Anyone Who Uses Modafinil Dosages More Than 200 mg Regularly?

Modafinil and Diazepam

So, I take modafinil to increase my productivity and it works well for that - but recently I’ve found that if I l take diazepam in an evening afterwards Modafinil seems to make the effects of diazepam STRONGER the next day - even if I take modafinil the morning after I feel extremely drowsy and sleepy.

Is this a common thing? It’s pretty annoying because diazepam is good at helping me to calm down and sleep after a day of being on Modafinil.

Is there a good substitute for diazepam which will help me to sleep at night but not cause me to feel knocked out the next day?

Thanks in advance!

Modafinil/Noots Binge Recovery? Discussion

(DISCLAIMER: JUDGMENT NOT NEEDED, JUST SOLITARY ADVICE)

This past weekend starting Saturday, I’ve had a unique situation to say the least. I initially experimented with mental stimulants to complete a task. Skip to present day, I’ve reflected and realized that this  binge was basically my brain forcing me to keep it stimulated each time I was taking doses. My dopamine was hijacked. It was a machine that couldn’t deactivate at the moment Note:this wasn’t my first time using nootropics.

Here’s a breakdown of what happened:

Saturday 8 AM –8PM: Took a total of 450mg Armodafinil/1,600mg of Piracetam/ and 3,000mg of Alpha GPC

Every 3 hours I took different divided doses of each, however this led to mild headache, being stuck in obsessive, repetitive, and pattern-themed thoughts. I got too focused on mundane ideas instead of finishing the task I needed to. I took a quick nap which didn’t last too long because of the stimulation.

Sunday:

3AM-3PM: I woke up still having “deranged” thoughts, but  forced myself to take more foolishly since I felt a little fatigued after my nap.
300 mg Armodafinil/2,400mg Piracetam/3,000mg Aniracetam/2,000mg Alpha GPC.
This was what I took in divided hours until noon which put my Mind in a mania-like state.

I literally felt a tad bid schizo while I felt “smaller” in my mind. My brain/head  felt like It was being scalped while I had the sensation of “White noise” In my brain. Eventually, 3PM-8PM: I took 300mg of an NDMA Antagonist to see if it calms my brain down.
Which led me To feel more brain-dead.. I emotionally and physically felt  awful, like cold lava in my stomach and liver.

By Monday, things settled a bit, but my memory feels like a “White Mist”, and random thoughts kept surfacing. My memory , but now it’s burnt out. Any advice on how to recover? What kind of damage did I possibly physically and mentally do, and how can I heal faster? Please be straight with me and understanding. I was desperate, yet I don’t plan on Attempting anything like that again.

New to Modafinil, just got a prescription and had some questions

Hey all,

After meeting with a virtual doc based in the US, and finally receiving a Modafinil prescription. I did have a few questions for others with potentially more experience than myself.

  1. I only took 100mg to assess my tolerance, so far it seems good, and arguably I might have been able to take 200mg successfully. I feel no anxiety whatsoever, no weird feelings or effects.

  2. I did not drink any caffeine this morning, and while I dont feel "not awake" I have this WEIRD feeling of being awake while having caffeine withdrawals, almost like my body wants the caffeine, but I dont have the urge to drink any, aside from to alleviate that withdrawal type feeling. Its honestly so weird to explain.

  3. How fast did you guys move to 200mg? I know Modafinil isnt really considered a "nootropic" though it often gets coined as one, it seems more along the lines of a smart drug, in that it would reduce brain fog, increase wakefulness, working memory and so on. I think I am in a weird place though because of pointer #2 above, where I realistically could have been on the full dose due to my high caffeine tolerance, and maybe that would have helped with wakefulness experienced perhaps?

  4. Is caffeine safe to mix with modafinil?

  5. Are there any other natural nootropics IE: Alpha GPC and so on that can synergistically work well when taking additionally with Moda?

Appreciate any answers, and advice, as I know everyones brain chemistry and tolerances and experiences will vary.

Modafinil for studying?

Looking into modafinil to help me study and get work done. I would only use it maybe 1-2 a week as I don't want to build a dependency. However I just wanted to know if you guys thought it can be helpful for studying/getting work done and being productive. I don't care if it doesn't make me smarter I'm just looking for something to add that can make energized/motivated and focused.

Fladrafinal, Adrafinal, comparisons.

Fladrafinal, Adrafinal, comparisons.

I'm looking to add either Adrafinal or Fladrafinal (or both, but on different days, doses, etc).

Does anyone have any experience with Fladrafinil?

Would there be any reason to get it versus Adrafinil? I am thinking of purchasing Adrafinil, and the website also has Fladrafinil as well, for the same price.

I've checked out Psychonaut, and Fladrafinil has no entry, but Adrafinil has quite a good entry, with dosage, duration, etc.

