PPC Question: which option to try?

Hello everyone,

I have a sponsored products auto close-match campaign running on a product, and hitting the daily budget very quickly. This is the only campaign that has produced decent results for this particular product. What is the best way to scale it without disrupting its current success: option A or B, or something else?

Option A:

Increase the budget of the campaign by 10%-20% every few days, and observe the outcome. If all is good, increase again by another 10-20%, and repeat until something goes wrong, and if something goes wrong then undo the last increase to try to stabilize.

Option B:

1 - do not touch the existing campaign.

2 - create a new campaign with exactly the same parameters as the existing campaign, but with higher budget. Monitor closely.

3a - If the new campaign does well, then get rid of the old, and keep the new.

3b - If the new campaign does not do well, then come back here and ask for more advice :)

Many thanks in advance for any input / advice.

Honest returner. Still feels scammy.

So I get a return request for a high end bath faucet and reason is "bought by mistake," fine they don't like it nbd. In note they admit "bought 2 the other one arrived quicker." With refund at scan I'm out return and original shipping. Basically Amazon allowed a $28 loss to me for this joker.

Amazon UK and Barclays bank outage

Hi, so news in the UK is that Barclays bank is in to its 3rd day of outages and I'm really wondering if there is some connection between this and sudden drop in sales since Friday 31 Jan 2025.

I've been selling an Amazon with FBA for 6 months now and sell an average of 10 units of my product per day, it's suddenly dropped to zero since Friday.

Amazon says nothing is wrong, I have plenty inventory in stock and no actions against my account, every else looks normal, so this really has me questioning if there is a link.

Anyone else experienced a sudden drop in sales since Friday?

Update: 2 Feb 25 14:20 gmt. Got my first sale in days just over and hour ago, BBC news made an update just over an hour ago that Barclays tech issues have been resolved.

So... Coincidence?

Buyer purchased a gift over 2 month ago, tracking shows delivered…

A buyer reached out to me today who purchased an item in November 2024 to be delivered as a gift. They reached out to me today to tell me that the recipient doesn’t recall receiving it. Tracking does show delivered. Do I have to honor this refund/replacement request? At what point does this get ridiculous….

Whats a rough kind of price range of cost to sell soft drinks on Amazon UK from Spain?

Hi, I'm looking at the idea of selling a few soft drinks on Amazon UK and I would be able to package and take them to a post office or something to send them from Spain, I'm curious what kind of costs are involved from Amazon and from shipping based on the weight and distance with it potentially being 330ml cans and/or 1.5litre bottles of liquids from Alicante, Spain to England but I know it would likely vary a bit depending on where in England, they wouldn't be my own they'd just be brand drinks that aren't easily found in England

Thanks in advance for any help :)

I'm stuck. (updating Brand Name value from "Generic" for Brand Registry application)

I have been going back and forth with Seller Support for days now and am so frustrated. Coming onto Reddit to see if anyone has been through something similar.

Backstory: I sell prints of my own artwork, for which I have GTINs. I have a pending trademark and I'd like to apply for Brand Registry.

In order to apply for Brand Registry, I need the following (according to Amazon's Brand Registry application):
"Enter 1 to 3 ASINs that represent your brand. The brand name on the application should match the brand name on the ASIN."

On my 4 listings, the brand name is listed as "Generic." I set it to "Generic" following Amazon's Brand Name Policy. I have been told by Seller Support that I cannot update the Brand Name value to my brand name (it creates confusion apparently). Fine. So I need to create new ASINs which are identical to my existing 4 listings, which have the Brand Name value set to **my brand name** and not "Generic."

I tried to create an identical listing but received error 8541 under the Brand Name value:

8541: The value **my brand name** specified cannot be used as it conflicts with the value 'Generic' for ASIN **my ASIN** in the Amazon catalogue. If this is ASIN **my ASIN**, update the value to match the ASIN data. If this is a different product, update identifying information (UPC/EAN/Part Number/etc.).

