Besides from lyrics, a lot of instrumental songs are also classified as ‘Afrofuturistic’, like the music of Sun Ra. Looking at solely the track and not the context surrounding it, what would be some key elements that make it Afrofuturistic?
The Mseli project is a project that aims to normalize sending and receiving appreciation messages.
Currently, we are trying to help communities become more united and connected through the daily appreciation tradition.
The tradition involves voting on a poll on a daily basis to ensure that individuals learning about afro futurism or working on projects concerning afro futurism, feel valued and acknowledged by their community.
If you believe daily appreciating them is important, appreciate below:

Hello to you.
I'm a very inexperienced writer and am toying with the idea of incorporating Afrofuturism into my SCI-FI novel. Since I have no experience and no reference other than pictures (which are great, if I may say so), I would like to ask you, what exactly defines Afrofuturism? 🤔
I can see that Afrofuturism is more complex than other genres, like Cyberpunk or Steampunk, and since I lack personal perspective, I'm afraid I'm doing it wrong. 😅
If more information is needed, please feel free to ask me, I do want your help and feedback to improve. 🙂
I am very grateful for your time and effort and look forward to reading how I can contribute to this wonderful world. 😃
Concept: Game of thrones set in Africa; Setting: Dallas, intense training facility, and then Nigeria, but 300 years in the future…wait, what?

Hey, what's up? It would be awesome if you could check my site. I mainly talk about music but will branch into different topics like afro futurism - the link is below.

Hello there everyone,
I'm a Semiotician/Researcher/Writer in the medium of Performance Art and this is the new project I'm working on [see attached].
I recently went through a very vivid experience that I could only even begin to process through my artistic endeavours. It's like life was poking fun at me by making my life imitate my art in SUCH and EXTREME way, that I thought instead of running from that and feeling ashamed, I'm gonna dive right deep into it and figure out why I was so naive (to have found myself in that situation).
In order to do that I wanted ro feel safe, so I went to the musical styles we had growing up. I want you to feel like it's 1995 again and you just turned on the radio on one of those overcast days. You brew yourself a cup of tea and just have this DJ playlist on for an hour. Smooth, uplifting, sexy good old fashioned music I made in my bedroom on my Samsung Galaxy! (I also like X-Files so...I had to make this thing in a very X-Filesy way!).
I start off at Vaporwave and end up in Afro-futurism, aesthetically. There's obviously a message in the piece.
Even in the way I'm sharing it, it's like an old school 90s press release! That's the part where it feels like life is playing a joke on me. Last year I did a parody video about some drama that didn't exist, to promote a fake song, but now I'm promoting real songs after I actually went through some DRAMA/HORROR. I guess what I'm trying to say is, when I was writing the lyrics, I made sure that everything was on a high vibration. The state of mind I was in when accessing my emotional content and when I was choosing which genres would best Transit that feeling to you. It's like an African Spiritual Technology ground study to centre the mind into 5D ways of relating.