Should I just stick with Adrafinil?

Also, how does Flmodafinil fit in or compare, as well?

Thanks!

Are there any modafinil related substances that are less likely to provoke allergic reactions?

I had abrasions in my mouth and rashes on my hands from modafinil when I originally took it. It was one of the few things that helped me though. I was wondering if any relatives of modafinil are less likely to provoke allergic reactions. I know there's an unrelated substance in the same class (9-fluorenol) that probably wouldn't cause an allergic reaction but I also don't think it will help me as much. I also remember reading people claim that if you took benadryl alongside modafinil that it might reduce the allergic symptoms but I am not super confident in that.

my experience on modafinil

i'm a 21yo male who's been using modafinil(200mg) for all-nighters during exams. here's what i've discovered about it that's not mentioned anywhere online:

it makes me super reactive - like, a jumpscare is wayyy too intense when i'm on moda. i'm constantly on edge and even a bit scared of it for days after taking it. plus, it gives me this weird mouth odor.

talking becomes a challenge too. i try to explain study stuff to my friends, but after about 10 mins, i start feeling dizzy and off-balance.

despite all these downsides, the benefits are pretty wild. i can study for like 20 hours straight (no joke) and it's actually effective. even with sleep deprivation, i'm able to absorb tons of info - i once plowed through half a partial differential equations textbook in just a couple nights.

i can't help thinking that if these negatives didn't exist, i could take this at least once a week and crush a whole week's worth of work in one go

Taking high doses of Modafinil.

I take like 600 mg of Modafinil (3 Tabs) every 2 days or so, sometimes I can increase it to 800 mg.

I'm wondering if it's pretty dangerous since I read that the maximum dose is 400 mg.

I'm afraid that I'm doing something bad for my organs and receptors, I didn't experience any side effects except for that normal dizziness if I'm sleep deprived.

Bad reaction to Nuvigil 12 days later?

As my post history states, I took Nuvigil 250mg for years for IH/N2. I was diagnosed in 2010 and the last time I took it was in 2016. I had no real side effects or issues with the med then.

My GP Rxed me 250 to help me function while I sought a second opinion from a new sleep doctor since my neurologist screwed me over. I took it on 8/25 and it was awful. I understand now that I should have titrated but it wasn't just that I was too alert, shaky, jittery, etc. By the end of the night, I felt like I had the worst case of food poisoning, was nauseous, alternating between sweating and freezing like I had a fever, had a massive migraine which took 2 Nurtecs, Motrin, and Tylenol to fix the next day, etc. I just don't ever remember reacting to Nuvigil that way before. It took almost a week before I felt somewhat normal again.

And here we are, 12 days later and I am experiencing full body itching. I've had issues with certain body parts itching in the last several months so at first I didn't think anything of it but it's a burning, itching, discomfort. And it's everywhere. No rashes that I can see. I'm concerned because I've had reactions similar to this with bipolar medications, those that are more likely to cause SJS. A sunburned, itchy feeling. But when I search, there are journal articles specifically stating that there are no cases of SJS with afinils?

The only other time I've experienced something like this was when I reacted to amoxicillin 10 days into treatment but I had hives then. But I know you can have a delayed allergic reaction to meds, even ones you've successfully taken before. Is that what this is? Or is itching common on the -finils? Taking Nuvigil is the only thing that was different in my life in this timeframe. I have no clue what else it could be.

Modafinil bad reaction?

Hello- Was wondering if anyone has had any similar experience to this or any idea what it could be.

Tried Modafinil for the first time a few months ago, 300mg, and felt probably way more stimulated than i should… but then also had a crazy side effect of feeling something really uncomfortable with all the little muscles or nerves or something in my face, scalp, and sides of my head…

Not really pain, but pressure, discomfort, maybe kind of electrified… really intense and concerning though…i checked online for interactions with other drugs i was taking, which were ketamine and the muscle relaxer baclofen, and nothing came up, but i had been binging them pretty good for a few weeks …

Anyway that crazy feeling throughout my face and scalp has come back on and off, as well as sort of warm or electrical feelings in my arms and legs, and right now i’ve had it for about a week, after some work stress last week and not sleeping well… it feels freaky and is really weirding me out…

Sneaky Productivity Boosts: What's Your Secret Strategy?

Hey everyone,

I recently found myself in a bit of a productivity rut, and it got me thinking about all the different methods I've tried over the years to stay focuse and efficient. Back in college, I had a pretty solid routine that involved early morning jogs around campus (the fresh air really did onders!), followed by study sessions at this quaint little café near my dorm. Those routines seemed so simplistic yet effective back then.

