I ran out of data on main sim so I bought eSim on Holafly but using data on that sim caused my android auto to break and keep showing
"confirmation may be necessary on your mobile device. for your safety do not use your mobile device while driving"
I tried disabling or deleting android auto back then and clearing out data and cache but it was launching android auto and then crashing and etc
Now I'm back to my regular sim and after clearing out cache it works again
Question: how could a sim card data break android auto? what could I possibly do? I tried vpn as well but didn't work
After getting a car with AA support in 2021, I was excited to finally use the phone mirroring service that so many love. And after 3 years of nearly daily usage, I find myself only using it for navigation, music, and responding to the occasional text message.
I know AA can technically do more, but what more do I need it to do while I'm driving?
Anytime I make a call, receive a call, receive a text, or notification my screen wakes and stays on. It’s especially annoying for phone calls because the buttons can inadvertently be triggered. It slows the charging and makes the phone hotter. I did not find any wake screen settings in my AA settings. Please advise?
So, I am running the latest AA beta on a Pixel 7 running the latest Android 15 QPR and the most recent Google app beta.
All that said, has anyone noticed a marked reduction in the questions that Google Assistant will answer? I wondered if this is related to my phone running Gemini and AA running Assistant. I used to be able to ask it any random question, and would get a response 95% of the time, however, now it doesn't understand most questions. Is it just me?
Hello All, I am running into an issue where I get interference that disconnects my wireless connection multiple times per drive. I've noticed that if I connect with the USB cable it never crashes.
The problem is, AA chooses Wifi first even when plugged in. I have to wait for the wifi to crash, then plug it in to use wired AA
Aside from deleting the Wifi connection from my phone's wifi tab, is there somewhere in the AA settings where I can tell it to use the wire, when connected?
For some time now I have been experiencing a rather complicated problem with my Samsung Galaxy S22+ smartphone. When using Android Auto in my Toyota Aygo 2019, the smartphone not only does not charge, but loses battery at a surprising rate. After disconnecting from the car, the smartphone continues to lose battery faster than usual. The problem disappears only after connecting to a standard charging station and fully charging the battery. I am attaching two consumption charts here, the first is an ordinary day and the second is one in which I drove the car several times. The problem appeared spontaneously, I didn't change the settings, cable or car. Previously, the car charged the phone normally, quite slowly, but it did charge. The problem occurs regardless of the cable and in other cars, it seems to be related to the phone. I've reseted the device and updated the software
Hello, I have a Honda HRV with wireless android auto. I have had the car for a little under a month, and have been using wireless AA every day with no issue. Today when I was driving to work, I stopped and got breakfast, and left the car, when I came back and turned the car back on, I no longer had access to my navigation on my car display. Bluetooth audio and calling still works, but android auto itself is not. I have tried forgetting the device on my phone and restarting both my car and phone to no success. When the phone connects with bluetooth I get a notification "android auto is available" but nothing pops up on my vehicle screen. Does anyone have any other potential fixes aside from taking the vehicle into the dealer?
Hey strange issue, my AA lowers my music for about 2-3 seconds every 2-3 minutes, it's like when it gets a notification and lowers which is normal however I am 1000000% not getting notifications. I have google maps, waze, spotify and even the android software notifications disabled. My phone is permanently on do not disturb and I've even turned off notifications and all related audio settings in my car and the issue still persists and it's stumped me for 3 months now.
It even happens with no route set on maps just when AA is running in general, it's not connected to the cars safety notifications either I've tested that and they don't lower with those notifications. It's also consistently 2-3 minutes. I'm currently working on testing if it does this with a samsung and an apple phone too but wont have access to those for a while just to rule out it's not my phone.
Any help or advice much appreciated I've tried every fix I could find online
Has anyone found a way to use fermata Auto on Android Auto 14 yet? Can you download it or something similar on an iPhone 16?
Why do I have to uninstall and reinstall Android Auto on my phone in order to receive texts on the cars head unit? Such a pain in the ass. I had no issues when I was using Verizon's text app but I've been forced to find another app, so I'm using Google, which sucks by the way.
Has anyone in this reddit had issues with the Motorola MA1? Mine worked flawlessly for about 4 months then just up and died. If I get the unit ice cold it'll work properly for about 5 minutes, but once it warms up the unit goes back to error messages on the car(s) OEM screens and not connecting to my phone. Part of me wonders if it overheated sitting in the car, but I'm trying to be optimistic that Motorola built it well enough to sit in a turned off car without it dying 😂
I have a Kenwood DMX8021DAB and it suffers Geographical AAWireless disconnetions.
I have investigated and have come to the conclusion that it's an issue with the Kenwood. I have tried 3 different mobile phones, all suffer they issue - but in wifes car they all work seamlessly. I use a 5GHz dongle in wifes car as that only had wired AA.
Kenwood Customer Service have gone quiet after stating that this model doesn't have any issues.
