Is there a way to disable a portion of my phone's touchscreen? I got a motorola edge 20 running android 13 and it's been having ghost touches for a few months now.
After enabling pointer location in developers options, I can see that they're happening right at the very bottom of the screen. It's a hardware fault and i can't do anything about it so i would like to disable the very bottom part of the screen. Display cutout doesn't work
Long story short, I collect games and I'm super forgetful so I keep a list on my computer to check what I've got, I'd like to be able to view and edit that list and have the same file on both systems, how do I go about this?
I personally miss the 18:9 aspect ratio, I think it was perfect, not too wide, not too narrow. What is your favorite?
Which one is worth to buy?
About 4~ days ago, some strange stuff happened on my phone when I opened it. I would be on homescreen, and it would open up the Chrome app, and open up sites on Chrome. That was the first day. Now, when I open up my phone, if I was on any app before I turned off my screen, it would be frozen. Can't interact with the app. So I have to press home and go back into to even use said app. I'm using a Moto G Stylus 5G, Android 13, any help is appreciated
I have looked on XDA but I don’t seem to find anything, if someone can tell me if it’s even possible to custom rom it (if not let me know) I would really like to custom rom it because now it runs very slow and can’t even handle the android UI
Our neighborhood pool this year is sending each member a pkpass file to install into our google wallets to use as a pool i.d.
I work with a computer all day so I'd rather not bring my phone to the pool. They're still offering the option for a printed photo i.d. so I may do that.
I've never heard of this type of setup before, and am admittedly paranoid. Are pkpass files ever compromised or hacked? Is this a pretty normal way to do a pool pass? Thank you for any feedback.
I was trying to install lineageos recovery on twrp, but it starts a boot loop and I can't get into fastboot and recovery, the error says cmdline overflow (Redmi 9)
I have a infinix mobile phone which came with XOS Launcher. I hate that launcher because of its adds and bloatware. I debugged my mobile phone using usb and Removed XOS Launcher. Now I am using Nova launcher But the issue is that one of my navigation button (Recent Tasks) is not working. I searched on youtube but can't found any solution.
My default messages app notification used to look like a chat bubble, but now it looks like a SIM card with a briefcase inside it. I believe it has to do with the One UI 6.1 update since my phone just went through that software update. How can I change it back?
What's a good Google voice alternative to use for receiving around 20 text messages a month on iPhone.
Must be: Fairly cheap (less than £3 per month) Work with uk numbers Not be at risk of being deleted without sending messages (or a long period if none are available). Compatible with FIDO2 for 2FA. The number must be Accepted for 2FA with the majority of services.
Thanks!
Hello, I recently bought a Usb-C 45W Charger, I have an S21+. Ill link a video of what happens: Stays on Super Fast for like 2 Seconds then goes back down to normal fast. Idk if its the cable, phone port, or, charger brick. Both the cable and Charger is from Anker
For a few months now I have to constantly manually click wifi off and on to load anything on my phone (Galaxy A53), so if I load up a Youtube video I have to turn wifi off for about 20 seconds, then turn it back on and it will load, have to repeat this process for every video. Also happens when sending images or videos on a messaging app, texting works just fine though. This only happens for my router and it only happens on my phone, strangely, I recently got a new phone and the same thing is happening. The router works perfect on every device and my phone works on every other connection just fine, I've tried changing IPs and messing with router settings but can't get anything to work. Any suggestions?
Noting that they both have the same price in my country at the moment which is around 850 €
Since yesterday, my Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 with Android 13 has started showing a permanent small green dot at the top right corner of the screen. It even stays while playing games, watching videos, etc. When I click what's causing the green dot, it's just Google and Life360 accessing my Location (I implicitly gave both the right to Always get my location, and I need Life360 on in case my phone is stolen to track it).
Any way to remove this dot that has never existed since I purchased this phone? My Pixel 6 does not even show this dot. Thanks!
So a couple of weeks ago I was going through some advertised mobile games that seemed fun and it feels like one of them was potentially malicious. My screen stutters and copies random parts of the screen over itself, this seems to only happen on specific sites or apps, to the point that at first I thought it was a specific app problem.
