Hi 25M here. I don't know if this is the right place to ask this. So far I was staying in a PG in Chennai. Due to medical condition of a family member at home, I'm looking for a house for rent in Chennai so that I can bring him over to Chennai and take care of him. The problem is we have two dogs back at home and we can't leave them back there. If some one has a vacant house or knows a house where dogs are allowed please let me know. I'm also looking in Nobroker, housing.com etc.. But the houses that suits my requirement are way out of my affordable cost. I'll keep trying from my end. I'd be grateful if any of you could help me with this. Thanks.
So I bought a pom pom maker and some yarn. I bought both for under $5. I will be making pom poms until Christmas in hopes of donating a plethora of cat toys to my local rescue.
Hello! My brother runs a cat rescue near Charlotte, North Carolina. He was wondering if there was a way to buy prescriptions in bulk, or having a surplus of them? At any time, he has anywhere from 20 - 30 cats in his home. Many of them are very sick, but every time he needs a dose of anything, he needs to make a vet appointment. It's not realistic when he has a new bottle baby crashing at 2 am. He doesn't have time to get to the vet for a new dose/prescription. Is there a program out there, or something he can do so that he can have the meds on hand?
The shelter I work at got a message from US Service Animals offering a free online training with dogacademy.org to our adopters. Does anyone know if this is legit? I have not heard of this course before, is it trustworthy? Thanks for any advice!
Hi everyone,
This is Scruffy, a sweet squirrel who’s been visiting my backyard (Michigan) regularly for years. Four days ago (on 24/11), I noticed she had a wound on the side of her face that looks like a puncture injury. Her face is swollen, and I think the swelling has gotten worse since then. I took this picture today (28/11) to show her current condition.
Scruffy will come to the backyard to eat nuts and treats, and she’ll even take a nut from my hand, but she won’t let me pick her up or get too close. I want to help her heal but am unsure what to do.
Is there an antibiotic or any treatment I can safely give her? Two years ago, she had mange, and I treated her successfully with ivermectin by putting it into a walnut. I’m hoping there’s a way to do something similar for her now.
I really care about her and would appreciate any advice or guidance you can offer. Thank you so much!
About 12 years ago I had 3 mid aged cats that I rescued from the streets because In Chicago winter can get extremely cold. One of those cats had kittens and we gave away all accept for 1 to keep her with atleast one of her kitties. As time went I got real bad asthma to the point where I went to the hospital 2 times with close asthma attacks. I ended up getting frustrated and telling my mom we gotta take them to the shelter because u couldn't deal with the asthma anymore. We kept the little kitten and sent the other 3 to the pound. Till this day I have the younger cat and I look at her with so much regret. I wish I can go back in time and take those 3 cats back. I wonder if she hates me and if god will forgive me for what I've done. It's my biggest regret In life. Today we have 12 rescues because I feel it ate at me so much that I had to do somthing about it throughout time. We also feed street cats everyday. Please don't ever do what I did, find them a forever home instead. God I miss those little ones so much, to the point where I'd do anything to rewind the hands of time and have them in my home..
I have a family member working at a shelter in a small town in western New Mexico. The area is in a terrible economic depression and animals are rarely spayed or neutered as most folks are barely, and I mean BARELY, scraping by. I live in another state and have the max number of pets for my apartment on modest means but I desperately want to find ways to help them and these animals. What can we do? Are there any programs they can work with to get some of these friendly critters into better situations? And funding I can help them apply for? They're working 12+ hour days every day. They are severely understaffed and understandably burnt out but these people are continuing to do this at great personal cost out of genuine care and concern for these animals. Thank you in advance for any insight.
So there's this narrow space in between my kitchen window and other building and I can hear a baby monkey crying since the past 15 minutes ig. I don't really know what to do , I'm scared that if I go to help it I'll attack me and the place is like really small is it'll be pretty hard to get the baby out. So please tell me what should I do!!

