Quick questions:

Simple Questions Simple Answers
What is this subreddit? This subreddit is a place to both mock and refute the ideas of subreddits that exist solely to propagate bigotry towards a certain race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and the like. A fuller definition of both hate subreddits and our purpose, as well as a list of notable hate groups on Reddit, can be found here. More information about our purpose can be found in our FAQ. Troll subreddits and subreddits whose purpose is not explicit hatred will not be considered hate subreddits and links to both will be removed.
Why are you doing this? Part of our mission is to get moderators to step up, because it is ultimately them who decide if their community is going to be a hate community or not. If this has no hope of happening, as is often the case with smaller subs, we want to pressure the admins to act. Obviously they aren't going to quarantine or ban a default sub and since it's not our primary goal anyways, we regularly make an exception for defaults, when hateful comments are up-voted and left there by the mods.
What if I'm banned? Modmail us if you're banned and you believe the ban was unjustified. Please do remember that hurling slurs at the moderators will not improve your chances of getting unbanned. Spamming mod mail is not a good way to get on our good side. We have a ban appeals process which is as simple or as complex as you want it to be.
What if I'm from a hate subreddit? People from hate subreddits can post here, but there are enforced limitations on what you are allowed do in such a case. See here for more information. Be civil.

Simple Rules Those Rules Explained
Boycott hate, don't participate Per Reddit Sitewide Rule 2, Vote Manipulation & Interfering With \ Disrupting Other Communities are Prohibited. When you view linked subreddits, posts, or comments, Do Not Vote, Comment, or Otherwise Engage. Why? If you do so, Reddit will action your account, and we will ban you from participating in /r/AgainstHateSubreddits.
Follow the Reddit rules We enforce the global Reddit rules here in AHS; any doxxing or spamming in particular will be met with immediate ban. Given that brigading is against the rules of Reddit, if you are found to be commenting in a linked post after it was made, you will be banned from further participation in this sub. It goes without saying that calls to violence or doxxing will not be tolerated. Racial, ethnic, religious, transphobic, homophobic, misogynist, and other slurs will not be accepted - because we automatically remove them, we recommend that you avoid direct quoting of slurs. Depending on the context and severity, users throwing around slurs will be met with a ban or a warning.
No self promotion of hate subs We don't want the subreddit inundated by submissions from bigots, trying to self-promote their hate subs. All bigoted submissions will be removed on sight, and violators permabanned. Participate in Good Faith AHS is not your soapbox
Bigots may only participate in overriding good faith If you are a bigot from a hate subreddit, you must reply to the OP specifically, keeping your response civil and relevant. i.e.: If you're responding to a link about African achievements, you can't paste a rant about black IQ in the United States. Gish Gallop copypastas and thought-terminating clichés are forbidden. One-sentence "driveby" Just Asking Questions and flamebait comments earn a ban. Don't play Victim — Take Responsibility. AHS is not your soapbox.
No ban evasion This will lead to your alt being banned, and to you being reported to the admins. Ban evasion is a shadowban-worthy violation of the Reddit rules.
No deleting comments Seriously. It's embarrassing to lose an argument, but deleting comments in a conversation serves nothing but giving you a free one-way ticket to being banned indefinitely.
Posts about Regional / Geographic / Ethnicity-focused subreddits must be in Good Faith. Posts claiming that a subreddit which is dedicated to a regional / country / ethnic group, is hosting a culture of hatred - must be reviewed by a moderator before being posted, and must be in Good Faith and with Clean Hands; AHS is not a proxy for international slapfights.
No small subs If there are fewer than 1000 subscribers to a given subreddit, please don't submit a link to items on it or to it, unless it has been previously featured on /r/AgainstHateSubreddits, or the moderators have approved featuring the subreddit. Search AHS for prior submissions If in doubt, message the mods.
Treat hatred seriously "Hitler might have been a bad guy but he was kind to dogs" -- Quick, is this a joke? -- or a Nazi trying to wheedle someone into a conversation about how Nazis aren't all bad guys and maybe have some good aspects --? Hatemongers delight in subverting the mission of AHS by platforming thinly-veiled propaganda here, and by reporting to the admins sarcastic comments to get people suspended. Don't Be That Guy. Be sincere & straightforward. Avoid even the appearance of bigotry
Do not debate economic theory This is not the appropriate sub to do so. We encourage you to take these matters elsewhere. As a reminder, we take slapfighting and calls to violence seriously here.
No shitposting This is purely subjective. No slap fights. We may choose to warn you. We may not.

Full FAQ: How to report Hate Groups, NCIM, and CSAM. (& why there aren’t new posts here anymore)

There is no longer any reason or excuse for any subreddit to platform any abusive material any longer.

