TL;DR i want a tablet that can has USB OTG, can support a 1tb sd card without issue, and can emulate up to PS1 without issue.
some of you may remember me from a couple weeks back asking about my jank chinese tablet i got off amazon. i mean its ok but, i really want to be able to have a tablet that just works. to elaborate, my goal is to have a tablet that i can plug a USB hub into, can play any retro video game i ever wanted to on it, and holds what is essentially an entire library of books, and all my music.
in my search for setting up this magical little gadget that would have made my 15 year old self think it was created by some sort of wizard ive run into a few roadblocks. the main one is that when i try to look up if something actually supports an sd card of such a large size with any kind of competency im met with an endless string of ads and click bait that feed off of tags like "sd card slot". ive tried asking AI but, it lies. if you can actually manage to verify anything it says about specs it doubles back and says basically "lol whoops yeah youre right" even if youre not, but i digress. ive also looked into product reviews which are full of people who just like how shiny or clear the screens are. nothing against them but most product reviews arent helping. ive checked the microsoft forums for their tablets thinking maybe they set the standard for such things but the best i can find in customer support forums for certain devices is vague at best.
i feel like a tablet from 10 years ago would have met all my expectations sans the massive storage. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance and god bless.
Hello!
Finally making the switch from Mac to Windows, and I'm looking for a good calendar app. I've been using the iOS one for ages. My priorities/preferences are:
Open source if possible (I'd prefer to avoid Google, Apple and Microsoft Outlook)
Sleek UI/Design
Something that I can also download on my Samsung phone and sync seamlessly, or that will sync with the native android calendar app
Free/cheap
Thanks
I can't find a solution to this situation, there's a video on YouTube about a woman who got her phone stolen and the thief somehow also know her phone PIN too.
Now, you can change google account password immediately with just the PIN (it doesn't require your Google password), and not just that you can remove 2FA too.
Basically if someone knows you PIN he can steal your phone and effectively lock you out of your account, which is a MASSIVE security risk.
How can you make changing google account password always require the account password, no PIN or trusted device tricks???
I want to be able to plug into the hotels ethernet port for the tv and get wifi from a spare android.
Mostly so i can stream my plex server on the go
I've noticed that the devs for an app I use have released an update about 3 days ago now, and the app hasn't received it. Is there any way to make it so that an individual app checks for updates? Thank you
Howdy!
I returned from another country 24hrs ago and I cant use my banks app since I got back because it thinks the Clock is ahead.
Time zone is correct.
The time and date are correct, Dec 1, 2024
I already tried the following:
- Automatic time setting was ON, I turned it OFF, rebooted the phone and checked
- Tried the opposite, turned it back On, reboot
- Tried setting it to manual time and timezone, reboot
- Checked for phone updates, none
- Reset the phone Network Settings, then reboot
- Lock Screen and AOD --> Roaming Clock was On so I turned OFF, I read about an option on another post that mentioned Region but I dont have that
- turned airplane mode on and off
- mobile network turned off and back on
- searched for other options in google and reddit
- looked into the developer options but IDK about any of that
Is a full phone reset needed at this point? wouldnt it make it harder to get into the app if it keeps doing the same?
Whenever I connect any Bluetooth headphones/speaker to my Samsung galaxy s23 plus I can adjust the volume for the first 5 seconds after that I can't control the volume anymore, I tried resetting the Bluetooth settings but it's still the same, I also have trouble pairing the bluetooth devices with my phone every time I connect them I have to pair again. Any suggestions to fix this? 🥲
I have a really slow crappy phone and I've been thinking about rooting it for a while. I know that ram booster settings usually drain your battery and doesn't help too much, but since my phone doesn't have much ram and struggles with speed, I've been wondering if it could possibly help.
Moto G play 2023- 3gb/32gb storage
i have poco x3 pro and phone keeps on booting to a Blank Whitish screen with blue vertical dotted lines at the center and at the extreme ends of screen. it restarts itself but only this white screen appears. i have tried fastboot and safemode i dont even know what they do but phone turned on for like 2 seconds and turned white again. every time it somehow turns on its shuts down after 2 seconds. it had some problems before like if it was on 30% it would go down to 1% in blink of an eye, so i dont know would it be related to battery? what should i do?i cant take it to any repairman for at least 2 days.

Everytime I open google maps it never knows which direction im facing, it takes a while for it to figure out, or I have to do that figure 8 motion to calibrate it. Is this normal for all phones?
Hi, I'm trying to install Fortnite on my kids Samsung Android Gakaxy Tax A7 Lite tablet. I originally put Parental Controls on and can approve apps and add screen time from my phone. It's really handy trying to get him to eat and do homework. Anyway now he wants Fortnite, it's a 3rd party app (epicgames). When I click to install the download I get "Parent Needed" but it doesn't ask me to sign in with my PIN or send me a notification to the phone. And I can't find a setting in Parental Controls regarding 3rd party apps. And if I turn off Parental Controls altogether, it turns itself back on instantly. I locked this thing up tightly apparently! Anybody have an idea?
Well let's start, I stopped using my cell phone a while ago but the problem is that now it detects the SIM card but without service or only emergency calls, so I have seen videos but they don't work, any advanced or effective solution?