Needing some advice on what to do with two wild baby rats. Three little rats fell from a roof, unfortunately one didn't make it. A friend found them and asked if I could help. I would say they were about a week old.
I phoned around to vets and wildlife centres but no one really wanted to take them in. So I have been feeding them puppy formula (as advised by a vet) keeping them warm and helping them pee and whatnot.
They are both doing really well and have opened their eyes and are beginning to move around. What would be the best course once they are weaned? Do I release them or should I keep them? I have had rats as pets before and I know how to take care of them but they were of the domestic kind.
I need to add that one of them is missing a foot. I can't really tell if it was due to injury or a birth defect. There is no bleeding and no sign of infection that I can see. He moves around quiet well on his own and doesn't seem to be suffering from it. I don't want to send him out and he can't survive on his own but I also don't won't to keep them if it would be cruel to do so.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Do any of you have any suggestions for most legitimate/effective organizations to donate AND possibly volunteer for freeing captive animals/supporting animal welfare causes? I’m in the US if it helps.
Hello, I am currently in the process of starting a non profit rescue to care for community cats and kittens and could really use your help. I have been doing rescue work within my community using my own funds since I moved to Florida in 2017 and am struggling to continue due to financial reasons. It’s been a dream of mine to be able to help animals in need since I was a little girl and I could really use your help in accomplishing it!
This is my go fund me link for anyone that would like to help!
Or if you’d prefer to use my amazon Wishlist versus donating money the link is posted below https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1RUH04VIHY6CH...
It would mean a lot if you could either donate or share
** DISCLAIMER THE FUNDS DONATED WILL NOT BE USED FOR PERSONAL CARE OR CARE OF MY OWN ANIMALS, I AM HAPPY TO PROVIDE RECEIPTS **
Thank you so much!
Hi all. I am very new here and haven’t been able to sort through very many posts, so I don’t know if this is something that’s commonly asked. I live in South Louisiana. I know the southern US has a serious overpopulation problem in our shelters in general. I do, however, see different shelters or rescues partnered with rescues and fosters in less crowded states and areas. How does one find resources to make these connections? How do y’all find transportation and adopters when they’re so far away? Is there a network? I primarily use Facebook to try and get the word out but I don’t know anyone and I feel so helpless.
MAJOR PROBLEM --- Soo in our neighborhood, a dog is trapped in a house for a month now , the owners of the dog have their contact number turned off ({ Rumers says that the place they have gone to has no network and they will come back soon }) . Their is no way to contact them , so we contacted animal rescue team of our city . The animal rescue team has declined to help as the dog is in the property of owners and they simply can't charge in . Though they have suggested to contact police and report a FIR . And reporting a FIR is big of a deal in our society ( it is a bit conservative society) . Moreover the dog owners are far far away relatives of ours and we are in no position to file a FIR on them . Other people of the society have taken no steps to rescue the dog either . ( They are only big talkers with no action ) I really need your suggestion to help the dog somehow 🙏
SOCIETAL PROBLEM ---- Actually the owners have given keys of the house to their relatives( let's call them X ) and told them to feed the dog until they come back . It's been a month and I don't think the owners are comming back. Many people have actually tried to pressurise X on releasing the dog and letting him go , but X belives that the owners will soon come back and now even have given a excuse that they have lost the keys . The owners of the dog are living on rent , but have their belogings still in the house ( i think this because I have seen their shoes near the door ) . The actual owner of the house are also not taking any action.
DOGS CONDITION --- The dog has weakened a bit and is in ok state for now , he seems to be doing good health wise . Moreover he cries and barks day night seeking for help . He might even get mentally unwell soon . I have been feeding him for the whole month now because X really don't care much about the dog . The dog is in the garden of the house and has a shelter as well .
CONCLUSION --- The dog is in need of SERIOUS help , a legal FIR is not possible for anyone in the society. In fact me contacting animal rescue team is a huge secret only I know . The society is really conservative here and I am not even that much aged to take the whole situation in my own hands . My family is also unable to do anything because of some conditions i can't say here . Still in my heart I really want to help the dog and free him somehow . What should I do ???
UPDATE -- Today on 22 November 2024 the owners of the dog have finally returned . It has been a whole month since the dog was trapped and many people even confronted them for their actions . Anyhow it's finally ended now and I am soo relieved .

We are seeing a HUGE influx of Bulldogs being rehomed & rescued in Australia. It's been building for some time but rescues are now at capacity.
I'm considering starting my own thing to help. I'm a Bulldog owner of 14 years, highly knowledgable and experienced with the breed and I've rescued, fostered and adopted several myself.
I don't have the financial backing to start a rescue from the ground up - but I'm considering maybe doing a rehome service..
Any advice on how to go about this? Any suggestions, tips etc?
I just want to help get these babies into the forever homes they deserve, and I know I have the passion, knowledge and drive to do it.

Hello,
I'm flying to Cancun at the beginning of December from the UK.
I have seen in Dubai that if you are flying from the UK from Dubai, that they will sometimes use this to transport a rescue pet to the UK so that it can be adopted in the UK.
I was wondering if there was anything like this in the Cancun but can't seem to find any information.
