Question for the mac users out there - was looking at a 48gb config of a MBP Max with 48gb of memory, but have no reference on apple silicone and how well AE runs for more complicated compositions - anyone have issues with under 64gb ram when you're working on ram previews, etc.? thanks in advance!

This is the UI element in question in my AE composition (the two white squares)

And here it is visible in my Premiere timeline

The precomps each contain one shape layer with four polygons each, that's it. Nothing in either seems to be selected that would have this UI box active.

Google hasn't yielded anything but my search terms way be way off base because I just don't know what the box corresponds to.

Hey everyone, I'm on a bit of a time crunch, I need a couple effects done for a project I need done in a little less than 24 hours from when this post goes live. They don't need to be crazy, in fact they can be pretty simple, it just needs to be something, and give the essence of what it's supposed to be. The effects are as follows:

Effect 1 - "Aura" ~12 secs

Effect 2 - "Glow Eye" ~7 secs

Effect 3 - "Black Widow Electric Baton" ~25 secs

Effect 4 - "Purple figure" ~30 secs

Effect 5 [just effect 3 again] - ~35 secs

Effect 6 - "Hallucination Takeover" ~20 secs

I'm offering $200 flat for the whole thing, or if you just wanna do one I can break down the price based on length and complexity, I just need it done ASAP. DM me and I'll send you the link to the Raw footage video.

Does anyone know to animate just the centre of an animation without animating the start and end please? E.g I have a vine I want to animate but just the centre so it looks like it’s moving (as the start and end are behind objects) but using Omino or anything similar the start and end move a long the path too.

I'm trying to do something I assumed was pretty simple, but running into a road block. Just a simple sphere with lines outlining the polygons. The problem is the vertical lines don't reach all the way to the bottom or top (just horizontal rings). I even tried breaking the sphere up to "caps" and "body", 2 separate obj models, but that didn't work either. Any ideas?

Someone sent me a short clip of an ipad that they want the screen replaced. The only thing is that it was shot on a GoPro as a POV shot and the tablet warps a lot as the person looks up and it gets closer to the edge of the screen.

Optics Compensation is not helping because it is still distorting even if it's a bit straighter. I tried my Lockdown plugin but it's having trouble with it. Any suggestions on how to handle this?

I think I'm going crazy trying to figure this out because I swear it was an option that you could turn off/on. The inactive parts of the layer, I don't want to see at all. Example: The iris colored layer, I want that faded part completely gone as an option. Is there a way?

So I'm kind of new to AE but maybe approaching intermediate level ... I'm trying to make a 4 shot / tile / mosaic effect in a HD project in AE. The 4 shots are all of different sources stock footage and a 4k shoot. I'm applying the same shape layer with rounded corners as a track matte to each of the shots individually. However, I feel the quad doesn't feel symmetrical. What am I doing wrong and what does someone suggest I do differently? I'm reading that rounded corners are unreliable. I can't buy any plugins at this point.

I want to make something similar but I really don't have any ideas. Please help me. 🙏🙏🙏

Hi, I rotobrush my footage but it always gives me black background and when I try to put something behind it in premier pro it doesn't allow me.

I have the transparency turned on

I used all three rotobrushes 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0

I changed the settings to quicktime as well but nothing seems working so far.

Any Suggestions that might help?

Hi, I am bouncing between final cut pro and AE. In FCP, if I render something it mainly uses the GPU and rendering is quite fast. I am noticing in AE that the GPU doesn't seem to be used for rendering. I have AMD GPU 6950 XT, and am just curious is there some way to force AE in Windows to use the GPU hardware decode/encode functionality for rendering. haven't tried AE on Mac, but maybe in that case I can expect GPU rendering?

This probably sounds like senseless thing to do. But for purposes of doing some work in python this is how I need things.

In render queue there are quite a few settings, not sure what is actually needed. In the roto layer I have the view showing the black, white mask.

What would be suitable render settings for this?

I'm unemployed and I started learning how to edit videos. I wanted to start working with this and start doing some freelance work. I'll have to make a certain effort to be able to pay for Premiere Pro, but I can't afford After Effects at the same time for now. I saw that After Effects is essential for making transitions and animations, but can I do it just with Premiere? At least until I get my first clients.

I am trying to create a loopable animation similar to this.
My question is i always have a hard time trying to Keep it in a File size that is useable by our web developers.
If i reduce the size the quality suffers if i dont than the website becomes too heavy to be responsive.
if anyone works in such formats i would appreicate the help alot.

I’m considering purchasing Geolayers 3 from aeScripts (Adobe and aeScripts are same comapny ?), additionally for Adobe I’ve heard mixed reviews especially regarding customer service. Some claim it’s terrible, and I read about Adobe facing lawsuits with the US government. Has anyone had experience same issue with aeScripts support? If you don’t meet system requirements or have issues, do they offer refunds without hassle? Are there hidden charges involved? I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts. Thanks!