Hate speech, violent threats, harassment, Non-Consensual Intimate Media (NCIM), Child Sex Abuse Media (CSAM) - don’t belong here - and you can take private action to ensure they’re kicked off and kept off the site.

Reddit now allows people to file private, anonymous reports on this content - reports filed in a way that prevents advertising the existence of abusive content to others, that prevents amplifying it.

In September 2023, Reddit, Inc. finally closed the loop and took responsibility for preventing abuse of their platform.

Now it’s up to all of us to hold them to their promises.

You can:

  • report individual posts and comments using the “Report” button on the item;
  • use https://reddit.com/report;
  • report user profiles that have abusive names or profile pictures or biographies;
  • report entire subreddits and their moderator teams using a Formal Moderator Complaint (see below).

These reports aren’t public; They can’t be used by abusers to amplify their harms; They prevent amplifying harm to the abusers’ targets and victims. And - The abusers can’t target you for revenge or harassment for filing these reports.

If you find a subreddit that is:

* Promoting Hatred;

* Distributing Non-Consensual Intimate Media or Child Sexual Abuse Material;

or

* Promoting Community Interference with Other Subreddits —

Report those subreddits: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=19300233728916

If you find a subreddit that is recreating a banned subreddit (Ban Evasion Subreddit):

Report that subreddit: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058315692-How-do-I-report-a-community-I-suspect-of-ban-evasion

Don’t post here about them; don’t post elsewhere about them - doing so helps the abusers amplify their harms, and paints a target on you - and in the case of NCIM and CSAM, telling people where to find them is likely to be criminal.

Cut off the Oxygen of Amplification.

Found a hate group on Reddit? Here’s what to do.

You found a subreddit that’s infested by a hate group - maybe even it’s being run by a hate group? Or any other Sitewide Rules violations?

Here’s what to do.

#Step 1: DO NOT PARTICIPATE

Don’t join, post, comment, or vote in the group. Reddit’s recommendation algorithm is simple: If you participate in a group, that group is important to you, and you willingly associated with that group.

To get Reddit to kick hate groups off the site, it’s super important that you do not associate with hate groups.

They rely on your participation to spread hate!

#Step 2: USE THE REPORT BUTTON

Report the hate speech. Every post and comment has a Report button attached to it - sometimes under a ‘…’ button.

If you’re using a browser, you can copy the URL of the post or comment and report it using this link

#Step 3: FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST THE MODERATORS

A subreddit where people openly post racist slurs, use misogynist language, screech about asylum-seekers or immigrants, vomit antiSemitism or Islamophobia or abuse LGTBQ people?

There is no excuse for these things!

Reddit’s Moderator Code of Conduct tells subreddit moderators:

We also expect that moderators uphold Reddit’s Content Policy and abide by Reddit’s User Agreement (especially Section 8), as well as make a concerted effort to remove and report violating content in their communities.

… You should never create, approve, enable or encourage rule-breaking content or behavior.

… You have enough Mods to effectively and consistently manage your community.

When a subreddit has too few moderators to prevent hate speech from being posted to their community and the hate speech stays up - if the community doesn’t report hate speech (which happens because they approve of the hate speech) - if they don’t implement any of the standard Automoderator rules that are available (absolutely free of charge) in the Automoderator library, and don’t turn on the (absolutely free of charge) native Hate Speech Filters which Reddit offers -

These so-called “moderators” are enabling rule-breaking content and behavior.

Tell Reddit to take action on these hate subreddit operators! File a Moderator Code of Conduct Complaint!

Include links to posts or comments that contain hate speech! Point out any subreddit rules or the name of the subreddit if they contain hate speech! If their moderators are the ones who wrote the hate speech, point that out — with links to the places they wrote hate speech, inside that subreddit or outside that subreddit!

If someone is writing hate speech in one subreddit, they’re going to enable other people to write that hate speech in another subreddit they are supposed to moderate!

#Step 4: ONWARD AND UPWARD

Join a different community for the subject that you want to talk about! Reddit doesn’t have Official Communities for anything, and anyone can create and moderate a subreddit - so it’s always possible to find or make a group for your interests!

You can:

  • report individual posts and comments using the “Report” button on the item;
  • use https://reddit.com/report;
  • report user profiles that have abusive names or profile pictures or biographies;

* Promoting Hatred;

* Distributing Non-Consensual Intimate Media or Child Sexual Abuse Material;

or

* Promoting Community Interference with Other Subreddits —

Report those subreddits: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=19300233728916

If you find a subreddit that is recreating a banned subreddit (Ban Evasion Subreddit):

Report that subreddit: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058315692-How-do-I-report-a-community-I-suspect-of-ban-evasion

Don’t post here about them; don’t post elsewhere about them - doing so helps the abusers amplify their harms, and paints a target on you - and in the case of NCIM and CSAM, telling people where to find them is likely to be criminal.

