Designing an app where you can only see potential matches who are going to the same event that you are going.
Basically you first have to book an event ahead of time. Then you can start matching. Watchu guys think?
I kinda got tired from just swiping and just hooking up. And this app ensures that both of you wanna go out before deciding to go down to business.
EDIT: If this gets 10 upvotes I'll make a video of what the app looks like. Including the prototype of the Figma(I already have the Figma, there just some features I wanna hide for now as I'm still not sure if I should include it in the MVP launch)
So I always wanna share my jokes on the internet but the problem is instagram and facebook audience are too wide that it’s hard to target people who wanna hear jokes.
An app that allows comedians to stream. Entrance can be set as ticket based (twitch does not have this feature) or free to join while receiving tips from the audience. What can even be achieved is that the ticket can be resold on the app and the comedians can still take a profit from each resale(web3 inspired)
User Story: As a millennial who is interested in moving to a new city, I want to see a Food score similar to a Walkable score or Weather score, so that I can choose a place that is more likely to have something very important to my lifestyle.

Hello good people, can anyone tell the procedure of naming your app so that no one can sue you or send cease deceased latter to change?
Hey everyone! Excited to share my latest project with you all – an iPhone app designed to supercharge productivity and foster discipline, especially for students like myself - introducing Agendify (https://agendify.net)
I’ve tried countless productivity apps out there, but none quite hit the mark for me. So, I decided to create my own solution. Introducing my upcoming app – a calendar-inspired tool that goes beyond traditional scheduling.
Here’s what sets it apart:
1. Goal-Oriented: You can set personalized goals, whether it’s studying for a set amount of time each day or reading for a specific number of hours per week.
2. Flexible Scheduling: Like the iOS calendar app, you can create appointments and reminders for your goals. But here’s the kicker – if life gets in the way and you miss a session, no worries! You can easily reschedule and plan when to make it up, ensuring you stay on track.
3. Smart Reminders: Get notified before and after each scheduled session, keeping you accountable and motivated.
4. Personalized Study Tips: As if that wasn’t enough, the app will also provide personalized study tips based on your study history, helping you optimize your learning process and maximize your efficiency.
I believe this app can make a real difference and I’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions as I continue to develop it. Let’s make productivity cool again! 😎🚀
Hello everyone,
I’m excited to share my first web app, StreetTreasure, which I’ve developed as part of a class project. I had some experience in Python, so I chose Django for this project. It’s been a week since I started, and I’ve managed to implement the basic functionalities.
The inspiration for StreetTreasure came from observing the waste of perfectly good items, like furniture and electronics, that people often leave on the street before city garbage collections. With some interviews, we learned that selling these items on platforms like FB Marketplace or Craigslist, or even donating them, can be too time-consuming for the money they get. So, I created StreetTreasure to help people easily find usable items in their neighborhoods.
Here’s how it works: Registered users can anonymously post a picture of the item they’re discarding or any item they find on the street. Our app then maps the picture based on the EXIF info with a timestamp. So far, I’ve implemented:
The prototype is currently deployed on a free PythonAnywhere account. If you’re interested in trying it out, you can access it here.
https://crystalflare335.pythonanywhere.com/
Looking ahead, if the app gains traction, we’re considering implementing the following features:
Learning the basics of web app development with Django has been a fun journey! However, our ultimate goal is for this project to serve a meaningful purpose beyond just a class project. Before investing more time, we want to ensure that this app is useful and doesn’t violate any laws (picking up trash could be illegal). We also realized that deploying a web app realistically can be costly ($5-25 per month on Heroku, 3 months limit on Pythonanywhere free version, etc.). While we don’t intend to profit from this project, we would like it to be self-sustainable, possibly through some form of subscription or donation.
We would greatly appreciate any advice, comments, or feedback, especially on the next steps for deployment. Thank you!
Anybody who has tried dating using any of the existing popular apps would have noticed
It would seem that the solution to at least some of these issues would be to have a basic minimum subscription - eg $5 per month. While this may not eliminate all profiles in category #1 and #2 above, most scammers have many profiles, and so the cost adds up. Maybe $10. The issue is finding the balance where it is affordable and attractive to a large audience while putting off the fake profiles.
Items nr 3 and 4 I believe can be solved by listening to users in terms of what they want for filter criteria.
What other issues does existing apps have that do not fall into those categories?
I would use an app that cost $10 per month that solves those issues, but interested to know how others feel about that?
