First the Apple IIe turns on and has a picture, but the keyboard doesn't work. When I insert the Disk II card there is no signal, sound or picture. The red light flickers only and the light on the keyboard is also off... Thanks for the help!
6502 Script: scans slots to find an 80-column card
Hello, I’m looking for an assembly script that scans all slots to identify the presence of an 80-column card on the Apple II+ as well as the IIe or IIc… Thank you in advance!
I'm getting my vintage computer soon, a very crusty iiGS, and it didn't come with a monitor, so I'm looking for a way to use a modern display with it for now. Using an OSSC (using a iiGS RGB to SCART cable to the OSSC?) seems like the best solution, but the A2FPGA does seem tempting, since it would be a lot neater and not require ordering exotic cables. The thing is I've already ordered a BOOTi for disk images, which recommends using slot 7, and the A2FPGA wiki page says you can't use slot 7 when using the A2FPGA without flashing a firmware to disable a feature. Is there any reason to not get the OSSC, apart from having to source a RGB to SCART cable?
I have some vintage software that id like to get off of some Mackintosh 3.5 in floppy disks but need a vintage 1980s/90s mac to do so. My goal is to get the data converted to a .dsk file type in order to use it with a Mac emulator...anyone who is able to help with this or point me to a service that can?
When I was in 3rd grade we had apple II machines and I played a math game that was you flaying a plane and when you got math problems correct you would drop bombs and shoot enemies. Where can I find this?
Cyrene is the ultimate application to Debug, Trace and Analyze any Apple II or Apple IIgs code running on an Emulator.
Get it @ https://www.brutaldeluxe.fr/products/crossdevtools/cyrene/
The iigs had a very good sound chip already. Confused on what the sonic blaster does in addition to the iigs sound chip
Hello so I was looking for an Apple IIC to put in my retro computing collection and stumbled upon one in the site leboncoin (French fb marketplace/ebay) now I’m French living in Madrid and it was at 200€ (great price compared to Spain) but the only issue is that it’s basically the opposite location to where I am: Rouen, Normandy. Should I go there and a bit of a little question that might help, is bringing CRTs on planes allowed? Sorry if my English is bad I usually have great English but I guess I didn’t sleep well..!
After a while working this monitor started to smell weird and image now is as image is showing, any clue where to start?
Hello! I'm super new to Apple 2 and am currently trying to learn Applesoft basic code via. the Applewin emulator. The only issue is that I'm having difficulties using this software in a way that permits to do such. I know this is a niche subject, but would really appreciate any help.
I found this old apple in a storage unit. Was wondering where or if I could sell it.
How to copy files from Apple 2 disk to Windows / Mac? Working with original game software author who is trying to preserve his uncompiled assembly code. Any feedback on what hardware we need to buy and the workflow would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi, what is a good (best) way to clean up the case of Apple-IIe?
Hi, it is possible to buy a missed cover (filter?) on top of the lamp next to the left SHIFT key?
Hi, finally I got my Apple-IIe up and running, with a help of the VGA-card. I tested this BASIC example:
05 REM colors and pixels in low-res mode
10 GR : POKE 49234,0 : REM low-res mode, full screen mode 40x48
20 FOR C = 0 TO 15 : REM loop through all 16 colors
30 COLOR=C
40 FOR Y = C * 3 TO (C * 3 + 2)
50 HLIN 0, 39 at Y
60 NEXT
80 FOR X = 0 TO 15
90 COLOR=X
100 PLOT X * 2 + 4, C*3+1
110 NEXT X
120 NEXT C
130 END
When this program is running on emulator, it shows it correctly:
However on my machine it is like this:
I thought that it could be due to VGA-card, but the same result comes from the native composite video output too.
What could be a reason? Broken RAM?
Folks, are you aware of an existing project, maybe an emulator, that would have implemented an "Imagewriter data to PDF" "printer" ? Something that reads a stream of bytes from an Apple II printer port, and turns it into Postscript or PDF?
Hi, I just replaced all electrolytics caps in Apple-IIe PSU. Do you know does PSU work without load? I mean can I test the output voltage without plugging the PSU in to the motherboard?
Nostalgic noises.... Need MP4 files of their sounds for a project
This noise especially
I have clean working Apple IIgs and Apple Iic - both have a single disk drive, mouse, joystick and monitor adaptors to be able to use with a standard VGA monitor. I was thinking of selling one of them. Which one is moe likely to last longer?
Hey there, I have wings of fury working on Applewin, and it works fine on keyboard, and also the joystick works, kinda. When I takeoff in my plane from the aircraft carrier, I’m not able to go up as fast as I would like. I’m able to climb very slowly. And when I turn I lose altitude. This is not how the game played back in 1987. I’ve tried adjusting the x and Y axis in both negative and positive, and nothing helps. Help! lol.
i'm looking to write programs in notepad++ and compile into a .dsk that i can use on my floppyemu on my actual machine. i can use applewin in wine to test and debug the programs once i have it set up, but how do i actually write it to a floppy image file to use on my actual apple II? thanks in advance
Hotswapping is bad I know, I was reckless and didn't realize I hadn't turned the power off. Did I break anything?
[FIXED] I have an early generation Apple ][ Mouse Interface and it's not recognized by MECC Inspector. Running the demo programs from the manual (which reads mouse position) cause the Apple to reboot.
I've burned a new EPROM, and same behaviour. Any thoughts as what it could be? The 6520, 6805 and PAL are hard to come by. There are 2 74xx LS chips which I could replace, but I'm really afraid that either the 6805 (which as onboard ROM) or the PAL (a PAL16R4) are bad.
Love any ideas.... [see below]
