What are they hitting on now? Looking to head out this evening
Hey! I've got a cousin coming to town for some fishing and exploring. I love fishing the payson streams other times of the year but haven't tried winter. No stocking. But I'm wondering if there's still decent fishing up there in the creeks before it snows.
Not looking for honey holes, I know where to go. Just wondering if I'm wasting my time this yime of year or not.
Thanks!
We live in south east AZ and I was thinking of going to either roper lake SP, or cluff ponds. This will be his first fishing trip ever and I haven’t been in a while. What are some tips and advice we should know?
I believe we’ll be going after bass and trout
Taking a family friend and some kids fishing in a few days, they are eager to hit the salt and Kiwanis park. No one will be fly fishing. Was curious what’s good to throw in the salt and at the park? Any insight is greatly appreciated!
Hey everyone, I am going on a fishing trip this Sunday with a buddy that is new to freshwater (he is from San Diego so only fishes ocean). Wondering if any spots to the north or east (by showlow) are being closed for the winter with no access?
I've seen people say all kinds of places from Phon D to the bridge but never see anything that confirms it. Does anyone know for a fact where they stock or have personally seen them stock in any of the areas? I usually stay around the bridge because when ever I go any where else I never get anything and I haven't really seen any trout any where else.
Has anyone here had their car robbed at tres rios? I got my permit and was planning on going but I’ve heard of cars getting robbed there. Was fishing a local pond and one of the fishermen there told me he won’t fish there because his buddies car got robbed. Has anyone had similar experiences?
any luck?
Historically speaking where has been the best urban pond/lake for trout fishing in the west valley?
I'm looking for live maggots but I haven't found any store that sells them. I don't think there are any for sell in the most popular stores but maybe you guys know ot somewhere that has them. I don't need many and I know I could grow but don't have the patience for it. Thanks
Anybody have any luck at Paloma park up in Peoria went there about 2 weeks ago but it seemed pretty dead got skunked there wasn’t even any bluegill in the shallows
Looking for any and all advice, tips, etc regarding fishing in AZ. I’ve never been fishing but maybe a few times here and there, and I am excited to try a new hobby. I wanted to know if there was any resources for me to get familiar with fishing in AZ, or any other helpful tips as i start learning. I will buy a license before I go!
Thanks.
Went out to lower salt today. Water level was super low by blue point and upstream. Anyone having luck right now? I know they’ve been stocking. No activity today where I was.
Been up to Bartlett and Canyon lakes last two weekends with no luck on dropshots, spoons, or live bait from shore. Plan was targeting panfish, catfish, and bass but doesn't seem like there's any fish around at all. I'm new to PHX area but in all my fishing experience in the northeast USA panfish and catfish generally bit year round?
any recent report on Canyon Lake? I typically fish from the acacia area. Latest online report I saw from sportsman’s listed trout as a target species. Are there trout in Canyon Lake now?
Also, considering hitting the lower salt, but I just feel like it’s crazy pressured right now.
Anyone fish with frogs around Phoenix? I never throw them because I feel like none of the bass here eat real frogs. Has anyone had any luck with frogs around the urban ponds and canals? How about the lakes or salt river? I read the salt river has southern leopard frogs, has anyone ever seen them?
Hey guys, where do you go during winter to catch trout? I'm hoping there's good spots in southern az. I usually go to woods canyon or willow springs but it's getting to be winter and I'm a bitch.
Just moved out to Goodyear. Any good fishing spots y’all recommend?
I'd love to try some different spots for bass, smallmouth or largemouth. I usually go to Havasu, but where else is good? River, lake, canal... favorite lures? Bank access is key as I don't have a boat. Thanks in advance!
Me and my buddy want to head back up to the Salt River but everytime we go the current is super fast and it messes up our bait. Is there any methods or set ups that would help us catch some trout when the current is fast?
What do you all recommend for catch and keep? I've only released here in az. Do you clean on site? Keep in a cooler? Also, what is good to keep and eat, and what would you avoid?
I feel like avoiding stocked trout but I don't know if that's just me or a good idea... ?
Planning a trip
Is there any lakes or rivers with wild trout. I’m new to river fishing and was wondering if there’s anything with wild trout because all i’ve caught are stockers. I was also wondering if there’s spots where I can catch some trout bigger than the stockers size.