Hey I am extremely interested in the stock market and everything related to investing. I also love software, developing apps and I have been thinking about a software/app idea for at least 2 years that would allow me to combine both my interests. Do you guys have any ideas maybe? Thanks in advance :)
I'm in the early stages of a making a website that offers free privacy services on the internet. Part of the idea is that the site never tracks IP addresses, never asks you for identifiable information, never logs any information, and never uses ads or other 3rd party services that can track you. The website will offer services that help you be private on the internet in general. One idea I had was a temporary email service that allows you to sign up for free trials and whatnot without using your real email. That way you can't be tracked and you won't get spam. This type of service already exists, but I want to make my own version, partly because I don't trust the other services, and partly because it's a fun personal project.
I have some other ideas for services, but I'm looking for more ideas. There are no wrong answers, unless it's illegal in the United States. Another example is a service that converts crypto to XMR (a cryptocurrency that is harder to track than Bitcoin or Ethereum) at cost. There are already services that do this, but they usually charge a fee on top of the network and exchange fees.
Thanks in advance for your ideas!
Hey,
I have been working on a project putting my own money into it and I have come to a point where i'm willing to split the ownership 50/50 with someone.
I have 95% of the designs completed (from a professional design team) and a small subreddit of users.
The product will have a lot of monetization and it has a proven marketplace.

I'm a huge fan of visual timers, as someone with time-blindness. These are examples of visual timers: https://www.online-stopwatch.com/sensory-timers/
You set a time, and it then shows a circle or a pie-chart timer that visually shrinks down as it counts down.
I would love to see a step further of this: being able to tie in my Spotify (or some other way of inserting music) and have it generate and automatic countdown timer that is as long as the song. Ideally this would be a small unobtrusive window I can keep on the side of my monitor (or push back/forward over different windows). The timer would reset as the next song starts up.
When I'm not using visual timers, I will sometimes use songs to help me track the passing of time. If I'm playing a bunch of new songs however, I don't know how long they are unless I keep checking Spotify's play bar (and risk getting distracted doing something else on the app).
I think I would be able to have fun with trying to complete tasks within the timeframe of a song, and being able to see how much time is left would further help me assess what I could try to complete within the given time. (Some songs being one minute, others being seven, etc.)
I feel like something like this was likely made somewhere already, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to find it. Maybe some app-coder would have fun with this?
I am thinking about creating a mobile about and i want to come up this idea about 2000s nostalgia. Gen z is bringing back a lot of trends from 2000s in fashion, music, culture etc. I think creating a mobile app related to that era can be a hit. What do you think about it? Do you have any ideas?
Hey everyone,
I'm a software engineer with a passion for travel and a background in studying abroad, I've always been fascinated by the idea of working remotely while exploring different parts of the world. However, I've noticed that finding remote jobs can be quite challenging, despite the amount of job search platforms out there like Indeed and LinkedIn.
That got me thinking: What if there was a dedicated platform where remote job seekers and travel enthusiasts could come together to share job opportunities, connect with like-minded individuals, and exchange valuable insights and experiences?
So I came up with a project idea: a website that serves as a hub for everything related to remote work and travel. Here are a few functionalities that I think could be interesting:
I'm really excited about this project, but before diving in headfirst, I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Are there any functionalities you think such a platform needs? Is there a market for such a platform u guys think? Any insights or suggestions would be immensely valuable as I start shaping this idea into a reality.
Cheers,
Jeffrey
I get so invested into building apps and websites and I try marketing and get not even a tickle.
I’m looking for the yin to my yang.
Can you market like a pro and have a killer app or website idea? I build it you market it, 50/50 partners.
Imagine an app that list every content type (most of them). By content type you could imagine film, series, manga, tv show and so on... The app will list every content that will be released in the future and you can select which content you want to "follow" if you follow it, the application will send you a notification when a release date is announced. In the menu you can choose to follow the content or just check the release date if it's already announced. When you select a content from the past, you could access to all the release date of the content(from the begging of the show to the last release) AND the app will tell you on which platform you can consult the content(netflix, amazon prime, mangafox,...).
So this is the concept. Here's come exemples : Imagine you wait for the next chapter of berserk but you don't want to check every day if the release date is here. So you open the app, select berserk and follow this content. So each time the release date of the new chapter come the alert will pop in your smartphone. And there will be another alert the d-day that remember you that the chapter will come today.
I will be very happy to see an app like this, if it already exists tell me about it.