The Kenwood uses both 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz WiFi. If I attempt to use USB, the Kenwood automatically reverts back to Wireless (If WiFi and Bluetooth turned off on phone the Kenwood turns Bluetooth back on!) If I use the dongle from wifes car my phone connects to that, then the Kenwood connects and the WiFi link is swapped to the Kenwood.
Is there a way to force the Kenwood to use 5GHz only?
Is there a way to force the kenwood to us USB only (so I can use a dongle)?
I'm in Ireland and I think that there is interferance on 2.4GHz - maybe traffic systems and tolls use 2.4Ghz and this creates interferance issues?
I own a 2016 Seat Leon so I must connect my phone (Galaxy S23) via USB to use AA. The issue is slow charging, it literally doesn't charge the phone as the battery usage equals it. But this happens only when using AA, the cable is good, I tested it with other devices and works great, the USB connector in the car is also good. It also works good with a low quality cable that has no file transfer, so the AA is not available. The issue happens only when I use AA.
As the title suggests, I'm looking for a wireless Android auto adapter for Accord 2016. It has built in Android Auto but only through wired connection. I took a chance with MINIX CP86-AA from Amazon, but it didn't seem to work no matter what I try.
Any recommendations?
Hi, is there a way, I can be connected to Wi-Fi hotspot from another phone while using Android Auto? I work in Food Delivery and I would like to have one phone in the car all the time and take one with me when I'm picking up food from restaurants. The problem is when i connect my second phone to the Android Auto it automatically creates a Wi-Fi which my phone is connected to. I don't have cellular in this phone so resulting me in having Android Auto without Internet connection. Wired AA is not possibility, because I am using AA screen from China (A better one) yet it cannot be connected by wire. Any solutions other than getting another SIM with cellular? Thanks
On my Hyundai Accent 2019, android auto has stopped showing the left side arrows used to scroll. I can manually scroll with my finger like on a phone but the arrows seemed easier, at least while driving. Anyone else have this problem? They're not showing in any apps or even in the app section.
Losing my mind here,
In a rental car 2023 Nissan Rogue and I cannot get it to connect to the android auto via physical wire
So far I have;
Uninstalled all updates in Android auto Deleted all previous cars Deleted storage and cache Tried 3 different cables (one is a MacBook cable) Restarted phone Factory reset head unit Turned on developer settings Turned on USB debugging Turned off USB debugging Changed the default USB connection Turned off developer settings Disabled esim tried with real sim Disabled real sim, tried with esim Bought new cable Bought Motorola dongle
The phone is recognized by the unit, but bit immediately the connection is lost as soon as I say yes to pop up
The device is saved to the head unit bit different show an active connection
The phone died of is connected to the car and I get the android auto notification but I'm the android auto settings it doesn't show a saved car
This is driving me insane and I have the car for another two weeks and generally rely on auto to get around.
Any ideas??
I have a new car with Phoenix X6 android radio and use it with a Samsung S21 Ultra phone.
Everything works like a charm except of Zlink (v 4.0.15). When I start the app it is stuck on the "waiting" screen most of the time. Other apps like Carbitlink Screen Mirror work without problems. Just Zlink is giving me issues. It works sometimes though.
I tried:
- A second USB cable
-Resetting all bluetooth and wireless connections, also deleting and reconnecting
- Updating Zlink app via hotspot (failed, maybe no update available?)
- Updating manually with a new APK which resulted in channel error, so I needed to downgrade Zlink again.
- Resetting Android Auto and reinstalling Carbit Link
- Restart of smartphone and the Phoenix X6 unit
Any ideas what I could try next?
Hello Reddit peeps!
Haven't done a Reddit post in a while, so I'll try to be through with all infos needed. I just bought a new phone (from Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G to Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G), current Android version 14 (ColorOS 14.1 | Android 14).
I didn't have any kind of issues with the other phone while using AA, always connected via USB to my car, a Citroen C3 Aircross 2017 (I think it's 2019... it's not a super new model, I'm certain of that. Used car if need of more info). Once I plugged my new phone in the car... Welp, doesn't work but in a rather peculiar way: Google Maps opens, and then freezes. If I tap on the settings icon on the car screen, CHANGE the car menu (like from Phone to Radio) and then go back to Phone where Google Maps is open, then the screen freezes to the Google Maps Settings screen!
When I drive around, everything stays frozen but the voice indications work... Any suggestions on what to do? Kinda bummed rn ^^"
This issue happens since the update to Android 15, on Android 14, everything worked fine. Also the Galaxy S24+ (which is still an A14, though) of my wife works completely fine, I also tried different cables, so neither the car nor the cables are the issues here.
