Getting birth control is a bit of a pain right now. I do live in an area where I could get over the counter Opill, does anyone know if that would count for the Accutane BC qualification?
i have been on accutane for almost about a month now, and i have started purging and experiencing dry skin and lips but i also noticed a lot more black heads that are more visible… has anyone else experienced this or am i just overthinking it?
Hello! I finished Accutane about 3 weeks ago and over the course of the treatment I got really constipated so my doctor had me take omega 3, fiber, and magnesium supplements which really helped. Since I’ve ended I decided to slowly lower my dose over the 3 weeks to where I stopped taking those supplements. I stopped completely about 3 days ago and now the constipation is back. Am I going through some sort of supplement withdrawal and I need to tough it out or is there something else? I’m open to anything, thanks!
Accutane has to be taken with food, where as epuris or absorbicaLD can be taken irrespective of food for correct absorption of isotret? Can someone recommend which brand to use? Starting isotret next week 40mg next week
My son is on 80mg right now. The doc wants to up it 120mg. I would not classify his acne as severe. The doc says its better to get your cumulative amount done faster. But this seems like it’s past the recommended dosage on anything I tried googling. What do you guys think.
so i am on my seventh month of my… six month treatment plan. i convinced them to give me an extra month on a lower dose (30 instead of 60), and this is mostly because i still have a persistent cyst or two that haven’t gone away. my acne-riddled back has cleared and my face is only scars now which im so happy about. the problem is that all of my acne is painful, long lasting, and cystic. i have a painful cyst on my chest, a place i never used to get acne before accutane. and i have a close comedone on my cheek that’s gotten larger but has no color.
should i just be okay with this? the pain on my chest brought me back to months ago when the pain of acne was debilitating, and i really don’t want to feel that again right after im done- because i know i won’t be able to address it with active ingredients while my skin recovers. i don’t know, im just scared. and i should be happy that im generally cleared but this is just an indication to me that the fight is far from over. i don’t know what to do or how to feel really.
two weeks in on accutane, my face is red. it looks kind of like a sunburn but I haven't gone outside in at least 4 days
I haven't used any new products since starting it's been like this for 2-3 days
is this normal?
My dermatologist advised that I eat a low cholesterol diet given my recent labs. I’m surprised my cholesterol was high, given that (A) I’m only on 20mg, which for me is below the lower limit of Accutane dosage of 0.5 mg per kg body weight and (B) my BMI puts me in the underweight category. Has anyone experienced anything similar?
Will taking the pills about 2 hours after my meal affect the absorption? I forgot to take my pills with me and I’m just now on my way home. Thanks in advance!
I’m a 26F and have been suffering with PCOS for a few years now, diagnosed when I was 17 and gained 50lbs (so much fun 🙂↕️). I’ve heard some things about Accutane being almost like the devil when it comes to acne, bad birth defects, horrible side effects, etc etc., however I haven’t been able to find truly anything that is life threatening.
I’m not planning on having children, my boyfriend even is gonna get a vasectomy after he gets a promotion, maybe some TMI. So I can rule that out. I’m just nervous. Should I be? Is there absolutely anything that I need to be made aware of?
Thanks everyone!
Hi im on 20mg doses started around 2 wks ago and my lip area looks like fish gills. Just full of dry skin, whenever i try washing it off it kind of sticks to the surface? What do i take to revert this
Has anyone been on both at the same time? I also take Adderall. My derm is aware. I’m assuming I will react okay but just wanted to hear other people’s stories. Thank you :)
I Got prescribed 40 mg 2 times a day And i can't even swallow a tic tac And im really depressed bcs of my acne So am i Done or do i have to keep practicing?
I (24f) was on accutane for around 6 months. I had horrible hormonal acne before I started and by the time I was done my skin was absolutely flawless. I went from being the least confident ever to the most confident I have ever been in my life with clear skin. I’m 5 months off accutane now, first I noticed closed comedones/small bumps on my chin but wasn’t really worried. A month went by and over the past 2 weeks I have been waking up with a new pimple every morning, and they’re the same as before. Huge red bumps that don’t come to a head and stay there for weeks. I’m so discouraged and feel hopeless now, this was my last resort. Made a dermatologist appointment for this week so we’ll see what they say.
I, 18 f just start Accutane this August and have been doing actually very well so far, no purging, no nothing. But in the past week my right ear has from what I assume to be leaking plasma? (from a two second Google search)It's so bad that if i scratch my ear only once it'll literally drip down my upper neck (disgusting I'm aware). Has this happened to anyone else? I am going to bring it up at my next appointment and I'm getting rubber jewelry instead of the metal I currently have so hopefully that helps as well.
I can't find an answer online, so my main concern Is not acne anymore ( i did 2 courses of accutane that cleared me almost 100%) but the skin quality, It s very difficult to explain but accutane made my face in general more beautiful like shrinked nose, tighter skin, my zygo "popped" out almost like a lifting effect, not to mention the healthy glowing effect on the skin. Now im acne free but im craving my old skin on accutane, I even considered taking that drug forever just for the effect on the skin, not just acne. Obviously It's a very hard decision so I will try tretinoin before. So my question Is for all of you that went from accutane to tret, how was your skin during tret in comparison of your skin during accutane? Not talking about acne.
Is jt fine to use the Corx 6 Peptide serum with accutane
I already posted some about this. prob sound crazy but i’m overthinking so bad. So I had protected sex on october 17th (condom) No rips or anything. But my period is 2 weeks late! I took 6 pregnancy test and all negative but so worried bc i’m never late. I had sex 26 days ago. If i was pregnant wouldn’t test show it by now. I have been having light cramping and nipples sore. I just need someone to reassure me.
Ive been on accutane since may and i take it twice a day. Ive missed some days before but not a whole months worth. I have leftovers and dont see a point in buying another month worth if i have enough to just take to finish
I'm planning to get on accutane but the MD I want to see is not available until April. I found another clinic that has availability in 2 days but she's a PA. Will the PA provide the same quality of diagnosis or consultation same as an MD? I know knowledge and skills are not the same but it's either I do something now vs wait 6 months and decide not to do it.