App idea: an app where people can search their manager using first, last name and approximate location. The search engine will find the person like peekyou and other apps do. And you can anonymous or openly rate and review a specific manager. Sometimes it's not the company to blame but the specific person. Sometimes the company could be blind sided by that person because they put on an act. However if we had a search engine where anyone from any of the companies that manager had ever worked for could rate them, then companies might be able to protect themselves and staff from verbally abusive bosses or shady management.
Yes we all know some companies don't care but in that case if an employee is having a hard enough time they can use the reviews as an example that it's not just them who's getting treated so badly from that person.... Just an idea
I'm planning to develop an app that simplifies score tracking for sports by using a smartphone and smartwatch combo. The score is displayed on your phone, while your watch controls it. But who could find this convenient score tracking solution helpful?
Potential Users:
Before I start creating the app, I'd like to know who else thinks this smartwatch-controlled score tracking app would be useful for their sport or event. Share your thoughts and let's discuss!
A few ideas someone posted a cool website they'd made that scanned reddit for problems / ideas for new businesses. Anyone remember what the site was?
I'm training to become a Biology and Geology teacher, and I'd like to organize a "Science Market" game with my students. However, the game is typically held in person, and I'd like to adapt it to a virtual version. Unfortunately, I haven't found any suitable platform yet. The closest one I've come across is Padlet, but I have specific criteria I'm looking for:
a) Support for online multiplayer with minimal waiting time.
b) Ability to present a list of questions from which players can choose to integrate with the interactive nature we aim for in our game.
c) Free platforms that require no installation, easy to use, and intuitive.
Can anyone suggest a platform that meets these criteria? Initially, we considered Google Classroom, which allows teachers to post questions and evaluate responses. However, it proved to be less intuitive than necessary, especially when inserting images to accompany multiple-choice questions. On the other hand, we tried using the mobile version of Minecraft to implement the game mechanics; however, using this application for such a purpose proved impractical due to the game's complexity. Additionally, the game limits the number of characters in questions, and we would need to find alternatives to integrate images into the challenges.
An additional difficulty with free applications is the prevalence of advertising, over which we have no control and which may compromise the quality of the activity.
Thank you!!
Not self promo, not asking for a single penny in return.
I am a mid level software engineer at a fortune 10 company and enjoy building tools for myself & others that solve real world problems. Work has been pretty laid back lately, so I'm looking to build something for fun in my free time. Whether you're an early stage startup, business owner, or just someone with an idea, feel free to pitch something that you'd like to have built & we can make it come true together. DMs are open, feel free.
Hello everyone,
textbee.dev is an opensource and free sms-gateway I built for android devices
Here's a list of the main features:
textbee is currently under active development and would appreciate your feedback and any feature requests you may have. Also feel free to contribute on github
Thank you for your interest, support, and feedback.
I've been trying to find an app for compiling serving sizes and nutritional information to calculate a custom nutritional chart for homemade recipes. So far I've been unsuccessful finding one that does what I wish.
Essentially it'd use your phones camera to scan a few US standard nutrition labels and then allow you to specify how much of each ingredient you're adding, ultimately creating a custom diagram for the recipe in question.
Currently I just use an Excel spreadsheet and have it calculate nutritional info based on the ratio of how much I'm using vs the serving size.
I imagine this would be a great app for those who are planning healthier recipes or following a meal prep planner, as sometimes you can't find the same brands as the recipe calls for but still want to check the value of what goes in.
The idea isn't fully fleshed out yet, but the gist would be to have an AI learn about you either through prompts or by connecting to different services you use daily (assuming their APIs disclose anything relevant about you) and when meeting someone new, you could tap your phone against theirs and the app would tell you a random factoid you have in common.
"You both listened to Cowboy Carter exactly one time!"
"You both went to Enamel Pin Fest 2024!"
"You both seem to have an unhealthy obsession with Costco!"
Basically a simple/fun tool to break the ice amongst strangers.
I just have no recollection of using NFC for anything other than payment, hence the question in the title.
Would this be feasible?
Very often, I save a photo to send it to a friend, and then I no longer need it. Or I’ll screenshot a coupon and forget to delete it after it’s used pr expired. I’d like it if, whenever I save an image on my phone, I have the option to have it delete after a certain amount of time. Is this possible on iPhone?
Not sure if this is a good idea or not. An toolbar app that displays a warning when you say a filler word on a zoom call.
Part of me thinks it's genius because it uses the latest A.I. technology. And the other part think that it's just a waste of time.
Here's the link to the site: https://bison-stingray-s3ss.squarespace.com/
let me know what you think! Is this an idea that worth building more of?