I tried deleting one of my ASINs to create a new ASIN with the same GTIN, but I received the same error 8541.

How do I proceed? (Losing my mind over here)

Can you mention your website on a listing without linking to it?

I know you can't put a link to your website in a listing, but can you say something like "More color options are available on our website." In the description?

Not even saying what the website is, just leaving it up to the user to seek out my website if they are interested in other colors

How many UPCs are needed for one product with child products?

Say you have one parent product with 5 child products under it (only differences between them is color), do I need 5 UPCs (one for each actual product) or just 1 UPC for the parent product? UPCs are expensive so just want to make sure I buy the right amount. How many UPCs are needed for one product with child products?

Are Health Claims on Amazon Products Regulated? Need Some Clarification!

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to understand how some products on Amazon, like nasal strips, are being sold with claims that they help stop issues like snoring or improve sleep quality, but the listings remain live despite these health-related claims. For example, many nasal strips marketed as "snoring aids" claim to "open your airways" and "help you sleep better."

My question is: If these products are specifically marketed as snoring aids, shouldn't there be regulations or guidelines they need to follow, especially if the product is making medical claims about treating snoring?

Is there any resource or article that explains when and what kinds of health-related claims are considered "medical" and require certification, testing, or regulatory approval to be sold on Amazon?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Return fraud is getting worse by the day

I am a long time FBM seller, I sell electronics of all different varieties, I understand this is a high fraud category, but it's starting to get out of hand.

My return rate is about 10% (extremely high) of those returns over half of them are fraud of some kind. Either buyers send back broken items with different serial numbers, remove parts/accesories from the original shipment before returning, lie about the item being defective, or simply try to get a refund without returning.

My margins make this worth it for me, or that's how I used to feel at least. However I am seeing a further uptick in fraud over the past 8 months. I charge restocking fees when fraudsters return things and will continue to do so, my seller feedback rating is still 97%!

Anyone else noticing fraud trending upward?

Customer says delivery missing

I had a customer reach out asking when their package will be delivered. Tracking shows it was delivered yesterday and that is what I responded with. They responded later stating “the delivery message says they handed it to a resident-but no one was home”

I’ve not had this happen before. Honestly, after being undercut so hard on my products I’m practically out of business. Replacing products that were lost or damaged by no fault of my own really puts another nail in my businesses coffin. I don’t want to be a jerk and tell the customer it’s not my problem, but shouldn’t this be the mail carriers problem? Before I got undercut I would’ve shipped out a replacement no problem, but I went from making a couple bucks profit per item now I’m making pennies by selling 2 items together.

New API Canada, accerlerlist won’t work

I went to add a new batch on Accerlerlist and found that the interface had changed, now none of the items added printed labels right away rather all labels are available after the batch is done. Though adding the batch to amazon only produces error messages and the Accerlerlist support told me that my error message was due to amazon "not wanting" my items? Is this right, has anyone else had issues as well or am I just dumb?

Mysterious Disappearing Inventory: How Did My Shipment Count Drop from 944 to 776?

I sent a shipment with 944 items. While the shipment was in “Receiving” status, all 944 items were counted. Then, once the shipment was closed, the count dropped to 909. The next day, when I opened a research ticket, it had decreased further to 857. While I was uploading invoices for the case, the count went down again to 818. After a few days, I checked once more, and it had dropped to 776.

Here’s the count progression: 944 → 909 → 857 → 818 → 776

How is this even possible? How do they initially scan all the products and then keep “losing” them? Is this just a system issue? I recall having a similar issue with another shipment that was eventually resolved, but this time, the discrepancy between the expected and scanned product count is significantly larger.

Thanks.

How do you make money selling a <$5 product?

I'd love to know how sellers that sell $1, $2, $3 items make any money? It just seems that by the time you have to pay amazon to fullfill the item + any ppc (prob unlikely), there would be nothing left. Thanks!

