Hey everyone, I'll be heading up to Northern Arizona at the end of February for some trout fishing. However all my rods are either heavy or setup for bass fishing.
What are some good recommendations, I mostly plain of fishing with powerbait and (possibly)a few panther martins. Budget id like to keep under $200.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thank you,
Hey AZ bass anglers I heard through the grapevine that possibly in the spring the game and fish are going to be restocking Apache with smallmouth bass to revive the glory days of Arizona bass fishing. They are raising money to support the effort to increase the amount of smallmouth we get in the lake. If you feel so inclined please consider donating. Every $20 is another fish in our great system.
Hey just moved to AZ and wondering where the best place to park and fish from the bank with my dog on the lower salt river. Willing to hike if it’s dog friendly and less crowded, just not familiar with the area. Thanks!
Hey folks! My wife and I are going to visit family around Mesa, Chandler, and Queen Creek in a few weeks. While out there I’m desperate to redeem a skunking I received last year on my first attempt at fishing ever. I’ve since become a passionate angler alternating between spinning gear and fly fishing. I’d love any tips or advice yall have to send my way and would be happy to return the favor for anyone coming out towards Denver!
We’re driving in so I’ve got plenty of space for gear and as far as gear goes I have a range of medium-ultralight spinning rods and a 5wt and 7wt fly rod.
A couple army buddies and I are heading to Yuma for a couple of weeks in March. I was curious if there was any good fly fishing in/around Yuma, specifically wet wading or shore fishing. Not sure if we’ll have access to any sort of water craft. Not asking for honey holes, just a general idea of where to go/state parks/etc. Also any suggestions for flies? My boxes are mostly set up for warm water, but I’ve got a few trout flies bouncing around. Any advice would be helpful!
Has anyone put in a kayak on the Gila River near the PIR? If so, where would be the best place to launch?
I just got my boat fixed and am planning to head out to one of the salt river reservoirs or Bartlett lake to go fishing. I am wondering what lake to go to as I am not familiar with all of them and don't usually fish in the winter. I am not picky on species but walleye/crappie would be fun. Information on whatever is biting and how to fish for the season would be very appreciated!
Heading up to silver creek this weekend, any tips on where you can fish the creek and where you cannot? Any spots that are hotter to fish are appreciated but not needed!
Specifically the community lakes around Phoenix. What do you prefer to use?
Wish I included something to show scale, can only see the front of my size 13 Teva’s.
Fishing oak creek tomorrow out of Sedona for the first time, deciding where to go such as West Fork trail or down south around Junipine resort. They stocked some trout last week so hoping to get some fish on. Any recommendations would be awesome!
Does anybody in Arizona know where i can catch some smallmouth bass?
Been to a few canals, both of them had super clear water so the fish spooked pretty easy. Put out corn, boilies, and a few other bottom baits. Got 1 22 pound carp so far, but the last couple times have just been skunks. Fish see the bait the swim away. Any luck or advice out there?
I just got some fishing stuff for Christmas because I wanted to try and get into it. Any places I can go this time of year where I can actually catch something (idrc what type of fish)? I live in mesa just looking for tips and tricks
Hey everyone!
I’m driving through phoenix and have a bunch of time to kill this weekend. If anyone could drop some tips on where I could get my line wet in the area I’d be very grateful.
I’m flying down to dog sit for some friends next week. I’ve been trying to decide whether to pack my rod. Are there any decent trout fishing opportunities this time of the year near Scottsdale? Willing to drive up to a couple of hours if necessary.
I started as a bass angler and now want to catch catfish. I have caught one so far but been skunked alot. I need some places that have more catfish, I do not care at all for size. I would rather catch 4-5 small 1-3 pounders throughout a day of fishing than one hippo. What are some good places to find them? I understand y'all wouldn't want to give out your honey hole spots but general ponds/lakes or canal areas would be nice to know.
I went back home for Christmas and my little brother and I tradition of going out to lake Bartlett was a success, we put 7 fish in the boat each. We had a good laugh at this one because we were sitting there talking and noticed my line on the graph, then we were both mentioning that it looked like a fish as well and not even two seconds after finishing that sentence I set the hook on this little guy.
I've fished east of hyw 87 & saw lots of fish. Pulled a few bass. & hooked a striper couldn't land him. Hopefully somebody fishes those canals. & let me know what's up.
A buddy and I were planning on going fishing this weekend to either Knoll or Bear Canyon. But another friend said the roads to them are closed off at this time of year. Just wondering if anyone knows if Knoll or Bear Canyon would be accessible this weekend. Thanks and Merry Xmas
Slow rolled a crank for an hour, spinner bait, drop shot, nothing. Are bass deep in the cold like they are in the heat?