Fast forward to now, where adult life has thrown countless distractions into the mix—emails piling up faster than I can respond, Zoom meetings dragging on endlessly, you name it! While I've read about various "hacks" like time-blocking or using specific apps designed to boost focus (anyone here use Pomodoro timers?), I'm curious about what actually works for real people in our community.

So here's where I'd love your input:

1.**What unconventional tips or tricks do you have for boosting productivity?** Maybe something beyond the typical advice we see everywhere.

  1. **Have you ever dabbled with cognitive enhancers or supplements to improve focus?** There are so many out there; I'm wondering if anyone's seen particular benefits from their choices.

  2. **Does changing your environment play a big role for you?** Whetherit's working from a cozy corner of your home versus an office space—or even outdoors—I’d love to know how physical surroundings impact your workflow.

Let’s share our stories and perhaps uncover some new strategies we can all benefit from!

Thanks!

Choline or supporting supplements

I take modafinil (200g) 5 days a week and occasionally take armour Armodafinil (150g) as a replacement. I feel like it depletes certain things and I need to stay on top of my nutrition through the week to get the effect. Is choline worth supplementing - in addition to the above? Either way, does anyone have any other supplements which are worth pairing. I currently take magnesium glycinate, creatine, fish oils, vitamin dand sometime B vits (methylated B's made me feel like garbage so I stopped taking it) and a balanced diet on around 6 to 7 hours sleep per night (7/8 weekends). I have never taken Choline and don't know anything about it but I'm suspicious it's just hype like so many other supplements.

Back on Armodafinil, remind me what to expect?

I take 250mg armodafinil for IH/narcolepsy type 2 (depends on who you ask). Last time I took it was in 2016. I restarted treatment today and it is definitely working and I’m alert and awake but I’m also jittery and shaky. Like I’ve had tons of coffee, which I haven’t. Feels like I’m breathing more heavily and my heart is racing a bit but when I really focus on it, I seem fine.

Can someone remind me what to expect when starting this med? Last time I started it fresh was 2010 so I’ve forgotten. Back then it must have been fine because I kept taking it for years with no side effects. Do I just have to go through an adjustment period again?

Powdered flmodafinil, sublingual vs oral?

This might be a dumb question but can I just drink the powder down with some water/coffee or mix it in with a little bit of food? Are there any downsides to that besides the onset being slower, or is taking it sublingually better in every way? Thanks!

modafinil useful for studying?

As a background I'm a 23M and I'm pretty sure I don't have ADHD, I've been looking into modafinil as I need to study math for long periods of time over the next 6 months. I've heard things like it doesn't really help with learning and shouldn't be used by people under 25. Is this true? Cause if the info doesn't stick it's not gonna help me at all. I've been using phenylpiracetem and alph gpc but 100mg of the former and 150mg of the latter isn't really helping me focus, I'm constantly losing concentration. If anyone has any advice or alternatives I should try I'd appreciate it, thanks

Being nervous after modafinil

Hi guys, I have been taking modafinil from time to time since 2021. When it comes to fulfiling my duties its super helpful, as I am little lazy and not in a hurry, though my patience to people and general nervousness seems to change a lot after taking a pill. It’s not like i am getting aggressive, but little deconcentration or imposing a change of plans makes me nervous and calming down and trying to focus on actual work takes lot of time. Additionaly, i get very sleepy after any nervous situation on modafinil…it happens both while using 200mg, and 50mg. I bought armodafinil and i will check it now. Do you happen to have similar experiences? Do you know why is it so? Is there anything I can do to minimize this side effect? Also do you pee like 15 times per day too? :S

taking modafinil daily, how can I sleep on it?

Im 22 with adhd modafinil is helping me a lot and i don't want to stop it in the meantime or even cycle it, the issue with it is that it has a large half life, about 16 hours, I can sleep on it, I get to deep sleep and I dream while asleep occasionally so I think I'm getting to deep sleep, but the thing is as I said its still present in my blood and having an affect on my sleep.

I thought maybe I should mix a few things to take at night to counter its affects? modafinil increases histamine, and adrenaline in the brain, I thought I might take some propranolol and an antihistamine at night I just don't know what anti histamine I should use

I'm just trying to use modafinil without having to worry about its affects on aging and my sleep.

if you have any other recommendations let me know

Modvigil has no taste at all

Hello, I have modvigil 200 from Hab Pharma that have absolutely no taste at all even when fully dissolved in the mouth. It tastes like chalk. I also feel like there is no moda in most of them because I would literally fall asleep after taking like 300 mg and wouldn't feel the slightest difference in anything. Has anyone else had this experience?

