Fossil fuels release carbon into the air, contribute to global warming, and pollute wildlife habitats. It's time for change. We are a subreddit for discussing alternative energy options, like nuclear, wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, and more.

Emerging Fuels Technology is hosting a FREE webinar on Thursday, December 16th, and you’re invited! Find out how our groundbreaking technology autonomously converts waste from landfills, used water, and even cow and pig manure into carbon-negative, carbon-neutral, and low-carbon transportation fuels—all at a low cost. We’ll also be holding an interactive Q&A near the end of the session, so bring all the questions you want!

I have a waterfall on my property that has a great steady flow that never varies. Has anyone ever look into or used hydropower for there property?
I just read this...and I would be shocked to see their energy balance. Electricity to compressed air is a very low efficiency energy transfer.
"The company uses excess energy to pump compressed air into giant underground caverns. The air displaces water up to a surface-level reservoir. When the power is needed, the water is released back down into the cavern, pushing the air past turbines that generate electricity as it exits."
I was riding through West Texas last week and couldn't believe the amount of windmills and solar panels along the interstate. Started me thinking is going to start us in the other direction.
