The psychedelic 60's emphasis on peace, love, and togetherness reflected an idealistic vision of a harmonious society unbound by conformity. But as time goes on the dark side of humanity begins to creep in. This movement rooted in liberation takes a dark turn no one saw coming https://youtu.be/UdoFORfv70M?si=ZmleNYoib6EwJfAm
Hello everyone!
I am doing a final project for a class about the hippie culture! If you could, please answer the following question in 2 or more sentences. You can write as little or as much as you want. I am using this data to write 3-4 pages about the hippie culture, its history and its evolution through time. If you want to talk about more aspects of the hippie culture that is not mentioned, you are welcome to do so. Thanks!
Do you identify with the term hippie and/or do you resinate with the culture surrounding it?
What drew you to hippie culture? Was there a specific moment or experience that led you to this?
How would you define being a hippie in your own words? Explain it to someone who may not understand the culture (i.e. explain it like they're dumb).
Any influences, such as music, books, or people, that shaped your beliefs or ideas of being a hippie?
How do you feel about the perception of the way hippie culture has changed over time? How do you feel society perceives the hippie movement today compared to the 1960s (for example; Woodstock).
Do you surround yourself around the hippie community? Or do you venture outside the community? Why or why not?
What misconceptions about hippies would you like to clear up?
How has being a hippie changed or evolved over the years for you PERSONALLY? How has it changed YOUR life? The way you view certain things; politics, media, ect? Do you view things differently than others who don't identify as a hippie?
What advice would you give someone curious about breaking into/ discovering the hippie culture? Would you suggest a concert? A musical artist? A film? Protest/ event?
What are you thankful for this holiday season? I will be thankful for the same thing as every other year my strength and sense of self.

in a world of division, we need to resecrect the hippie movement in 2024, and update it for the modern era. btw sending everyone peace and love to times of uncertainty.
When we were young, It was the greatest of times. We believed we would change The world, but did we? If we look at the world Today, the answer most Surely must be no. We fell into a pattern so Many generations do. Trying to survive in the world, We forgot the importance of Sincerely caring about each other. We eventually accepted society’s Egocentric definition of success and Happiness, believing money, material Possessions, prestige, would define Our life’s true worth. It is not too late, though, to open our Hearts and selflessly share our love Within with all others. By doing so, we can still change the Direction of the world, helping everyone Find happiness and success, leaving the World a better place for our children And each other, as we once, when we Were young and hopeful, had hoped to do.
We knew the answers when we were young. We had the best music ever recorded. We were going to change the world. Every generation feels this way. What happened? The answer is life. Many of us got married, had Families, bought a house, had Bills, got a job, and forgot. We settled into a life of mediocrity. Eventually, we bought the illusion Of happiness we learned as We were growing up (Ego). We began looking for Answers in the world around Us, rather than from within (Spirit), Where we once knew The answers lie. Our generation, as so many others, failed. The world now is worse then When we were young. Is it too late to change the world? It is up to each of us to finish Spreading the message of Unconditional love, residing Within each of us, to all others. It is not too late to try to leave The world a better place For our children. If we do not, we will all have Lived our lives in vain.