Tolerance question

I’m an adhd person, social media manager and part time tattoo artist (it’s more like a hobby). Yesterday I took 200mg at 1:30 while I was tattooing, then I noticed I was speeding up so at 3pm I decided to take another pill (bad decision) I ended up with a lot of anxiety when the second pill kicked in. If I take 200mg today, will I still have that stimulation to get things done? Did that 400mg fuck up my tolerance? I have 5 pills left so I just want to get the most out of them. I have previous experience with stimulants such as meth and prescribed Ritalin.

Edit: I have a lot of things to do today and an important meeting tomorrow, is it safe to take moda for tomorrow’s meeting?

Fladrafinil has no effect on me

Hi r/afinil,

So I've tried fladrafinil (from the old [redacted], so I'm not concerned about the quality) many times over the span of several years, but I consistently get no effect from it. Every now and then I give it another chance because I think maybe this time will be different but it never is.

There's no official dosing guidelines because it's essentially a research chem, but if an effective dose of adrafinil is anywhere from 300-400mg, I figure that I should at least feel something at 250mg from the fluoronated version, but I am just as tired or maybe even slightly more than if I hadn't taken any at all. I've never tried modafinil because I want to avoid the potential legal issues since I'm from the US. I have been prescribed ritalin in the past, but that tends to make me want to fall back asleep, and getting refills is aggravating to the point where I gave up.

I'm trying to get my life back on track while not having health insurance, and no small part of that is to start waking up consistently earlier. The only thing that ever helped me was cyclazodone but I'm concerned about the continued availability.

Any ideas? Am I just not taking enough fladrafinil? What are others' experiences with it?

*edit: removed vendor name

Adrafinil + phenylpiracetam hydrazine + fasoracetam = nothing?

Copied intellimeds stim pack of combining these nootropics and genuinely felt nothing. Have used modafinil (modalert) before multiple times and it always did exactly what I wanted (can’t buy anymore due to legality in country). But this stack I felt nothing at all. Anyone have any experience good/bad with this stack or similar or even specifically with Adrafinil?

Armodafinil caused anxiety, depressive thoughts and decreased sleep quality

I'm just a regular guy who uses modafinil to help with focus and productivity. I want to share my experience with armodafinil for anyone considering it.

Recently, I decided to try armodafinil for a few days instead of my usual modafinil. This turned out to be a mistake. Armodafinil was significantly more disruptive for me than modafinil.

Day 1: I took 125 mg of armodafinil. I felt really anxious and stressed. That night, I had difficulty falling asleep, but I didn't make the connection at first. I have a history of anxiety and depression, so I thought it was just a particularly bad day.

Day 2: I took another 125 mg in the morning. The anxiety on this day was some of the worst I've ever experienced. I felt very depressed and almost unable to function. Sleep was nearly impossible, approaching insomnia levels.

I didn't think this could be specifically due to armodafinil, as I've never had this kind of experience with modafinil. However, when I switched back to my usual 200 mg of modafinil today, all the negative effects disappeared. I feel fine now.

Just wanted to share this experience. Stay safe out there, everyone.

My Opinion

My sleep provider prescribes me Armodafinil and gives me the highest dosage of 250mg tablets. So in my opinion it might not be the strongest but I definitely feel the 250mg dosage has the best psychoactive effects and euphoria. It also has about an 7-8 hour active profile.. love this shit.

Trying to take a break from Armodafinil

I've been taking Nuv/Armo since it was released. I took Prov before that. Total time, at least 25 years of taking these meds. The effectiveness of Armo 250mg has declined to the point that I need to take a break and hopefully reset my body. I started this process by cutting my meds in half so I could gradually stop the Armo. That hasn't worked for me.

I started exploring other ways to ween myself from Armo and learned that some people have used Methylp and Moda while they were weening themselves from Armo. I've tried both by just stopping the Armo and taking Methyl 40mg or Moda 200mg instead. Neither of those two medications had any effect on me. Has anyone else been through this process? Am I doing something wrong?

Mitigating Modafinil impact on sleep - focus effects last ~4 hours, but can't sleep up to 20 hours later

Modafinil has had an incredible impact on my mornings. I've found that 60-100mg with a mug of black tea allows me to read/write for about four hours with a much stronger focus than I usually have.

The downside is that I usually can't sleep that night. Typically, I'm taking Modafinil between 5am - 7am (usually wake up early to get work done and because of this side effect), then the focus effects are gone around 11- 12pm, but I can't fall asleep till 2 - 4am the next morning. I've tried a few different things (e.g., more water throughout the day, marijuana which helps somewhat).

Right now, I'm only using Modafinil 1 - 2 times a month at most because of how it impacts my sleep schedule. But I recently started working on some personal projects and I want more focus time, planning to take it more frequently. Am I just unusually sensitive (though the focus effects do diminish in 4 - 5 hours)?

Would appreciate any tips on reducing the no/poor sleep side effect.