For context I have a Nokia C32, with an SD card installed. The videos show up in Google Photos, but not Files. Files says that I only have 700 something MB of videos, but I have more. Can anyone explain why? Sorry if I sound like an idiot
I have created tar backup of my android phone using adb exec-out "tar -c /storage/emulated/0 2> /dev/null" > sdcard_backup.tar
which best suits my case because I wanted to backup all my device folders with timestamps of the files preserved and this method for backing up works faster than copy-pasting from windows explorer.
Now the tar file is 40GB and my phone's storage is 52GB so I can't first push the tar file to phone and unpack it locally on the phone, So I am looking for a command that dynamically unpacks the tar file from pc to phone like adb exec-out
did by directly streaming files to pc.
So around March 2023 my phone was dropped into a ice cold lake. It was only submerged fro a few seconds but wouldn't turn on afterwards. I put it in rice and tried researching but nothing worked.
I decided to get a new phone instead of taking it to a repair shop due to some circumstances at the time but now I was wondering if there would still be any hope of recovering the photos on it.
The phone doesn't charge or turn on and had no SD card so I'm just wondering if a repair shop could somehow retrieve the photos and videos for me.
Any help would much appreciated!
AFAIK, Android (13) only accepts a hostname for Private DNS - it does not accept an IP.
This means that to reach the preferred DNS, a query must first pass through the carrier's default DNS, thus impairing the possible advantages of a better DNS service.
Why?
Is there a way to go direct?
Hey there! I have a galaxy s23 ultra and at some point (while drinking) i set a permanent background that applies yo all video chat apps. I want it removed! It's been on for over a year and I can't find the option to disable it. I've found an option to change the color or image within android settings but NOT TO DISABLE IT. I consider myself to be very "tech savvy" and I'm about to throw my phone (especially considering the Ohio State performance yesterday).
Does the Joy Tab 2 tablet take android 14?
I consistently clear cache on apps on my phone (it's a weird OCD thing) and recently I noticed that Spotify didn't go to 0... 5.50mb was still there with no way to clear it. I thought it might be an issue with that app and did some searching, to no avail.
I then noticed that each time I clear cache on any app, a small bit remains. Today I cleared Samsung Internet, and now there's 7.73mb still remaining.
It may not be a big issue, but it really bothers me. I've restarted my phone multiple times, there is no change. The total mb remaining is always the same.
Do I have an option here or do I have to reset my phone? I don’t really want to for obvious reasons.
Thanks for your help... please try not to be too techy... I only have basic tech knowledge.
I have one bug, after 20~30 minutes of playing the textures start to become transparent or black, this really interferes with the gameplay. My phone is nokia g21.
I have an app which is from an apk file and i wonder how if possible i could enable this functionality.
Every time I leave my phone on for a bit eventually the screen gets darker and I have to drag an icon of a lock from the middle of my screen to the edge and I'm just wondering if I can make this not happen (s22+)
Hi, I have a Xiaomi phone. I just got a new phone number and I want to know if it's possible to link my past messages to my new phone number or something similar. I have an on-going chat right now with important details so I don't want to lose it when switching SIM cards. If there's any alternative as well, please share. Also it would be great if someone could share a list of things to do after getting a new phone number and transitioning away from the old one.
Hello. A few days ago, my OnePlus 6T phone alerted me of an unknown apple airtag moving with me. Neither my wife or I own any Apple Airtags. I've run a manual scan as well using "unknown tracker alerts" and I've gotten mixed results. Most results show the unknown airtag, but sometimes it doesn't detect anything. My wife has an iPhone 15 pro with all the location settings and tracker notifications on.... And she hasn't received any notifications about an unknown airtag.
Is it possible that my alerts are false positives? The manual scans do show, more consistently, that it finds an air tag when I am in my car even after driving 10mi + away from home.... But my wife's iPhone, still nothing, even after having her in the car for a 26mi round trip away from the home. I also did a hand sweep all around underneath my car.
I've also tried playing the airtag sound through the tracker app, but theres no sound anywhere when it says it's playing (I've also read that malicious people can just remove the speakers from Airtags....). I've contacted Apple, they think it's an Android problem... I contacted OnePlus today and they are investigating.
Anyone have an experience with this? Any insight is appreciated... This is driving me crazy... Thanks.
Hello, I've been using my android (Galaxy S21 5G) as a wifi tether for a while now and up until yesterday it just won't let me do it anymore. I had been using my hotspot with data turned off to share my wifi, but now when I try to do it, it says that I need to turn on "wifi sharing" but there's no option to do that in my phone. Any suggestions?
Is there a way to this? I currently have sensors off from developer options and have my phone rooted, if it can be done with a root app.
I had the home button in the middle, on the right I had the back button, and even further left a screenshot button. Then on the right I had the square app changing button, and then a button to pull down the drag menu
It won't let me post a pic I'm sorry
I want to transfer my mothers Whatsapp data and SMS data from an old iPhone 7+ to a Samsung Note. I don't want to spend money on a USB-C to Lightning cable just to do this one thing and then never use it again. Is there any other way to do it? Can I use my PC to connect the two? I've seen some third party programs but they are more expensive than the cable. I can back Whatsapp up to my pc, can I manually install those chats onto the Samsung somehow?
I need to access some of the older messages and they just disappeared from the conversation. So I'm trying to access this back up but you can't unless you do a factory reset? I also tried the SMS backup and restore up but it says it can't restore Google drive back up. Please if you know something about this can you help me? I have a Google pixel 7. I have basically everything on my phone backed up, I just need to know if it's possible to view it.
