Hi I’m just getting into witchcraft and I just wanted to know what would be good to get for a beginner altar.
Just want to share my altar. Let me know what you think.
I was able to get a unique white marble polyresin Pazuzu statue from a new seller just in time for Samhain. Now my place of power looks exactly like I wanted it to be.
Runes are my main study/practice, but as you’ll be able to tell from the books and whatnot I’m very interested in all manner of learning in the Occult. I’ll share a couple pictures in a comment as well.
I did a search for 'Selene' here and, surprisingly, didn't come up with any posts! Was curious if anyone had an altar set up for Selene and if they had any statues/figures of her, where did you get yours? I've always been drawn to the moon. I remember when I was very little, my dad and I were outside sitting on the porch, moon was full or near full, and I said "I'm going to go to the moon one day!" - now that I'm adult, that's not going to happen (haha), but I never lost my appreciation. I had a sudden and random urge to set up an altar for Selene, but I'm having trouble finding an idol for her that I'm drawn to.. I've considered going the framed artwork route, but I really would like a statue or figure of her. I've checked Etsy, Amazon, Google, and I'm just not finding anything that's drawing me. If you have an altar for Selene, would love some insight on idols, photos, statues, etc.
Still adding to it baby Wiccan here any tips or advise
She gave it a 10/10 and is very excited to knock over every single thing once I turn my back
This weekend I will be a part of a really amazing gathering that’s like a fun alternative to Halloween for children. It’s called the Enchanted Quest where one night a year a portal opens to a magical forest with different stations the kids visit to make wishes and have magic teas and listen to magical stories and various wholesome activities. My station is about altars and I would love to hear any ideas for wholesome ways to teach the practice of altars and there purpose to kids anywhere from 3 years old and up. My station partner and I will be setting up a Tibetan elemental altar. I plan to wow them by ending with us all collectively sending out a prayer and burning an open tea bag that will burn and float up and send our prayers into the magic. The thought of them just gasping and believing in their prayer being accepted, oh my god 🤩
Any ideas to make it more magical and memorable would be helpful! Thanks so much!
A buddy found this in a book he found in one of those urban library thingies - anyway I wanted to cleanse it and tape it above my altar. Yay ? Nay ?
not sure this is the right place to post this but ive for personal reasons moved away from spirituality almost completely. however i am working a lot on my mental health and i struggle greatly with my identity, so ive been trying to come up with ideas for a kind of "altar" that is just a representation of who i am to help solidify my identity to myself. i thought this was honestly a really good idea and wanted to share it as well as ask if anyones done anything similar. if you have anything to share i would love to hear about it! :]
It's a little messy bc I was sleeping in my babies room last night and had to clear room on her table.
I'm gonna paint this white and knock out the middle piece where the drawers used to be, but i would like to know how to improve this altar. I am going to buy a moon shelf so i can store my crystals and herbs on the wall, and i would like to have some decorations on top, like a mini statue of the triple goddess and horned god.
Any tips on storing jars of herbs, how do you store altar decorations for the sabbats when they're not in use, or anything else?
Thank you all! Blessed be🪻
Various life chapters merge for sacred contemplation
For the bowl I'm going to do sand first layer, find some aquatic color glitter for the second layer, third layer more sand and top that off with some seashells. I need to ask my friends for help to this as I don't have access to any beaches.
Pineapple crystal I got from Hobby Lobby the last one.
Main coverage fabric Hobby Lobby.
Bowl Hobby Lobby.
The fabric underneath the bowl is from Walmart. The pre-cut fabric.
The sticker was something I got as a free gift from an Etsy order and the beaded rope was from Hobby Lobby.
Candle is a costal air and sea salt scented candle.
I also bought a Jörmungandr mini spell bottle online and the Etsy seller used this to put inside the mini spell bottle.
Dragon's vein agate, amazonite, sea salt, gold flakes, mint and blue foil flakes. I put the mini spell bottle next to his dad's altar, it's why it's not in the picture. But I plan to order an herbal custom blend jar on his altar from Etsy.
UPG here but Jörmungandr loves anything minty!
Hey everyone, I have always built an ofrenda for Dias De Los Muertos but this year I have a crazy cat that I feel like would knock over/ get into the water and food offerings. What have you done to combat this issue with your food and drink offerings? Thanks for the help!
After some excellent and, now that it's been pointed out, advice about the dangers of altars in book cases, all has been relocated to a safer place. I'm pleased with the change.