The issue:
I tried connecting the phone many many times to my car, but it worked perhaps in 20% of the time. Most of the time, when I plug in my phone to my car and press the Android Auto icon on the screen of my car, the phone shows the message "Android Auto is connected", but the screen of my car stays black. After a few seconds, the phone freezes completey and then, after a minute, the phone soft reboots. But the behaviour is very inconsistent. For example: the connection never works when there is no internet. Sometimes, the USB connection shows "PTP" or "MIDI", although I set the USB standard connection either to charging only or to data transfer/AA. Additionally, the phone seems to freeze also, when Maps shows a notification saying "navigation is about to start". In all these cases, the phone freezes for 100%. It's very frustrating with this still brand new phone.
Anyone else having a similar problem or any solution? I've even rest the phone but still, no solution.
Symptom in Android Head Unit:
EDIT: addresses for issue when there's no 4g/5g from the head unit, AA is relying fully on phone for internet
After lots of troubleshooting, here's the combo findings on why this occurs:
A. Wi-Fi configuration - bad settings that causes the connection to drop or become unstable
B. Bugged Android Auto - stores a bad profile state of Wi-Fi configuration; even when you change your settings on phone after, it'll always load the initial bad profile!!
Steps for Solution:
EDIT: for those still facing problems, check for rogue applications that manipulates or impacts Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth. Priority on Wi-Fi. 2.4Ghz can have a lot of disturbance, try to ensure 5Ghz connection.
Wi-Fi Configurations To Use:
EDIT: final, formatting
Android auto in its default settings on the onePlus 9 would turn up "unrecognized device " . After mucking around on the OnePlus community the fix that worked, was to change to a data cable, and settings on USB Configuration set as default which when connected to car would be changed to "data transfer/android auto" works like a charm thus far! only hassle is when the phone is plugged on to car runs into the "extra " USB prompt .
Hi, I pass the french/swiss border daily for work and noticed that my wireless AA crashes everytime I pass the border. Same thing seems to happen on french highway when passing a toll. Roaming is on, it does not happen as the same time I connect to a new mobile operator, there does seem to be any other event other than passing the border... and yet AA crashes like clockwork, straight on the border line (within 1-200 meters). Sometimes it auto-restarts, sometimes I have to stop/restart Bluetooth for it to work again. Running on a S22+ updated with latest official firmware.
Is there anybody else with this issue?
Thanks!
I have a 2023 Ford F150 and about a month ago I started to have problems using WhatsApp with the sync android auto system. When I get a message and have the truck read it to me it will ask if I want to reply. Before I can respond it says it couldn't hear my response and asks if I want to reply and the cycle starts all over again. I have to time it to hit the cancel button just right to get it to stop. Not sure if this is AA or WhatsApp, just want to figure out how to get back to normal. Anyone else having this issue and did you find a solution?
Thanks in advance
Sold my old phone, added a new Pixel9, and how when I attempt to call, Android Auto makes me pick between 2 numbers for each contact. The numbers are duplicates. From my phone, each contact only has 1 number. In the car each contact has duplicate phone numbers. Help me Obi-wan!
Already tried removing all old phones but no luck.
First, sorry for grammar mistakes, english is not my native language, trying my best.
After a lot of frustration and time consuming investigation, I think I found a solution for the fairly common problem of AA getting disconnected when you lost the mobile signal.
First you have to activate the developers settings, it varies a bit for phone to phone, just look up how to do it on yours.
Inside those options, look for the network section, and there, Wifi Scan Throlling, and turn it off.
In my case, it was like magic, not a single disconnection since that.
There was no update between using it with that option on and off, and also it solved mid using the phone, not restart, not even connect-disconnect AA, just turn off, and not a issue since then.
I found this because some people in one of the post commented that the disconnection could be because the android hijack the wifi when the signal is lost, forcing the wifi direct connection to fail.
my current setup is a very old android (not auto) unit i bought a long while back. https://imgur.com/saxv5pr it runs android 4.1 (not 4.4). i can use android auto on it though through the headunit reloaded app. it requires my phone to have hotspot (which it does right now)
i'm looking to change phone plans to a non-hotspot plan and also looking to upgrade my headunit with the price savings. just curious how the aliexpress units connect to the phone. example of aliexpress unit https://imgur.com/povxlIU
can these just use my phone's data and run android auto wirelessly without me needing a data hotspot plan?
sorry if any of it is repetitive or not clear. i'm terrible at having concise thoughts.
22' Mazda MX5, Samsung s22Ultra. About 3 days ago my dongle stopped working. I've paired, unpaired, rebooted etc repeatedly since, and my car states "usb device not compatible". It's worked fine for 2 years! Any advice on what i might be missing, including what to purchase now would be appreciated!
So let's say I received a text message, and I said, "Hey Google, read (text) message," it will give me repeat a list of all the notifications/messages in my notifications bar. It doesn't matter if AA already read those notifications/messages, or whether or not I replied to the messages. Every time I get a new message, the list of messages that will be reread will increase until I go into my phone and clear my notification bar.
Is there any way to make it so that Android Auto only reads the most notifications/messages it did not read prior, or perhaps that it automatically clears the notification bar once I ask it to read them for me?
