New

I'm new to this community.

I'm also new to Anarchy in general. I've heard the term thrown around as a joke and my curiosity got the best of me finally.

I'm looking for more information, aside from Wikipedia, about Anarchy. Books, websites, the works. I really want to learn more. I have a few questions as well.

What is Anarchy to you?

What rules (or more specifically lack of) do you follow?

Do you see Anarchy as a viable, large scale system?

Or

Do you see Anarchy as something more individual?

Would it be fair to say that anarchism is to socialism what liberals are to conservatives?

Not in any ideological similarities, but in how these opposing viewpoints are in relation to one another? Like a socialist could be considered much closer to an anarchist than an anarchist to a liberal or conservative. While the beliefs of liberals and conservatives are vastly different, I think that it shows how the political landscape of a “successful” socialist project. It would be an irrelevant comparison at the time, but I think it can be a good bridge between opposing leftist ideologies in the same way that neoliberals team up against lefties

Small Steps

Hello! The time is now my friends.

This is a call to action. I'm asking everyone to go out and find big patches of grass. Those long stretches between/around the highways. The area between the sidewalk and the street. Those huuuuuge lawns behind retail box stores.

Find all these big patches of grass doing nothing but getting mowed. And plant some vegetables. Plant some potatoes, squash, beets, tomatoes, take this dead land that's been squandered away and "sold" and "bought," and bring it back to life.

If "this land was made for you and me," let's give it some love so it can sustain us as it's meant to. This is the first step to change. We must break the chains that make us dependent on the government, and the only way to do that is through community. Let's start by making a nation-wide community garden. I'm gonna start planting. I hope others will follow suit.

It's time to stop giving them our tax dollars to fund an ethnic cleanse. Let's prepare by making sure they can't starve us out like their little brother out east is doing.

Happy gardening 🌿🍅🌽

People of Earth (P.O.E.) Project

I am reaching out to find and free individuals from the collective for far to long have the rights and freedoms of humans been trodded upon. We are starting the P.O.E. project our goal is to break away from the mainstream fabric they call our "reality" we want to be free and united as we are meant to be. Peace on Earth for all mankind no matter your race, religion, ideology, beliefs, background, orientation, or your past we want to felree not only ourselves but everyone who asks for it or reaches out. We are just but a few as of today but day by day our numbers grow, albeit not much but the goal is not achievable within a day, week, month, or year maybe decades but it will be a lifelong goal for those of us who are apart of it already. Simply correspondence is all we can give as of this moment but the goal is something much bigger than just ourself. Peace

accounting proves workers dont own the means of production

the accounting equation is Owner's equity = Assets - Liabilities

Liabilities are "A liability is something a person or company owes, usually a sum of money*. Liabilities are settled over time through the transfer of economic benefits including money, goods, or services. "*

so, first, a worker performs a Labour Hour and the company incurs a payroll liability equal to the negotiated price of that Labour Hour.

An expense is the cost of operations that a company incurs to generate revenue.

labour hours are recorded as a COGS (Cost Of Goods Sold) this is the same account as an electric bill, or water bill or rent.

so the worker sells their Labour Hour for x-dollars and that cost becomes part of the COGS

but so does electricity or water or any other input that is a part if COGS. a worker demanding to own part of the company because they swept the floor is just as ridiculous as a janitorial company demanding they own a company because they swept the floor. making a claim to profits after you have sold your labour hour is equivalent to selling the same good, twice. you already got paid, you dont get equity after you get paid.

.

a worker has no more right to the equity after they sell their Labour Hour than any other provider or services. a provider of "Labour Hours" has no more right to profit than any other vendor.

wokers do not have a right to the means of production.

Will Donald Trump and his family emigrate to Russia?

At the time of the French Revolution, that great "enlightened despot", Catherine the Great, of Russia, provided a haven and refuge to those Nobles who had been forced to emigrate from France. These French Nobles were threatened with prison, torture and death, for allegedly raping and pillaging the people and the nation of France. But, of course, one person's "rape", is another person's simple seduction, and one person's theft and pillage, is another person's constructive commercial exploitation. So, Catherine the Great took a broad view, and permitted these displaced, formerly wealthy Nobles, to be relocated to her Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, so long as they formally renounced the French Revolution, and all its violence and radicalism.

Is history repeating itself, once again? Is not former American President, Donald Trump, and likely his entire family, being threatened with prison, torture and death, for allegedly raping and pillaging the people of the United States? Certainly, Donald Trump is being threatened with imprisonment, for financial fraud and rape, as current court proceedings clearly demonstrate. And, if he is imprisoned, he'll require, as a former President of the U.S., that his secret service agents accompany him, in his cell. Can anyone truly imagine what it would be like to be a secret service agent guarding Donald Trump indefinitely in his prison cell in New York State, twenty-four hours a day? Surely, it's inevitable that Mr. Trump would "hang himself while we slept." Or, perhaps, Mr. Trump would bash his brains in against the wall of the prison cell, "before we could stop him." And, surely, a similar fate is likely to be in store for Ivanka, Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner and all the rest, as the wild, Revolutionary mobs of Americans rush to tear them limb from limb. I suspect we might, eventually, be able to add Elon Musk to that list, too.

In the light of these self-evident facts, can we not see that the entire Trump family is very likely indeed, to attempt to emigrate to Russia, in the very near future? Would not enlightened despot Vladimir Putin welcome them to the Winter Palace, in St. Petersburg, very much as Catherine the Great welcomed their French antecedents centuries ago? All they'd have to do is formerly and publicly condemn American violence in Ukraine, and they'd be set for life in Russia. Indeed, given the tit for tat nature of American politics, it seems very likely indeed, that we will see many American Presidents, both Democrats and Republicans, forced to flee the U.S. in the face of State charges against them, in future. Perhaps an entire wing of the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg could be set aside as a refuge for American Presidents driven from their native land in the future, and finding refuge in Imperial Russia.

And, one can see the smiling Sainted, Catherine the Great, of Russia, joyfully welcoming them from on high, in Heaven, surrounded by choruses of singing angels, and flanked by God, and Jesus Christ himself!

Capitalism vs free market

there is alot of discourse about how trade and money function in an anarchist society. I would like to make a distinction - free market economics, including wage employment, is not capitalism.

Currently, the economic systems in place revolve around a central bank that coordinates with government and private entities to ensure ROI and exert control of people via control of the money supply. This is capitalism; rule through economics.

However to equate a central bank system with the free association of open trade is to throw the baby out with the bath water. Without a central bank, monopolies are impossible and most of the exploitation that occurs, wouldn't be possible.

To move forward, anarchists need to embrace free association and decentralized economic activity.

I guess I'm a libertarian anarchist

It recently occurred to me that there are places in the world you can't go to, and it upset me unreasonably. I know, there's a line. People's homes, there is privacy that exists which I wouldn't intrude. But within reason in the US, you can be within a square mile of any location (some exceptions). I'm talking about cities, countries, thousands of acres walled off from everyone else because of political/religious/whatever reasons.

This is all one planet, occupied by the same species. There is no god walking among us, it baffles me that any one person or group can just decide where we aren't allowed to go in the world. If I want to go somewhere, I should be able to go there! To be born poor is out of your control, however you can find ways to become rich. Things in this world, with the right mindset/motivation are attainable. Yet being in a certain stretch of land can get you arrested or killed... crazy. Anyways, this got me labeled as an anarchist so I wanted to hear some takes on this thought?