I've tried factory resetting but the problem came back within a day and I can't go through all that again each time. I have a doogee s90 so it's not a standard phone and I'm not sure if this is a phone issue or a virus, if so would a repair store be able to fix this?
I've included a link to a video of it happening, the last few seconds are the most clear as a comment on quora pasts over the screen multiple times. I have to say this recording is fairly tame compared to some other days, but recording the screen seems to calm it down for some reason.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello everyone,
Looking for a widget app that I can directly type into from my main screen. Like if the widget shows me a single note like Google Keep does I just directly click it and the keyboard should appear for me to type. Kind of like the search in your app screen where you click and a keyboard appears immediately for you to type vs taking you into the app to type.
TIA
I sent a text to someone and I noticed that the picture that I had was changed to another picture of this person but I do not have that picture anywhere in my photo. When I go to the person's contact details I see the picture that was replaced as well as the new picture but No history of how that new picture got there. Can anyone advise.
Greetings,
I hope this is not the wrong place to ask about something like this. I just wanted to see what the community thinks.
One of the big points Qualcomm made when announcing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC was how capable it is at local generative AI tasks, including LLMs and high-quality text to speech, etc.
Now that many of us have these devices (I'm using SM-S928W), has anyone seen these capabilities in action? Samsung has its Galaxy AI functionality, but with the exception of translating, almost everything is done online rather than on the device. Samsung does not offer LLM generative AI or text to speech, even in the cloud.
It seems more and more like Qualcomm advertises the capabilities of the SoC but only if a third party who has licensed from Qualcomm (i.e., highly unlikely an indie app developer or small-scale software house) develops for this. Thus, it is unlikely we will see on-device generative AI regardless of hardware capabilities, as it would be bad business to allow end users to utilize such functions without relying on a cloud-based subscription.
Any thoughts?
So can anyone help please.
I was using AirDroid to access and Android tablet at home from my mobile when I was away.
This doesn't seem to work anymore due the latest android 14 update prompting you to permit a screen share from the target device, each time. There's no way to give a blanket access permission, without root presumably.
I emailed AirDroid and they weren't very helpful and didn't really seem to understand despite me being very descriptive and giving them screenshots.
Is there a good alternative to this app that will allow me to remotely access the tablet from my phone?
I have both a note 9 u1 and note 10 u1 and was wondering if attempting to intentionally trip the knox warranty bit could allow me to root either device potentially. I don't care about losing features by tripping the warranty bit because I want to try and install Lineage OS
Hi,
I have Rooted POCO F4 GT. This phone comes with two gaming triggers. Users can customize them in Settings, but more importantly, in Game Turbo it's possible to map triggers to touch the screen on specific location. To access this feature, I need to open Sidebar and right next to it there's Game Turbo menu.
But here's the thing. The option to map triggers appears only in horizontal (landscape) mode. If the game supports only vertical (portrait) mode, there's no way to map triggers.
The sidebar changes position depending on the orientation, and as you can see on screenshots, when I rotate the phone, Pop-up triggers mapping in Game Turbo shows and disappears respectively.
Most games I play, supports only vertical mode, so it's kinda like those triggers are a little bit useless to me.
I know how to map them in Macrodroid, but it's much easier to do it in this Game Turbo sidebar.
So here's my question. Is there any way to "trick" Sidebar so that it would think the app is in ladscape mode? Or like force the orientation of this overlay. I'm not afraid of doing a little bit more advanced stuff, like tinkering in adb.
Thanks for any advice!

When and what's happening with modding on the Meta Quest. Whys is modding not working/ scoped storage broken? And when is a patch coming? I heard that it's metas fault or androids fault so I've asked on both. When is a fix coming? Thanks.
In my Google Pixel, I have passwords for various sites in my Google Password Manager, but I also have an entry called Accounts. Under Accounts there's are a handful of entries including one for Reddit. But I also have an entry under the password manager for Reddit.
Can someone explain to me the difference between passwords and accounts?
