When you have something more specific, more OTP, post it here. Here's our wiki
You may post about products or job openings if you:
Post using your own personal account.
Encourage discussion and respond to comments.
It is uniquely relevant to Alpharetta (and/or some of our neighboring communities on a stretch)
We are a community subreddit not to be used for free advertising. Please and thank you.
It is understood that someone might want to warn others against a business, inform others about an event that occurred, etc. Regardless of whether a post is true or not, they must substantiate their claims (if any).
The qualifications for inflammatory can be determined on a case by case basis, and as directed by you folks. We're a community moderated subreddit. If you guys think something is inflammatory, report it or shoot the mods a DM. We'll figure out whether it's malicious, disrespectful, or just plain trolling - or better, whether you guys perceive it as such - and we'll handle it to the best of our abilities.
Keep in mind that we are a "community moderated" subreddit, so reports and downvotes will be taken into heavy consideration when deciding whether a post should be removed, whether it's on the grounds of the rules or not.

Moving to the area and we have a hundred bottles or so of some nicer wines we would like to store while we transfer to the area. Any recommendations on any wine storage locations? Something with lockers, temp control and restricted access.
thanks
There’s a solar storm going on right now, which is causing the northern lights to be visible here in Alpharetta. It’s still hard to see with the naked eye, but take a picture of the sky with your phone and you’ll see all kinds of purple, blue, and green.
Here’s an article about it:

Where can I find live music around town on Sunday? (Preferably afternoon/evening, but any time of day is fine!)
Sssssnakes. For some residents, even hearing the word snake is enough to send a sssshiver down their spine, but these amazing animals are an important part of our natural ecosystem and help to control the population of mice, rats, and other pests. They sometimes can be found in our yards and make their homes in wooded areas like those along the Big Creek Greenway. So, let’s take a moment to learn a little more about snakes including which ones you should view as friends and which you need to avoid.

Taste of alpharetta ends at 10pm. Looking for a dance floor to kill the rest of my buzz lol. Being a Thursday, I know that's a hard ask. Within walking distance. recommendations?
Update: thx everyone! I checked both roaring (the speak easy under the hotel) and mercantile. Roaring is def the future move. Mercantile was alright but small and no one danced. I liked the roaring social vibe better was cozy and more groovy. The atmosphere/decor def felt like a speak easy right out of a swing era time period. Was upscale but everyone seemed welcoming and chill. I was also impressed that they had music acts pretty much lined up the whole week on their sign in the door. The door man was friendly too. Cool guy.
Anyone happen to know why it seemed like the entire department and GSP was deployed today? On a 6 mile commute I came across 5 GSP cruisers and 6 Alpharetta cruisers.
Attending the event for the first time.considering I live in the area is it recommended to take a ride share vs parking?
I have no idea what's the crowd going to be like and whether parking shortages are to be expected. If anyone can share their past experiences they would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi folks,
We have a Bearded Dragon that is sick and we are looking for a good Vet. Yesterday we went to a Vet in Johns Creek that said they take exotic pets, but they didn't seem to have a clue. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi all,
I’m wanting to split a 2b2b in Alpharetta/Roswell, and I’d like separate lease agreements for my half of the apartment. Wondering if anyone can recommend a place that does this? So far I’ve only contacted places where both parties will be on the agreement, but no separation of responsibility. Thanks!
I have to move to the area for my job and have a horrible phobia about roaches. I am coming from the NW where unless you are messy they aren't a concern.
How normal are they there? I'm mainly concerned about them in my apt. It's not just an ick, it's like a scratch my skin til I bleed kind of phobia.
Thanks for the info and please be kind.
I’m ready to make some boiled peanuts, does anyone know where i can buy some fresh green peanuts? I used to buy them at a little grocery store in FL but i won’t be spending summer down there this year. 🥜
I took my kids to the new park in town, Mid Broadwell park. There were a bunch of little toddlers running around and some small dogs on leashes. Then a man walks by and lets his two enormous German shepherds off the leash. One is a little hyper and not good at following him closely. Would this freak anyone else out- a huge dog loose around running toddlers and smaller dogs? Is there an ordinance that dogs must be leashes in town?
I just found out I’m expecting and I realized I don’t have many friends who are also going through this so I thought it’d be nice to have a support group to chat or hang out in person. Feel free to DM me :)