Cut off the Oxygen of Amplification.

Report things to the Reddit Admins. Privately. Not Here.

If you’re leaving a hate group and need help to escape, Life After Hate has resources to help you

The audience of r/conservative conflates all Palestinians as Terrorists, and calls all student protestors on University of Texas campus “pro-Hamas”

Reddit’s Rule against Promoting Hatred based on identity or vulnerability specifies:

Communities and people that incite violence or that promote hate based on identity or vulnerability will be banned.

Marginalized or vulnerable groups include, but are not limited to, groups based on their actual and perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or disability. These include victims of a major violent event and their families.

The audience of r|Conservative:

https://ghostarchive.org/archive/LRjeV

Don't bring that here, we don't coddle terrorists

+89

A protestor appears directly underneath

Do they not have a right to peacefully assemble in the public square?

-54

Response:

At this point the mask has come off and these protests are pro-hamas, a group dedicated to the eradication of Israel, nothing peaceful about it.

Which is, per the definition Reddit uses of hate speech, hate speech -

Targeting student protestors, protesting against Israeli atrocities against the Palestinians, as “pro-Hamas”

And

Equating all Palestinians as Hamas, all Palestinians as terrorists.

Further down

Find me a Palestinian protestor who isn't anti semite. I never realized how much elite academia hates Jews.

Further down

Wonder who’s funding these bad actors? The BLM playbook and grift looks to be coming in hot.

There are more, but these serve to prove the point.

Some important facts:

Equating Zionism to Judaism, as these commenters (almost certainly all philosemitic Protestant Christians) are doing, is itself antisemitism. Equating Israel to Judaism is itself antisemitic. There are many Jewish people worldwide and in America who have spoken out against the atrocities Israel has performed against arbitrary Palestinians in the past six months.

/r/conservative has a history of demanding that progressive protestors be suppressed by institutional power, including by police power. It constantly vilifies the Black Lives Matter movement and protests.

They’re not suddenly Virtuous Protectors of Judaism and Israel, Anti-Terrorist Champions in that subreddit; they have the position they have because it lets them call university students “terrorists”, call non-White Arabic / Non-Christian Palestinians “terrorists”, and support violent suppression of peaceful protest and peaceful speech by their enemies.

They support this position because they believe they will have sanction to promote hatred of people based on identity and vulnerability.

This culture of hatred in that subreddit aimed at non-Judeo-Christian, non-Whites persists, and the operators of the subreddit cannot push back on it, to uphold Reddit’s Sitewide Rule 1, because the hatred is pervasive to the political group.

They’ve clearly abandoned the values of democracy — the notion of free speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of academic inquiry, the right to protest — and abandoned upholding the Reddit User Agreement.

In favor of a fascist police state exercising the power to silence peaceful protests for peace through false claims of criminal support of terrorism.

R|Conservative — like the empty political movement it exists to promote — is nothing more than a hate group.

You can:

  • report individual posts and comments using the “Report” button on the item;
  • use https://reddit.com/report;
  • report user profiles that have abusive names or profile pictures or biographies;

* Promoting Hatred;

* Distributing Non-Consensual Intimate Media or Child Sexual Abuse Material;

or

* Promoting Community Interference with Other Subreddits —

Reddit’s July - December 2023 Transparency Report is up.

https://www.redditinc.com/policies/transparency-report-july-to-december-2023

Per their transparency report, July-December 2023, ~4.4 billion items were posted to Reddit.

Admins action ~68,700 of them as violating Sitewide Rule 1, which prohibits promotion of hatred.

This represents a literal 1 in a million incident rate of actionable hate speech on Reddit.

Rampant transphobia on r-rspod

It's an entire thread dedicated to dehumanizing trans lesbians and engaging in extremely targeted hate toward a small, marginalized minority of an already small and marginalized minority.

Archive: https://ghostarchive.org/archive/F928o

Title: Why are so many trans-women lesbians?

A few upvoted comments:

593 upvotes:

"bc a lot of them are just autogynephilic straight men"

Context: "autogynephilia" is the transphobic and unfounded belief that being trans is nothing more than a sexual fetish.

270 upvotes:

"Straight men with a sexual fetish"

41 upvotes:

"Literally lol they’re so gross"

There's also a healthy amount of open discussion in the comments acknowledging that their behavior is bannable.

63 upvotes:

"Are you trying to get the sub banned?"
