Wondering if anyone out there happens to know of a decent source to find Steelcase 556 or 223? I have a number of 556 AK platform rifles that like to run on it, and haven't been able to find it like I used to. Thanks in advance
Typically I wouldn’t be as concerned about this but I’ve got a newborn and I’m assuming this is lead… loaded one mag from a new box of Federal American Eagle 9mm and my hands were coated in this (gun powder? Grease?) I’ve dealt with a ton of the same ammo but never seen this. It washed off fine but worried about exposure to my baby. Anyone seen this before?
Guys, forgive me for putting this up here, and mods, fell free to pull it down.
I just wanted to extend my appreciation to this sub, its leaders, and the people.
I love it for four big reasons:
I read great questions, often things which have never cross my mind, and learn something new from them.
The majority of people on here are cool towards each other. You guys share your knowledge without being condescending.
Little to no politics. Other subs are flooded with politics and hate for those with whom they disagree.
We all share the same passion, and even looking at old ammo is fun to discuss.
Thank you all!
Anybody use Grizzly or PMC 9mm JHP ? I rarely see them listed. Gonna pick up a little HST but also bulk Magtech, S&B, or PMC / Grizzly
Grizzly I see in 10mm from time to time but not 9mm
Thank you
This is an old article, from 2011. (The prices mentioned are ridiculous-low.) The marketing of ammo through its different paths are sometimes good, othertimes bad. The ammo you use for SAFETY sake should have a verified source. Enjoy and be safe!

I ran across this while researching some forgotten info (it's the box pictured in the title of the article above and I do have a partial box of this.) on a British bit of mil-surp 100gr 9mm L7A1High Pressure (so high that they regarded it unsafe for sub-machine gun use). It was a contract that Hirtenburger had filled. So the specific ammunition is covered in the following article-
I'd say that's a pretty solid purchase
I just got a case of Troy 12 gauge slugs. It seems like most of the rounds are off-center or something. is this normal?
Got the ammo like five years ago. Boxes unopened.
How often do you cycle thru your defense ammo? Mainly pistol or revolver? In other words do you shoot it when you go to the range?
I have since learned to cycle my self defense rounds out in the mag each time I come home. That brass one is just embarrassing...I don't know how it got that bad.
Talking about case width and length. My psa microdagger Dosnt run them at all. But when trying to clear the chamber with underwood ammo, it locks the chamber up and makes it hard to clear the gun.
Newbie here, I’m trying to stock up on home defense ammo for my Remington870, what’s a good round that’s that won’t break the bank
Was washing my clothes for gun season tomorrow and opened the dryer to see 3 rounds laying there that I somehow missed. This ammo went through the wash and then the dryer. Is it safe or should I not use it?
I recently inherited my Grandad’s .22 rifle and two pistols. The rounds were stored in a cool dry place for 40-50 years, perhaps longer. The rounds look really good except for a bit of powdery residue. Good to go?
Is the best deal around 18 for 50 rounds