Some of you may be looking at tomorrow's weather forecast and wondering how the Taste of Alpharetta may be impacted. Let us take a moment to address that.
While the Taste of Alpharetta is a rain-or-shine event, the safety of the public is always our first priority, and the event would be canceled if winds in excess of 20 mph or lightning pose a threat to that safety. Our team is keeping a close eye on the weather forecast today and will be monitoring area weather conditions throughout tomorrow’s event so that we can quickly adjust our plans if necessary.
The City will push information out to event patrons through the Taste of Alpharetta app that the public downloaded to purchase tickets. We will also push information to the public via Facebook and Instagram u/tasteofalpharetta and via the City of Alpharetta website and social media channels.
For now, we look forward to celebrating another great Taste of Alpharetta with you on May 9!
My partner is currently looking for a new role in or around Alpharetta, if anyone has any leads or if their business is hiring I would love to know.
She has nearly 10 years EA experience, most of it with a CFO, but has been temping recently.
If this breaks any of the subs rules I apologize and don't hesitate to delete this.
Hi I am a recent college graduate who found a job in alpharetta. I am looking to rent a private room around mid-late june with a budget of 1000. Does anyone have any leads? I tried looking on facebook but I haven't gotten any replies in a week.
Info:
21M, work in tech, no pet, no smoke.
Love that Big Peach-Alpharetta offers evening runs. Looking to see if there’s a dedicated club of morning runners. Would welcome the chance to have training partners that aren’t deer and opossums on the Green Way.
Its on the lawn between Oak and Colletta’s. Bring a chair. Starts at 7:30 every first Monday of the month through October.
The Taste of Alpharetta is almost here! Our largest (and tastiest) annual event will fill the streets of Downtown Alpharetta on Thursday, May 9.

This includes the closure of State Route 9 between Old Milton Parkway and Milton Avenue/Academy Street from 10:00 AM Thursday until 1:00 AM Friday. Please reference the attached map and list of specific closures below.
Motorists not traveling to the Taste of Alpharetta are strongly encouraged to use Westside Parkway, North Point Parkway, and GA400 to avoid the area. Those traveling near Downtown Alpharetta on Thursday should anticipate heavy travel delays.

You know what I'm talking about! Where is the best place to get LPW wings in Alpharetta?
Haynes Bridge Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic between Academy Street and Park Plaza beginning Monday, May 20. The closure, which is necessary due to road construction, is expected to remain in effect through Wednesday, May 22. This schedule may be delayed by rain.
Motorists should use Westside Parkway, Old Milton Parkway, Main Street, and Academy Street to navigate around the impacted area.
Alpharetta residents whose homes are located along Brook Run, Campion Path, or Rowes Circle or whose driveways are accessed from Haynes Bridge Road between Academy Street and Rowes Circle will be able to access their homes by turning onto Haynes Bridge Road from Academy Street. These locations will not be accessible from the south.
On Sunday, May 5, the City of Alpharetta answered the over-asked question, who let the dogs out, as we officially opened the new Webb Bridge Dog Park. The newest amenity in the Webb Bridge Park Complex, the dog park was made possible by a generous donation from the Mulroy Family Foundation and the vision of Tim and Michele Mulroy and their rescue Golden Retriever, Pebbles.
Located adjacent to the first parking lot upon entering the park and the lower soccer fields, Webb Bridge Dog Park features areas for large and small dogs, plenty of room for furry friends to frolic, and (of course) lots of trees. The area offers a natural aesthetic and maintains a rustic charm with its hardwood mulch flooring. Near the main entrance to the off-leash dog park, there is a large silhouette of a dog where owners can place memorial tags for dogs who have crossed over the rainbow bridge, serving as a way to share and preserve their memory.
The new Webb Bridge Dog Park joins the Waggy World Dog Park, which opened in Wills Park in 2006 and was renovated in 2018, to provide fun and safe places for Alpharetta’s dogs to find their fun and make new puppy pals.
The Mulroy Family Foundation was founded in 2020 and is designed to give back to the local community by supporting worthy causes related to the environment, the sick, the young, and animals.
Going off comments in this post, it seems like there are a lot of people looking to make friends in the area. I'm trying to see if there would be any interest in getting a group together and trying to somewhat regularly meet. Since it's not the easiest to make friends as a busy adult, let's try and help each other out!
This post is just to see interest. We can figure out a plan on what to do later!
EDIT: OK, there's clearly a want here as indicated by the 30+ comments. I'm gonna do some research into a nice casual spot that can handle at least that many without breaking the bank. Don't be surprised if you see a post or two pop up looking for any ideas/suggestions before I try to get something scheduled! Thanks everyone!