Account stuck as professional instead of individual

I’m new to trying to sell on Amazon and am working on creating the business profile and I want to make it individual to avoid the monthly payment since I make personalized products at a smaller volume I think it’s the best solution for me.

Contacted Amazon support about it and they said I need to either pay the 39.99 then go into my account and downgrade to individual then go back to Amazon support and request a refund or create a new account with a different email and phone number.

I don’t get how this makes any sense since my account isn’t even fully created yet, and I never selected professional on my account, and I’m still in the process of entering all the information. Anyone had this issue or know a solution?

Transitioning UPCs on Amazon – Seeking Advice

I'm a 5-year Amazon seller with a brand-owned product line, and I'm looking for advice on transitioning from second-hand GS1 barcodes to official GS1-registered ones.

My Current Situation

  • We originally used second-hand GS1 barcodes (a budget decision when starting out).
  • We’ve now purchased official GS1-registered barcodes.
  • Current UPCs are functioning fine across all platforms, but we want to proactively switch to the new ones.

My Challenge

Amazon’s system seems more complex compared to other sales channels, and I want to ensure a smooth transition without disrupting operations like sales history or inventory management.

My Proposed Strategy

  1. Gradually replace current inventory with FNSKU-labeled items as a temporary solution.
  2. Transition to the new GS1 barcodes in phases.
  3. Work with Amazon to update product information accordingly.

I’m looking for advice from sellers who’ve successfully navigated this process. Specifically:

  • Best practices for transitioning UPCs on Amazon
  • Strategies to avoid interruptions during the switch

If you’ve been through this before, I’d greatly appreciate your insights! Thanks in advance.

Best reports to export to Tableau

I'm just learning Tableau and I was thinking it'd be a great way to learn if I export my Amazon data and try to finding interesting insight from that.

Has anyone done this? I find the reports on seller central quite confusing.

I'm hoping I could export multiple reports for the last few years, to see sales by demographic, returns, sales by day of week etc.

Can you have TWO color variations for the same single product?

I sell a product that consists of two main parts (top and bottom), and each part can be one of 5 colors (red, white, black, royal, navy).

For example, I can have a product that is red on top with the following combos where the bottom part's color changes (red & white, red & black, red & royal, red & red, red & navy).

I can then have another product that is royal blue on top and can have these variations: (royal & white, royal & black, royal & royal, royal & red, royal & navy).

Is this possible to setup as variations under one parent product? I'm trying but don't see a way to do it. I am a complete newbie so may be missing something.

Managing PPC and Organic Rank Recovery After Going Out of Stock

Hi community,

I’m looking for some advice regarding an issue I’ve been facing. Recently, one of my ASINs under a variation went out of stock. I used to target a specific keyword for this ASIN and had great results in both organic and sponsored rankings.

To avoid being out of stock for an extended period, I increased the price from $19 to $22, which allowed me to maintain the organic rank for as long as possible. However, when the product went out of stock and then came back into inventory, the new organic rank was much worse than before.

Here’s the situation:

I have two separate campaigns, one targeting low search volume keywords and the other targeting high search volume keywords.

Due to the lower organic rank, I increased my PPC . However, the issue is that the top high search volume keywords, which now have poor organic rankings, are eating up most of the campaign budget. Only 2–3 keywords are getting the majority of the spend, leaving little for other keywords.

I’m trying to decide the best approach moving forward:

1- Should I increase the overall campaign budget?

2- Should I transfer the top high search volume keywords to a separate campaign?

3- Or, should I keep the top keywords in the current campaign and move the other keywords that aren’t benefiting from the budget into a new campaign?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and advice! Thank you in advance

Selling FBA From UK To EU

I've been tempted into trying selling my FBA stock into EU countries. I'm curious to know if others have done this. I've been informed there are no extra fees but I'm not exactly trusting Amazon these days. So many hidden fees and complex wording. So I'm asking the group for their experience doing this. Surely it's costly for Amazon to ship to EU from UK. Obviously I'd like to get stock in any country that gets a level of profitable sales. Thank you.
