western European customs and vocabulary.
